  • Whupp that white ass harder than a can of Frosty Potatoes(TM) !

  • Where is the great Black Hope? no heavyweight champ in 10 years. Klitchko's look white to me

  • Some idiot said Quarry vs. Tyson, Quarry would be out in two rounds. Tyson fought stiffs, scarecrows, he was troubled by courageous men, lateral movement, hand speed. Like Foreman said, Tyson was a "chicken heart." See Holyfield, Lewis, Mcbride.. These three made Tyson look like a chump!

  • 0:18 Ali would thought, "now I'm gonna whupped you for that!!!!"

  • Today it's the great black dope. All black fighters lose to the great Klitschkos.

  • Quarry was pretty much the punching bag of the division back then. So many others, Ali, Foreman, Frazier, Norton and even Leon Spinks held the title. But not Quarry.

  • Is this not George Chuvalo?

  • @cybertrollka No it's Jerry Quarry.

  • The Great White Hope?? Like I had nothing better to do than worry about what color the Heavyweight Champion of the World was then. This was a different day & I was pulling for Frazier all the way. We had so little to cheer about in Philly for a few years there!! I liked Ali,Quarry and others but Joe was Working Class!!

  • Quarry = proud Irish-American boy.

  • quarry would destroy the heavywieght division these days

  • quarry would destroy the slobbywobblyheavywieght division these days

  • Foreman says he purposely avoided Quarry.

  • Quarry actually said "screw white hope, I'm a fighter!" That tell you something?

  • Quarry had that great, sometimes devastating left hook, but he needed a lot more variety to his offense to have a chance at beating the likes of Ali and Frazier. A strong chin, but a tendency to bleed out-of-control when cut. I wonder if he took aspirin or something similar before a match not knowing that it was the worst thing to take?

  • Quarry and Tyson in his Prime? No cntest..Quarry would be out of their in the first 2 rounds. I'd say first

  • Jerry, u were so good, but had the misfortune to fight in an era with Ali, Frazier and Foreman. Would have been a cruiserwt champ if div existed then. RIP

  • why isnt dere 15 rounds anymore?????????

  • @captainjesusman Because of fighters dieing from injuries sustained during their fights. It was decided to reduce the maximum number of rounds from 15 rounds to 12 rounds to reduce the risk of a fighter losing his life after a fight. A perfect example of this is Ray Mancini vs Doo Koo Kim. Kim died from the injuries he received at the hands of Mancini. I believe that fight went into the 14th round if i'm not mistaken and it is believed that Kim would have survived if the fight ended earlier.

  • You stayed too long in the Ring Jerry, and shipped too much punishment, and so did Ali and Louis. But you all gave us lots of thrill, that, we'll never forget, many thanks !!

  • Poor Jerry !! Stayed too long in the Ring and shipped a lot of punishment. But you entertained Quarry and we'll never forget that you and Ali and Frazier gave so much to the fight profession. Bless you, Sir.

  • How could this man be left off some of the new boxing video games that are out now? There are plenty of fighters on there that Quarry would have distroyed! Come on EAsports... give it up to a true legend like IRISH!

  • I luv boxing and I know fighters. Jerry got every ounce outa his talent! He'd kill a lotta fools today trust me!

  • he was tough but couldnt box worth a damn

  • Quarry was great, just had a problem with getting cut,

  • Quarry's so-called iron chin is what led to his premature death. I guess he had nothing else but boxing, so he continued until he was brained-damaged beyond the point of recovery. The beating he received at the hands of Muhammad Ali was hard to watch. The referee stopped the fight way too late. Ali, to his credit, gestured to the referee to stop the fight.

  • 00:23 seconds dude flippin camera off

  • @athleticsam7 Naw, he was whistlin', but it looks like he did.

  • He was overused, and mismanaged in my opinion by his father. 170-17 amateur record before he was the age of 19, thats a lot miles on the odometer. At that time they didnt use head gear for amateur bouts, thats alot of punches being taken no mater if it only went 3 rounds. Jerry could have had a much better career if he wasnt rode like a horse early so early in his life.

