Honestly, this is some of the best on-screen choreography i've seen. the in-fighting at the 2:40's mark was great. 1 question tho: was that jumping roundhouse to the sweep and then the roundhouse (continuous motion) actually that person or was it wire-work? If it was just a natural movement, I'm amazed & stunned. Great Stuff!
@kakuichi Thanks for the comments guys. And none of this was wired. Sam Looc, the hero, just happens to be one of the most talented yet undiscovered screen fighters of our time. What you see is 100% unassisted talent! Thanks for watching!
@treamcmillan Auuutsch! Even if the necklas would have been sharp enough to cut throat it wouldn't stick in concret! And why was there no sound or a slowmotion of the pistol falling, before the bad guy grabbed his bleeding throat? Why would he bleed out of the mouth, by the way? Shouldn't it come only out of the throat? And wouldn't it be cooler if the necklas would have hit the wall and then fallen to the floor with a nice pling? Nice try, but...
@JulixHartley Thanks for watching Julix. As independent filmmakers and students of the craft, we often learn as we go and find the imperfections when its too late. But thats part of our journey! I appreciate your critique of the sound effects and story logic.
@quiken thanks. Hope you're still doing your thing and walking your path! May your journey be the experience that can teach you what you need to know. :-) - Keep trying, and have fun doing so!

well I have to say. Hollywood should be fuckin ashamed that these guys can put together a much better movie. But my own problem is the fact that there were plenty of opportunities to take a shot with that gun that weren't taken
This is the most professional ZG short I've seen (and a great one at that), but it's not their most creative choreography. Editing was tight. If only Chris Nolan came to these guys for Batman Begins... What they have done here is put together several of the key elements needed to create a good fight scene:
1. talented fighters
2. choreography
3. camera placement (mis en scene)
4. editing
Most American flicks only have points 1 and 2. I also liked the music here, but not during the fight scenes.
real as in no strings, no CG and all that. Their skills and coreography make it seem so more natural and that's why these movie swill always be better than the so called 'professional' movies
They took that scene with the medallion from a movie called Drive with Mark Dacascos but in Drive it's done with a coin and the guy is superhuman so it's more "believable" if you want to call that sort of thing believable, lol !!!
yea...ZG getting alot of attention especially from Hollywood with da Tom Yum Gong flick but they need 2 start settin up a Production company 2 make Independent movies 4 profit at local video outlets like Circuit City and Best Buy...ZG will go far
holy crap, and i mean holy crap. This was the best amateur movie i've ever seen. I shouldn't even be calling this an amateur movie. This movie way better then The protector and other Jackie chan and Jet movies. Awesome
besides the audio delay and the fact that the brotherhood neclace looks like a lifesaver tied to a piece of string THIS IS THE GREATEST ONLINE MOVIE I'VE EVER SEEN! IN FACT THIS IS THE BEST OF EVERYTHING I'VE WATCHED ONLINE! THESE GUYS SHOULD BE HIGH FLYING WITH JET LI!
in part one the film you should have had a chase seen with alan and the bad guy/henchmen along with Alan fighting the henchmen and he kicked there ass then the bad guy comes in and kills alan Hurry up with another movie an/or sequel this movie keeps me inspired
Been watching ZG since like '99... man, ZG's really pushed HK style action to the max - they should now start doing what Donnie Yen did in Flashpoint, integrating Jujitsu and Muay Thai into HK action.
Great work guys, it's been a while since I've seen some new stuff from you all. You weren't too ambitious or creative with the choreography in this, but you made up for it with very strong technique. I thought Ken's acting was really good and Sam always has a strong screen presence. This is the most professional short I've seen you all make, can't wait to see more in the future.
Haha, I LOVE Drive, it's one of my all time favourite films, right along with the Ong Bak series, which by the way, Sam at one point when hes stood over a guy and has that angry face thing going on, looks a HELL of a lot like the main bad guy from the first Ong Bak movie!

By the way, I loved the martial art aspect and a lot of the coreography and camera. E.g. the camera shake as the guy is thrown against the pole...
