Is he SERIOUSLY singing with chew in his mouth?! It doesnt sound right. How unprofessional! I LOVE this song! Have the common decency to spit before taking the stage.
The thing about this is while it is true that Jill deserves a lot of credit for this song Travis is the one who gives it the "feeling" it has. The real video for this song is so heart wrenching that it's not even funny. Aside from that Travis actually writes almost every one of his songs that appear on his albums. I haven't heard about the sushi bar but I've heard the airplane part of the story. Just a great story about how a great song was written ... thanks Travis and Jill.
If this was a performance from a storytelling concert I could see him mentioning the writers or some kinda background to the song...otherwise I don't think the songwriter's would get offended by him not saying nothing!
I highly doubt Jill Colucci cares if her name is announced as being a co-writer. They get a substantial pay check for their work, and that's all that matters.
I guess so. Substantial? If you say so. Wasn't trying to upset, just found that the way(s) they collaborated on this song was an interesting story. Figured he might say something. Then again, guess it happens all the time.
Yeah, in the music business, it's a misconception that singing is where the money is at - don't get me wrong, they make a lot of money. However, the real money is in songwriting.
Agreed. Forgive me for asking but you have heard about the sushi bar and the airplane thing, regarding the collaboration? I have it on a vcr tape but dont have the equip to upload. Jill performs about 30 secs of the song and goes on to explain how it came to be.
Totally agreed...Larry Bastien, who wrote songs for Garth Brooks, including If Tomorrow Never comes, and the Dance. Believe it or not he is my neighbor...The money is truly in songwriting...For instance Jeffrey Steel and Phil Vassar...Amazing songwriters as well yet incredible performers...It goes to show something about a writer that can also perform their own material
Really, what can you say. This song says it all...Although he needs to stop trying to sing the high, r and b stuff and stick to what he does. good singer and an excellent guitar player
Travis is great, one of the best and this song has always had a place in my heart. Travis is an excelleant guitarist and an awesome singer. You can always understand every word he sings and you just don't find that in many singers anymore. I could listen to this over and over!
I saw him live in Ny in a small theater and he played a nice acoustic set in the middle of the show including this song. When he finished I felt like, ok let's go home now. He is an AMAZING guitarist.
I also saw him live at Feather Falls Casino in Oroville California 4 Months ago . Travis is a great singer and guitar player the man concert was great!! worth every penny . we stayed the Hotel Casno and on the Way back to Sacramento heading back on I 5 we waved and honked the car horn ...
Travis' acoustic set in the middle of his shows used to include "Lone Wolf" by Hank Jr. That's the only performance I'd put in front of this one. I got to see him do it in his own backyard in at Cowboys Kennesaw Ga. I wish that performance was available.
I'm a huge Travis fan. He's probably the most under rated country recording star out there. I see him every time he's in KC. When you coming back Travis?
Travis is great.. has anyone seen any videos of Travis singing "Put some drive in your county" using his number 3 Dale Earnhardt Guitar?? Post them please,, thanks
Actually if he does have a dip in , thats cool as hell that he still did the song that good ! lol

@chacha65020 How can you even think he's singing with Dip in his mouth? Seriously?
bigdmck01 1 year ago 3
@chacha65020 Dip or no dip. He is still singing this song good. You need to respect his singing.
nordyke1 1 year ago
@chacha65020 It's HIS song. If he wants to put dip in before playing it and you don't like it.. leave or stop listening.

You know Trav, you could at least give Jill credit for co-writing this song when you go on stage.

Travis is bluesy, rocky, and country. That's his style. I'm pretty sure the women probably love it when he hits those high notes, too.

This song (by Travis exclusively) represents my sentiments to my very own son, Ben (only he knows what we've been through)...thanks Travis!