  • at 20 seconds i know that ugly white bitch with the fake boobs job and fake hair weave, with nasty teeth wasn't cheering for Quarry lifting Ali of the ground (illegal move) in boxing, if i was Ali i would gang rape that bitch to teach her a lesson, a. for being a hypocrite and cheering the white man who beat her and called her a bitch b. to humble her and make her realize that the woman's struggle against man is equivalent to the colored man's struggle against the white oppressor.

  • @kalai131 WTF are you talking about buddy you have some serious hate in you that you need to deal with....

  • @kalai131 fuck you asshole

  • Quarry was great indeed. The problem he had with Ali was that he couldn't hit him. You can't beat something you can't hit.

    Quarry vs. Tyson? Quarry.

  • @chinopisces

    lol, Tyson would kill QUARRY,

Tyson only loses to boxers who had boxing skills, like Buster Douglas, Lewis, Holyfeild..

Tyson lost to them other dudes because he was old and washed up.

but boxers like Quarry wouldve been destroyed by Tyson in his prime, because Quarry doesnt move, hold or box, & he's right there to be hit.

    Tyson wouldve loved that..

Tyson 3rd rd KO over Quarry easily

  • @nevawrong: I doubt that. Quarry's gone all the way (15), and Tyson hasn't. Its quite possible Tyson could have connected with his vicious uppercuts. Even if he was knocked down, he'd get up and keep going.

But we'll never know. And if you think that you are absolutely right (and neva wrong) about everything, including things that aren't possible, then you are seriously deluded.

  • @chinopisces yeah, but Tyson has gone 10 & 12 rds before, 10 rd win against James Tillis, 10 rd win againt Mitch Green, 12 rd win against Bonecrusher Smith 12 rd win against Tony Tucker, 12 rd win against Razor Rudduck, 10 rd KO againts Jose Ribalta. so a younger Mike Tyson was actually able to go the distance, & it was all skilled boxers that was able to move & avoid Tyson's full leverage punching power who was able to beat him in the later rd's, but Quarry's slow style wont
  • @nevawrong: 12 rounds is a lot different than 15.

Sorry, your argument isn't convincing enough for me. Not that I care.

  • @chinopisces

yeah, but i bet Tyson's punches were very convincing to you,

& it wouldve been very convincing to Quarry's very easy to hit Chin as well : )

  • @nevawrong why are you bringing up tyson, its a quarry vid. i already know you have a crush on him, baseed on your tyson vs truth

  • @messier991102

i didnt bring up Tyson, that guy Chinopisces brought him up first,

    i just responded

  • Ali is not the greatest fighter of all time... no boxer can ever be given that title. the smallest mma fighter with any sort of jiu jitsu or wrestling background will destroy Ali

  • @MegaLittlelewis Cain Velaquez destroyed the big bad wrestler Brock Lesner with boxing skills

  • @chucknchar Actually, Cain used his wrestling skills to get Brock off him. Then did a nice reverse when Brock had him from the back. And then got a hold of Brocks leg and sent Brock stumbling across the ring. THEN he used boxing.

  • @MegaLittlelewis you just showed everyone how big of an idiot you are... brock lesnar.. really?

  • @MegaLittlelewis

    fuck you and fuck mma

    mma is wild

boxers have respect for each other

and ali is greater than you ever wish to be

  • ali was about to do some dragon abll z ish on that white boi at 0:44

  • Name song plz?

  • @MrHasek39 "Gimme shelter" by The Rolling Stones.

  • @aoxomoxoa88 thx big thx!

  • @MrHasek39 Glad to help.

  • Jerry Quarry was not only a heckuva fighter, but a brave warrior. Like Joe Frazier, he was never in a bad fight as he always gave 110% in the ring. He never ducked anybody as his record proves. In terms of the excitement he brought in and out of the boxing ring, he will always be number one in my book!

  • I guess if white fighters should stay out of the ring than that means that the Klitschko brotthers should retrie after all they have done is dominate all challengers so far.

