Now THAT is badass. As if the Thundercats reboot wasn't already awesome, this just made it even more awesome. I'm a life-long fan of the original (I own the complete series on DVD, and grew up watching the Cartoon Network reruns), and I am simply blown away by how well they were able to reboot this show. The plot is much improved over the original, and there are so many references and homages to the original it's mind-boggling!
The producers were probably unsure how to do their transformation while staying true to the original, but not copying shot for shot. So they experimented with the "Journey to the Tower of Omens", and when they studied what the fans thought of it, they changed up the transformation.
Fantastically done. Not so much repeated animations as it was in the 80s and still keeps you on the edge of your seat. I hope they do not over do it too much as the moment loses it's sparkle after a while. Keep Mumm-Ra as a powerful enemy, not something that became easy to defeat as it was in the 80s towards the end.

I hope they keep changing the transformation a bit because the same transformation keeps getting stale

@fbiuzz You're right. It wouldn't hurt for the producers to variate 2011 Mumm-Ra's transformation.

1980's is just a mummy going into a growth spurt and growing alot of muscles overall a good transformation though not exactly terrifying
2011:O_o BADASS and scary

@nagaking07 I have to say, I love episode 13's Mumm-Ra transformation better.

@Ferocinator I for one, agree.

@Wolf1979 But he's very powerful in his Ever-Living form.

@Wolf1979 He's a villain in a cartoon made for the U.S. Of course he's going to be ugly.

@Wolf1979
Mumm-Ra in mummy form kinda reminds me of Mr. Burns from The Simpsons, with the limp wrists! LOL Or "The Emperor" from Star Wars.

The only flaw with this is that the voice was better when he transformed in "The Tower of Omens"
