no the deluxe/voager classes of the constructicons cant combine and devastator is a seoerate toy but the legends class (the really small figrs.) can combine into devastator

For that chest peice, you have to put that yellow bar under the 2 grey things that the head is attached to, and then it will lock in to place better. I had the samea problem at first ( stupid hasbro instructions), but once you figure it out, it works well. That jack hammer mode is a good idea, bad execution.

well i saw it and it is taller than prime, but not by much. Definitely a bit broad but very small. What ever you do DON'T get it for $100 dollars. I have coupons That will give me around $40 off putting it at an almost reasonable $60. Find a way to make it cheaper, or your just playing Hasbros game.