Also, Joe Calzage (spelling) from Briton, who is one of the all time greats in the mid weight divisions, should have never gotten in the ring.

  • @closer16 watch?v=lZ-7HHmtNZo

  • A good fighter during the Golden Age of Heavyweights but his face had the consistency of paper mache, leading to more blood loss than a Dracula flick.

  • "quarry was good club fighter.. white people have to stay out of the ring though.."

Jerry was a good club fighter? Do you realize that he was the number one heavyweight contender three times and was in the top ten in the ratings for about eight years? He defeated Floyd Patterson, Ron Lyle, Earnie Shavers, Buster Mathas and others during his carrer. Were those fighters also only good club fighters? Hardly, as how many club fighters were two time heavyweight champions like Patterson?

  • @kentaappel white people have to stay out of the ring

hahahaha...two names; jack dempsey, rocky marciano

    what a asshole eh?

  • im named after this guy my dad sparred with him

  • the dude was good

  • Got SICK of that term'Great White Hope' YEARS ago!! Played out!! This isn't 1910 for crying out loud,Only dimwits would use it or even think that Most Whites today are sitting at home worrying about what color the Hvy wt Champion is. Whether he's Black,White or whatever, I still go to work the next day. For the record there had never been a Chinese Champ either,Do you think they're concerned in China?

  • What the hell happens at 0:19?

  • Comment removed

  • @closer16 Watch boxing much lately? apparently not.

  • Ali could really be brutal. Check out a fight agains a European fighter called (I think, Richard Dunn) every time ali hit him Dunn started bobbing up and down. The commentators were laughing, but it was tough agains a guy that takes a punch like I do!!!! God bless you ali, you were a true champion...

  • Fuck you! Quarry was much better than a club fighter. Watch--I mean WATCH--the films of his career, and just ask Mr. Foreman, Mr. Frazier, and others who were genuine Quarry fans.

  • Ernie Shavers was his biggest win. Shavers was young a brutally hard hitter, and Quarry put on a show that fight. Closer16 tell the truth. Take race out of it. What the hell is a club fighter anyway.

  • @munchkiecocoa yeahmate i'll say he was better than a club fighter he woulda been a standout in any other era but the seventies. Fuck was there ever a time when there was so many quality heavyweights around? 80's maybe, 90's onwards forget about it. All their steroids and growth hormone, they're big but they cant fight , they got no skills like the old days.Quarry battered Shavers and i think he did Lyle aswell if im not mistaken. He was like a white Joe Frazier.

  • @imdunin A "white Frazier" is a good comparison. I was surprised that Frazier beat Quarry in their 1st fight. My take was that Quarry hit harder, took a better shot, and had better boxing skills. But Smokin Joe was like a freight train that just kept comin. He just wore peoples ass out man. Had the heart of a lion. The 1st three rounds of that fight was amazing. Lyle and Mac Foster were impressive wins for Jerry along with the Acorn. And yeah, Ernie could punch holes in concrete lol.

  • @Waszma A 'White Frazier' is a Lousy term to use, especially since, best of my knowledge, Quarry was a pro first. Both fighters were who they were,Not anyone else. Quarry was a Counter-Puncher, Frazier was a Relentless Stalker.Quarry favored his right,Frazier, his left. Quarry stood up straight,Joe bobbed and weaved

  • @Nickcat5 Here's something you don't hear often on here; I stand corrected. I agreed with imdunin's assessment based on toughness, though, not styles. But you're right, Quarry was a counter puncher and that chopping right hand that was usually delivered on a downward angle was his main weapon. On another subjrct, you ever see the weird ending in Quarry/Chuvalo? If not, check it out.

  • the amazing thing about this fight to me is Ali wasn't into beating him up as much as he could have. of all the fighters Ali beat up he took it easy on Quarry. I don't mean Ali didn't fight hard he did no doubt in the early rounds, but later on in either of their fights Ali didn't jack him up the way he could have.

