@MrBallywhacker If you pay attention earlier in the video you can see and hear a Supra in the far right lane doing a pull and he was fine; however, he was not on slippery tar (plus water/wet) like the Supra in front.
By the way, this was a short edit. In the full video he was driving totally fine and normal; no messing around.
A lot of youngers people are getting their hands on these supras now without understanding what this car is really capable of. It's not a civic that u just stab the gas pedal and wheelspin until u get traction. If you're not careful, you can get hurt with this car, or any powerful car for that matter. The driver should be thankful only body work to the car is needed
@NJ3ndri03 You must mean behind me; I was driving (camera-car) and when I saw the Supra sideways in my lane, I jammed the brakes as hard as I could!! Notice how slow I passed the Supra and pulled over when it was facing me.
I went from 60-70mph to 10-20mph in a matter of seconds. Unfortunately, thats what caused the pile up probably. However, there was another Supra behind me and maybe three other cars behind him who all slowed down fine. That lady was probably five cars behind me.
@755hp makes sense. i was wondering how the hell she ended up there (her front end was smashed) she hit someone?...(most likely since u said pile up) but all i saw was her and that supra (too much stuff was going on at once)
Such a shame. Lol @ the comment about being surrounded by car enthusiasts who know how to drive. Stupid shit happens. Atleast no one else got hurt or a damaged car.
@suzukiaddress125 I wish the Supra was a 4WD, I live in Michigan and I want one of these badly but the weather here is just horrible, snow/rain %70 of the yr...yet I'm still thinking of getting one next year.
@xXFL4WL3Ss driving Supra on snow...I can't imagine myself doing that without crashing lol careful maaan. Blizzak tires will help on snow&icy road. hope you'll have good time :)
@xXFL4WL3Ss Any cars will slip on snow, especially 2wheel drive with big power. and Blizzak is not even spiked tires. So better not rely on it too much. But they are the best selling non spiked tires for snow&ice. Everyone in northern region of japan use it cuz road legal spiked tires are banned in here
Thank god for the video. I only caught seconds after this. Also thank God this happened while he was surrounded by a bunch of car enthusiasts who know how to drive, cause on an everyday commute this prob would have ended much worse!
Idk why everyone is bashing this dude. While he may or may not have let off of the gas in time to try and recover, I now have a 335i with procede which isnt half as powerful, but there have been times cruising in wet conditions ive found giving it a little throttle without even ripping on it will set the traction control off, ESPECIALLY in situations such as that where you hit a substantial little bump that shouldnt be there, and are barely even 10% on throttle. Deff not 100% on him
@firechicken99 I watched it again and you can see he hits the brakes just after losing it..... In a RWD car that is an INSTANT spin out facilitator..... Best thing you can do in that situation is get your foot off the pedals, keep the front wheels straight, and let the rears regain traction naturally.
Positive proof that confirms just cause you spend a lot of money doesn't mean you're a good driver. Did he even rip it? It just looks like he mucked it over some tar snakes and lost control. What a tool
Thats crazy...I saw this car with sumitomo tires on it at the show which could have been a factor but it doesnt look like he was even getting on it there?
Idk about you but it looks like all driver error to me if you live in nj you expect roads like that. Vie been on cruises with 600+rwd cars in the rain and this never happened. The kid driving the supra can't handle his car just cause it is a little wet is not an excuse. He didn't know what he was doing and spun out fail on his part! Take a driving course in the rain so you can better know your car
did u watch the video mr web??? there was no showing off man comeon look at all that water come up before he loops out. u woulda heard that shit spoolin if he was gonna do somethin stupid. besides him an his boy gave me a thumbs up on the ride home in my csrt4 :D
@jahmingl2 i watched the vid and right b4 he spins out he starts to make some distance on the camera car which leads me to believe he was starting to get on it.... if ur driving normally u dont just spin out like that... what ever it looked like or what ever, it just doesnt happen out of no where.
u can clearly see he wasnt fooling around or "driving reckless at all and u can clearly see he hit those shitty jersey road potholes and tar. and his car probably builds boost at low rpm so thats what happened. ha! there were cars next to him and right in front of him he couldnt go anywhere to drive reckless.
@755hp idk if ur the driver or not but i was right there when he/you were talkin about it and i was right there when they/you were filmin the back end of the bumper. and his story of him wasnt driving reckless
@BadManors05 you can clearly see in the caption of the video it says getting up on boost on wet roads is risky... he had to have gotten on t at that exact point for it to spin out, just crusing on the parkway that would not have happened, it just doesnt make sense.
There where a lot of people driving down there with cars making over 500whp, i was one of them and no one else came close to an incident like this. His stupidity could have ruined the day for other people and could have ruined other vehicles as well. If he cant handle a vehicle of that caliber than he shouldn't own it to begin with. It very well could have been "pot holes and tar" but not just by itself, showing off however and not knowing road conditions is more likely to be believed.
@web305 Listen.......this driver is very capable of handling this vehicle; it was just a bad spot! If he had hit boost on a decent paved road........this would have never occured!!
@755hp LISTEN BUD... my car makes over 600 hp at 2400rpm... i didnt have a problem at all... dont give a sh8T WHAT U SAY because uve never driven a car with power and me or any other car ie: supras with big turbos didnt have a problem driving down there, only this guy and he almost caused a 4 lane pile up...a pot hole isnt the reason why this occured.
@755hp and if he was a smart driver he would have paid attention to the road conditions and been smart enough to not get on it and make the car make boot... it was a stupid mistake for a stupid driver, maybe next time he wont have his car make boost on wet roads.
Thats why you dont do pulls in the Rain!
