though it's a sad album overall, this is stings masterpiece written and aranged for his father. and yes this is my personal favourite sting album. god bless him.
a C+ my ass! why is it that everybody thinks they are a siskel and ebbert on here?the song itself pulls my heartstrings and the pictoral slideshow just sets the mood. besides all that , i appreciate your vision and contribution to making music, to see the sound, and history be all wrapped into one. TY very much Rlzee
i'll give u a grade of about C+. if u google newscastle shipyards (images) u will find much better photos of the shipyards. a few years from now i predict a new generation of videos of images will reach a high quality and become commonplace. u mean to tell me there's not an image of the school he taught at on the web?
Me too. Bought "The Soul Cages" back in the day, and still have that worn-out cassette tape. Time for me to get the cd. It's a masterpiece. And yes, Dee-Dah was a great guy. Moved here from Belfast when he was 14. Worked in an industrial sewing machine plant in Massachusetts most of his life and played music professionally at night. I inherited his instruments when he passed away last year. Being a musician/songwriter myself, this was a profound honor for me. Thank you, Rizee
Hi, Rizee - My great grandfather was a joiner on the Titanic and was supposed to sail on her maiden voyage but he became ill - just in time. My grandfather told me this story on several occasions. Whenever I hear this song, which is one of the most powerful, beautiful and personal songs I have ever heard, I think of them both. Your slide show reveals the passion and depth of feeling you feel for the song and it truly enhances the experience. You did a wonderful job - Thank you very much!
@jintengo Wow...What an incredible story. I get the feeling that You're Grandfather was a pretty Great Guy. Thanks for sharing the story and memory. Also, thanks for the compliment. I Love this whole Album. Take Care, Best Wishes, and Thanks Again.