  • This is true of the second fight when Ali was very much aware that Jerry's brother Mike was just about killed by Bob Foster in the preliminary fight that night, and Jerry's mind was elsewhere. In the first fight though, Jerry had a good chance to win if it wasn't for the cut. He was coming on with beautiful hooks to the body and head when the cut happened. Ali himself admitted that.

  • Ali could be cruel in the ring. The Terrel fight is an example where he went out of his way to punish a fighter. Ali like us all is complex, he showed mercy to some and tormented others. Quarry was a lucky guy in that regard. White guy with skills in a sport dominated by oppressed angry African Americans. Ali knew Quarry was not his equal but didn't make an example out of him. Ali wasn't so nice he would put himself in the way of Quarry's hook though either. Was Quarry even 190? 5'9" ?

  • Well put "Tellthetruth." Well put.

  • Quarry was 6'0'' and in his prime weight between 195 and 200 pounds.

  • @tellthetruthg

Terrel was probably the only fighter that Ali fought who was rather short , besides Frazier. Ali never showed mercy to anyone if he had the chance to be ruthless he would go about and punish the opponent. Usually we see Ali play defensive, that was because most of his opponents were near his height and weight category. Plus he seemed to prefer the strength and brutishness of his opponents, it made him look like a better fighter.

  • @crawhip7 he was 6'6" . Had a pretty sharp accurate jab fast compared to most or until Ali hit the stage then he was totally out classed and he seemed to move in slow motion compared to Ali

  • @tellthetruthg

oops , i got confused with that other boxer Oscar bonavena...heheh. Yeah , i heard that Terrel never really got knocked out by Ali. Do ya know any one who has uploaded the entire Ali Vs. Terrel fight?

  • @crawhip7 I think it's on you tube don't know for sure though. It was a very one sided fight. I'd rather watch any of the Frazier vs Ali classics over & over

  • @munchkiecocoa You must have been watching another fight because Quarry didnt win a round andf hit Ali with nothing. An no, Ali never said that.

  • whats the song????

  • @JimmyPage1973 "Gimme Shelter" The Rolling Stones.

  • i think manny pacquiao will be exposed in the same way if the fight with floyd ever happens

  • You are right on feddei111. I worked with Jerry Quarry for a few months back in '85. He didn't see himself as a great white hope at all, and from my conversations with him, he didn't seem to see anything in terms of race. And yeah, he was overshadowed by Ali, but of course so was everyone else, Ali is in a category of one. I prefer sluggers over boxers, so Ali isn't my favorite due to his style, although I have tremendous respect for him, but I would have to consider him the best ever.

  • alis my fav for reasons other than just ringship but....quarry was so awsome must give him his proppers

  • Jerry Quarry was tougher than a $2 steak, and had ZERO fear. Consistantly knocked the hair off of much bigger heavyweights. Excellent hand speed, steel chin and plenty of KO power. If there was a "cruiser weight" division in his era, he would have dominated it so completely it would have been boring. Anyone who doesn't respect Quarry as a fighter, either knows nothing about boxing or is mentally deficient.

  • @Waszma YOO QUARY WAS VERY POTENT FIGHTER OVER SHADOWED BYE U KNOW WHO...BUT A DANGEROUS A RESPECTED FIGHT ...MUCH LIKE FRAIZER ...AND IM BLACK ...HE WAS NO GREAT WHITE HOPE...HE WAS A GREAT WHITE FIGHTER!!!

  • Exactly. I'm also black and I grew up watching him, admiring his skill, heart, determination, and courage.

  • Finally! Two people ("bluemoonomen" and "feddei111") know what the hell they are talking about regarding Jerry Quarry. I'm white, and Muhammad Ali is my all-time hero, but Jerry Quarry was a marvel. When he fought at his best, he was beautiful. If only his skin wasn't prone to cuts. My God, he would have been champion as Mr. Foreman and Mr. Frazier have so often said.

  • "anyone who doesn't respect Quarry as a fighter either knows nothing about boxing or is mentally deficient." Couldn't of said it better.

