Ok why does it always have to be "us against them"-mentality? I'm a muslim myself but I haven't even heard about the South Park incident untilg now, which proves that I really don't care about a show that is meant to make fun of everything and everyone. Am I one of few? No. But you have to put yourself in a muslims shoes, not a terrorist or an extreme fundamentalist, but another muslims and think about how he/she reacts to another form of negative focus by American media?
@ItsAmadWorld2 Yes I am doing the same and I suggest writing them to tell them so. Unfortunately they are owned by Viacom which offers a variety of channels I watch. Hate to quit watching them all but perhaps I will. Hell I'd get rid of cable if my wife didn't want it. For the record though if you have not been offended by South Park you have not watched it long enough. :) I do love the show though.
Oh, I love the show myself, and, consider myself a Christian. However, I'll watch it now on Hulu rather than Comedy Cental until they play that censored episode UNcensored. You can't give in to terrorists, or, well, you know what happens, I'm sure.
You say you're not afraid? Of course not! Why should you be? If something were to happen, it wouldn't be you or your family that would suffer for it. Asking them to be martyrs for your cause is hardly fair. It's not your choice to make, for the simple reason that you aren't the one that has to live with the consequences.
Pretending they don't exist is also stupid. If you're a cashier in a robbery, do you tell the robber to wait their turn at the back of the line? If a bear shows up, do you argue that you have just as much right to be there as it does? Hell no, you get the hell out of there, or if you can't, defend yourself. You certainly don't antagonize them with no way to defend yourself, that's just begging for a Darwin award.
Not showing images of Muhammad applied to Muhammadans ONLY!
If I want to draw a picture of Muhammad on the sole of my left foot in dog shit and walk around on it all day that is my prerogative as someone who doesn't believe Muhammad to be a prophet of God.
And if any Muslims takes violent action against me for doing so then they are the terrorist that thair cult tells them to be.
Bravo, my favorite men from South Park, sorry your network tucked tail and ran.
It's so awesome to see so many people banding together, but it's also disheartening how quickly and easily the corporate interests outweigh principle :(
I wrote to them, and told them how disappointed I was....
"Just think of the many brave Americans who died for freedom, and yet you refuse to simply air something controversial out of fear. You have given the terrorists control, and they didn't even have to fire a shot. You can still take a stand, and be united in will with the courageous who came before you, and fought against tyranny."
Plus, censorship works well in the 3rd world, where terrorism is the norm and terrorists are common if not the people in power. Though things are different in the west, and should remain such.
Hey man, although I agree with you here, there is also the reality of the situation. People will die, and it won't be you. Its easy to tell someone to be brave when its them and not you who is being threatened.
@Moonbogg Thanks for the comment man. Terrorism is more about the threat of violence than the actual act. They want you to think violence is inevitable; they want you to be afraid. People being afraid is the enabler here and people being brave in numbers is the solution. Yes the first people to stand their ground for human rights always assume the most risk but the more people that speak out with them the less likely that risk becomes.
@RelaxGodfolk Its like all the weak kids banning together and laughing at the school bully one day. Yes they take some risk but what will more likely happen is the bully will run away. Furthermore they will give more kids the courage to stand up as well. They will unite until one is more fearful of being the bully than the victim. Unacceptable behavior must not be accepted and freedom of speech must be protected!
@RelaxGodfolk One last thing. I'm not suggesting Comedy Central become activists against terrorism. They choose to take an action in response to fear. The easiest thing would to have been to not censor this in the first place. If that happened all thins would likely have been over with. I seriously think thier censorship empowers the terrorists. In summary: they fucked up now they should fix it. IMO :)

Sounds like it might be easy to do. I heard the last episode they played was not very good, and, made fun of the mentally challenged.

How big will Islam be in 30-50 years?
The whole world will cow-tow.
The Constitution of United States will change to reflect this.
It will become a crime to talk bad of Islam.
Get ready for it.
