@SUNNYRHOADES9 how in the blue hell did we go from Memphis Slim and Roosevelt Sykes, to lady gaga, justin beiber, and the jonas brothers(i will not justify them by capitalizing their names...call it a one-man protest
Memphis Slim is still alive and well ,Living in Paris France -,and Recorded a Kick ass Album a few years ago with his new band in France -.cheers - Sykes was a Natural -a prodigy .
@bertrandui true...the racism of the times in the US chased players like Memphis Slim to Paris and Eddie Boyd to Finland, and Champion Jack Dupree to Germany they just got sick of it and left....they were more respected overseas than in their own country and that was, and still is, a shame
One of the greatest Blues Pianos of all time, along with a powerful voice for singing the blues. This man died way too young like many of the blues greats!
My face is hurtin' from smilin'. Thanks for posting this great item!

The great Memphis Slim lived in France during 36 years. Unfortunetely, he died in Paris during the winter 1988.