  • @Waszma I loved watching Jerry fight he was one tough sonofagun. He traded on his chin though and he paid for it later on in life. God bless him one of the greats. He just had the bad luck to be fighting when Ali, Foreman ,Frazier et al were around. I hat that title great white hope it puts too much pressure on a fighter. Leave race out of it and appreciate the man the fighter and his qualities

  • @Waszma I'm a black guy , and I'm telling you Quarry was a tough fighter. Any other era, he might have been champion. Unfortunatly, he fought during the era of the Greatest,Frazier, Foreman, etc. Hell he knocked out a young Earnie Shavers, who as we know, gave Ali all he could handle in later years.

  • @Waszma, You are correct. But could have come across as a bit more intelligent. Had you not opened your reply with, "Fuck You!'... You may have actually gained a notice of some knowledge.

Rather embarrassing to display yourself to the entire internet as a second class act that happens to have a keyboard. Sorry. But you have company at least. ;D

  • @Ghstwn Excuse me? I'm not seeing the quote to which you are referring.....please educate me.

  • @Waszma, I beleive I owe you an apology. My comments were aimed at Munchkiecocoa. And I just noticed his comment is 8 months old and is of no matter. Your posting though I agree with. Love the $2 steak referrence. Great! If Jerry didn't get cut so easy, was a bit more like Chavalo, wasn't stuck among the the greatest heavyweight contenders of any era,.. he would have been a better known legend. And possible champ. But then again,.. Chavalo didn't quite make it either. But made Champs fight!

  • @Ghstwn No prob dude...that's why they put erasers on pencils. Peace...

  • @Waszma Agree totally my friend. Those that knock Jerry Quarry's ability as a boxer are either disrespectful or stupid (or maybe both).

  • @LMatters1 Amen brother...

  • @Waszma i dont think anyone could have said that any better..That....was perfect.

  • @dempsey981 Thank you. It's good to hear from people who know boxing. You must have been a fan during the heyday. People who weren't around to experience it have no idea how loaded with talent the game was then. How much would a ticket cost for a match up between Monzon and Hagler? Too bad those guys missed each other by a few years. Man, that's one I'd like to see... Have a good one.

  • @Waszma well,u had it spot on when u said people who dont appreciate jerry, dont understand what a good fighter is.jerry in prime was beatable ONLY by a few very elite class guys, and still u never really knew.foreman said outright he ducked jerry[source the film facin ali].at his peak jerry was great to watch, all the speed ,skills, and drive that make a great great fighter.still i hear guys reveal their ignorance by talking jerry down.anybody that ko shavers in 1 round is a dangerous man

    n

  • @Waszma it seems like jerry was stereotyped, labeled, because he lost a couple of really BIG title fights.he never really shook that off dispite his undistuputable greatness.so as a result i hear alot bad mouth comments on jerry.everybody loses now and then,ali,holmes.tyson.louis,dempsey,duran,pacquioa,they all lost a few.jerry never lost to anybody that wasnt championship level[until he got real old on a comeback failure once].RIP jerry,a few of us will stick up for ya big guy!!

  • @dempsey98 Good for you man. I knew J.Q. He told me that his brother looked as if he might not wake up from the KO by Foster. That fight was on the undercard. He spent about 30 very nervous minutes in the dressing room waiting to see if his brother was going to be OK. He said by the time he got in the ring his legs felt like spaghetti. I'm not saying he would have beaten Ali, but I'm sure it took a lot out of him.

  • @Waszma indeed i've read things about mikes undercard ko,just like u said.in retrospect for reasons u mentioned it was a HUGE mistake to put mike in against foster like that on jerry big fight night.twas a worse case outcome nearly.emotionally rung out is not the place to be before a huge fight like that.its these subtle, innocent mistakes that make the difference sometimes.quarry was a slick slick dangerous guy, bobbin, slippin, counterin, poundin up and down with both hands HARD.only thing he cut!

  • @Waszma Nicely written and summarized, Waszma.

