Singing and movement to music is good for brain development too. The rest of our young students in this country are deprived because our schools offer so little music, opportunity for full out singing that all kids had when i went to school in the 1960s, and very little physical movement now. Even recess is almost completely gone from most elementary school days. We are hurting our future by hurting our future adults.

I have noticed that most of the performances, the children are seated. That makes real singing almost impossible. Second, this anthemization of the worst dissidence to the American way of life was the Beatles and Starr and Lennon. We are a country that has experienced an atheistic assault to our own anthem on the pretext of "freedom from" as if it were "freedom of": yet this song persists? What is so beautiful? Mediocrity? Why not name the damn school?

They need to take Mr. B's talent of teaching kids and bottle it. He captures the attention of his students with music, teaching each and every one of them they all have a talent and can achieve anything they want if they go for it. For NYC's Mayor Bloomberg, I hope their story and their appearance at the Academy Awards taught a lesson on how important music is in public schools.

To Mr. B, if you read this. I am a music teacher in New Jersey, and I wanted to thank you! I want to thank you for proving to America that music SHOULD be taught in schools! The love and determination in your student's faces show how music inspires them. You have proven that YOU inspire them as well. These children are amazing and YOU are amazing. There needs to be more people like you in this world. I would love for one day to meet you and your students!

I'm just an average singer (not bad, not great either). But when I sing at home to myself, I feel so FREE, so GOOD.
Singing is a powerful thing. It can't be put into "words". It's just a beautiful thing for the soul.

These kids are adorable and the girl doing her solo is so talented. I can feel the energy through the screen! I like all the kids' videos but this one, WOW! Keep up the good work!

I have been watching the children from Minneapolis, Minnesota and all I can say is WOW... how many lives in the chorus and through out the world have been changedn because of these kids... KUDOS!!! My children love you, Thanks for inspiring young and old :) Happy New Year.. and I will keep sharing your videos..

I have noticed that most of the performances, the children are seated. That makes real singing almost impossible. Second, this anthemization of the worst dissidence to the American way of life was the Beatles and Starr and Lennon. We are a country that has experienced an atheistic assault to our own anthem on the pretext of "freedom from" as if it were "freedom of": yet this song persists? What is so beautiful? Mediocrity? Why not name the damn school?

@kpharris32 it's Christmas... cheer up. Given that most wars are fought by those who believe in something bigger than their own existence... I'm open to imagine a world where we can all appreciate and uphold our existence to the highest priority. When we stop relying on some thousand year old torture story for comfort... when we don't need to fear something in order to respect it. When our pessimism of doom and gloom are put aside (if we don't do what the invisible dude says we should)