  • @Waszma That is very true except that there were a lot of other guys his size fighting in the heavies, too. He could have dominated but we will never know now.

  • @Waszma its not that i dont respect this man its just that hes boring

  • @Waszma fuck quarry son of a bitch !

  • @jhonson450 whats your deal fuckwit?

  • @Waszma In ur mama's ass asshole !

  • @jhonson450 Dude...go fuck yourself. You're obviously a complete moron. I'm done with you, you bore me.

  • @Waszma i didnt mentioned u in the comment in the first plase u started the shit bhenchod !!! teri maan ko chodun !

  • @jhonson450 Hey cretin...when you reply to someones post, an email gets sent to them, dig? That's where this dumb shit started. That's what started this dialogue.

  • why'd you waste ur time puttin this together? In meant nothing???

  • lol

  • This video is funny as heck. That guy looks so sorry.lol lol lol lolllllllll!

  • Tell that to Ron Lyle,Earnie Shavers or Mac Foster.

  • The great white dope.

  • "Great white dope?" Eat me. Your knowledge of boxing and fighters blows. Just like you.

  • There is no more great white hope. The Klitschkos rule. too bad niggers and wiggers

  • actualy, david haye will make the klitschkos look like fools

  • I think we have a typical silly negro bigot here. The Klitschkos rule and no black man can beat them. Haye knows it that's why the fag punked out of 2 Klitschko fights. Idiot!

  • The great white hope? This dumbo? This looser? ha...ha...

  • Oh, blow me. Quarry never saw himself as a great white hope. He was a great fighter. "Dumbo?" "Loser?" You just described yourself jt123egypte.

  • Thats Jerry Quarry you idiot.

  • Comment removed

  • quarry was was a tuff guy and no one knock out shavers like he did

  • but he got tko'd by ali and btw he sucks

  • so did foremen and loads more

  • Quarry sucks??? Nah. But you sure-as-shit do!!!

  • I never understood the great white hope thing. Didn't Marciano retire undefeated at 49 and 0 and defeat 3 former black champions? I certainly don't want to make a race thing of this as great boxers are great boxers no matter what, but it gets old.

  • people from that era tell me Marciano never really fought nybody good and his only challenge was an old old joe louis who he beat... so from the old heads they say that Marciano was a good fight but he wouldnt of beat Muhammed Ali or even George Foreman. These are diff eras of boxing. So its hard 2 say.

  • Marciano also faught Ezzard Charles and Jersey Joe Walcott both champions and beat them. Ali basically was knocked out by Henry Cooper and because of the cut glove "incident" won on a Cooper cut. Some of the best guys he beat, he also lost too. Some of his victories, many would believe he actually lost in a lackluster performance. He also retired with a mediocre record for a champion. Marciano would undoubtedly knock Ali out.

  • @willysnowflake1 Larry Holmes and a young Leon Spinks who was only like 10-0 when he beat Ali. In all honesty there is really no great heavyweights. Not Joe Louis, Not Mike Tyson not George Foreman. Right now Wladimir Klitchkos Jab can win ANY fights hes in. Noone can beat his jab. Ive never seen a boxer so dominate with such a basic move like a jab that can knock out muthafuckaz...

  • what? hahahahahahhahaha spinks and larry? they won ali? in 1978 or 1980? a fucking fat with parkinson? ali 66 is the best boxer ever, you know shit on boxing.

  • @consta4891 U dont know shit about boxing. What the fuck are u even talking about????? Keep Pretending like you know what the fuck your talking about cause nothing you said even makes sense.... fuckin' retard

  • "ali 66 is the best boxer ever" i agree

he couldnt be touched, lightning fast with knockout power still

  • "or even george foreman"? foreman would win marciano much easyer than ali

  • Comment removed

  • @consta4891 Marciano im learning wasnt that great and only fought 3 big names and one of them was Jersey Joe Wilcot. He beat an out of prime Joe Louis. Tyson woulda rocked Foreman, Ali, and Marciano and hes still NOT the greatest heavyweight because no heavyweight in the history of boxing has been great. Lenegds of the ring existed in the other divisons like Roberto Duran, Julio Cesar Chavez Sr., Sugar Ray Leonard.... No fat ass heavyweights or big guys have skills even outside of the ring.

  • @ShutTheFuckUp0809 and in reality of it. Doesnt matter how big or tough anyone is. A gun can end their whole entire life.... remember that next time someone thinks or acts tough with muscle. Cause unless you got a gun your not unstoppable unless u r wearing a vest! lol

  • tyson avoided foreman, foreman would destroy tyson EASY, CUS DAMATO KNEW IT.

and you do not know nothing on boxing

  • Comment removed

  • @consta4891 learn how to fucking talk also. You dont know nothing on how to spell or write proper grammer u fuckin idiot.... wtf is U dont know nothing on boxing... make sense when you talk cause you STILL dont know boxing...

  • @consta4891 also u fuckin retard he lost when he wasnt fat and it wasnt the early 80s to Joe Fraizer. Just cause you got a boxing background on your youtube profile doesnt all of a sudden mean u know shit about boxing. Ive seriously never talked to a dumber person in my life. If you want to get dissed some more keep responding to me cause you can barely fuckin make sense in what you type...

  • you are pathetic...Here there are two persons, they joke of you, I do not want to spend my time with a poor idiot ignorant .

  • yes man, he is a fucking faggot!!!

  • lol i agree

  • u are a fucking noob in boxing, asshole!!

  • I'm with ya, brother "ShutTheFuckUp809." It is very clear that "Consta-pated4891" was slapped with an iron mallet on his head at birth instead of the doctor's hand on his ass. The guy has a cow shit pie for a brain, and his abundant absence of logic makes him a poster child for cerebral deficiency.

  • YOU DO NOT KNOW shit on boxing, you are the greatest ignorant in youtube. shut up please retard.

  • ?????

  • marciano had no style and his challengers were a bunch of bums, even likes of Norton and Shavers could fuck up marciano, all the boxing experts know that

  • Quarry getting CUT UP like he did SAVED him from getting a more thorough beating like he got in his SECOND fight w/Ali. And those "solid hooks to the body" (lol) werent doing ANYTHING. Jerry was in way over his head against Ali...OBVIOUSLY.

  • Quarry was not in over his head. His propensity for cuts was. Jerry was an all-around gifted fighter. The fact that Ali was the greatest heavyweight of all-time does not shame Quarry's effort. By the way, Quarry the ONLY fighter who stepped up to take this fight, despite being shot at, threatened, and in a racially hostile environment. He feared no one.

  • Klitschkos rule!

  • lookat ali today to see the damage joe done to him ,for being a racist woman bashing, turncoat

  • Quarry was an excellent fighter. Unfortunately he suffered from two disadvantages:

    1. At @ 5'11" and 195lbs, he was much smaller than most of his heaveyweight opponents. Ali towered over Quarry.

    2. He, sadly, came of age at the same time as Ali, Foreman, Frazier, and Ken Norton. All outstanding boxers. It was a very tough time to be a professional fighter. He would have done much better today.

  • What people forget is that Quarry performed in superior fashion against Ali and especially Frazier in their first fights. Having the misfortune of being cut from "ONE" punch does not diminish a fighter's skill. And, I truly believe Quarry would have knocked out Norton when Jerry was in his prime, and he would have given Foreman a run around a New York City block.

  • @munchkiecocoa You are spot on about one thing...take both fighters on their best days, Quarry KO"s Norton within 3. No problem.

  • I'm not trying to be derogotory, but what was the point of this video?

  • Im askin the same thing. It does seem rather pointless given the ass whoopin Ali but on that boy.

  • What "ass whoopin'" are you talking about??? Quarry got cut. Period. He was coming on and landing solid hooks to the body. He was fully energized and ready to continue when they stopped the fight, but the cut--which he got from ONE punch--was too deep. That's not an "ass whoopin'."

  • whats the name of this song

  • gimmy shelter-rolling stones
