  • what pedals did hendrix, page, blackmore used?

  • @harisfender Hendrix used Fuzzfaces and Octavias. Page used a Tone Bender. Blackmore I believe at least owned a Fuzzface but he denies any use of pedals.

  • FUCK WITH DE PEDAL, I WANT THOSE BOOTS!!!

  • who playing the intro?

  • Wow you must be sick of the Jack Black like comments, you really do sound like him tough :D Tenacious D (L)

  • Sounds Good!

  • what the name of the song at the start of the video

  • @sephX22 it if a 6 was a 9 by jimi hendrix

  • @sephX22 its if a 6 was a 9 by jimi hendrix

  • That SG is sexy.

  • Man GMD's first dirty tone without the fuzz was so harmonic it was like an organ!

  • HEY GERMANNUDE!

FOR YOU WICH FUZZ IS BETTER?

I WANT A FUZZ WITH A WARM SOUND ALSO WITH A VOX WAH WAH V847,FOR PLAYING ROCK BUT BLUES AND JAZZ,TOO

    THANK :)

  • hey gearman? how much do the snake boots affect your tone?

  • i think i might get one of these, GMD could you perhaps pick your favorite out of the following three fuzzies (all of which i would be rocking with 108's):

    1. this one

    2. Monsterpiece NPN

    3, Analogman sun face

  • @scarecrow312 Check out the Red Witch Fuzz God, it sounds kind of like a hybrid of all 3 those pedals.

  • The only thing that holds me back is the price.

  • Jimi would dig it.

  • if the suuun refused to shine, I dont mind!!!

  • CRANK DAS FUZZ!

  • absolute bliss. 6:23-6:44

  • i dont see the point in getting that pedal if my marshall already makes that sound....hey we should check what amp jack black uses...see if they match up with gearmandude

  • love the sound of this onee

  • what is the dirtiest most muddiest fuzz pedal on the market? i cant seem to find the right one for me

  • 6:05 seems like Jimmy Hendrix!

    good demo!

  • I'm not a big fan of SGs but that SG looks tubular.

  • I own this pedal and it's pretty cool, at times it seems a bit wide and fuzzy but damn it does sound great.

My biggest problem with it is when you change roughly from 4 o clock to 5 (which is full) the amount that it changes is quite annoying. THe buffer is immersive, it's great, it cleans the fuzz, smothens it, helps with wah wah. The pedal sometimes causes droning feedback (the kind you can't control) when your on the neck pickup or middle (strat user i am)

  • Super feedback-inducing fuzz. LOVE IT!

  • love it

  • that's a sweet sounding Fuzz!

  • sweet ass stingray boots? or alligator...i don't know but i wish i could rock them while playing a nice guitar...hehe...keep it up these videos are great

  • Got one and it's great! Playing with the knobs you can get Hendrix, Cream, and other things!

  • @thundersteve1566 which hendrix sound? :)

  • @BlueShirt7 It's advertised as getting the later BOG sound, but with

some tweaking earlier sounds are possible!

  • @BlueShirt7 Sorry for the late reply. This Fuzz is associated with later Hendrix when his Fuzz's had Silicone transistors. The earlier ones had Germanium, but if you tweak the knobs you can coax some early Hendrix with this and a good Marshall!

  • Sounds amazing. I'm getting it

  • im tryin to get a black keys sound should i go with this or the big muff? i think i like the sound of this more but im not sure which pedal is more suitable for that kind of sound.

  • @TyLaw321 my understanding is he uses a earthquaker devices hoof fuzz

  • its jack black!!

  • so this or the big muff pi wicker???

  • @icps86 go for the mjm london fuzz...

  • this

  • the last thing you need is another tone control on the muff

  • Good demo! I have this pedal. Great fuzz box. Highly recommended!

  • this or the dunlop fuzz face?

  • which do you recommend, the dunlop fuzz face or this?

  • I have this and it's GREAT! The buffer helps a lot when using a wah in front. And thankx gearmandude for the great demos and boots!

  • Sounds decent, especially for that price.

  • This may be the best sounding fuzz pedal IMO, and the buffer cuts through the mud on the low end. Pretty expensive though.

  • expensive? it's only $119.

  • That's about $50 more than a Big Muff Pi though.

  • Correction: it's about $50 more than a Big Muff Pi reissue. If you want the classic tone of a Big Muff, you will have to spend at least $120 (about $90 or so if you put it together yourself). The reissue isn't even worth $5, trust me. If you want a good fuzz for the price, get this one.

  • Fuzz faces and Big Muffs are really different. There's not a lot of overlap between them IMHO.

  • yeah the big muff has alot more compression and a mid scoop...the fuzz face is more open sounding.

  • @ThePathofHavoc night &day

  • Over $100 = expensive for most people.

  • IF6WAS9 FUCKING AWESOME!!

  • IF all the hippiesssssss....cut off all their hairrrrrrrrrrrrrrr

  • Whaaa don't care!

  • I don't care! I don't care!

    If 6 was 9...what a song!

  • Hey Jack Black Dude!! Do you know what fuzz to use to get The Eagles of Death Metal sound? Anyone else out there know? I really love the fuzz tone they use...

  • i heard that they used little 15watt transistor amps to get the sound...they don't really use fuzzpedals live, i think

  • that may be right. i have a little 10 watt solid state, and its pretty much a fuzz pedal with a speaker

  • great dem. snakeskin boots and "crazy" at the end....

  • thank you jack black man

  • dude u sound a LOT like jack black

  • what setup are you using with this one? and how are you getting that awesome squealing sound there!?

    cheers

  • I can't remember...probalby the Dr Z MAZ 18....the squeals come from natural feedback of me not controlling the strings and muting them while playing...

    ROCK ON!

    GMD

  • hey,, im tryng to get an early david gilmour fuzz...

ive thinikng... the analog man bc108 or this one....

i already have a big muff ramns head,,

so kinda need the silicon fuzz...

wicho one you think will be more suitable... for david gilmour and hendrix sounds..

y use a hot rod deluxe..

    with a strat.

  • Gilmour and Hendrix used the fuzz face, which uses the same innards as this pedal. Can't speak for the analog man

  • true but the new fuzz face is based on a germanium transitor...

and teh fzz they used based on a silicon one..

the analogman sun face is anexact replicate of the fuzz face they used

but for the money this will be very conveninet...

  • That's what I'm saying, this is the same silicon type transistor as used by them.

But you're right about the money side, hella dollar for boutique pedals. I play a blues deluxe and im after an old fuzz face sounding pedal, thinking of going with this unit.

  • mmm}

i would go with the analogman...

but for the money this could be better...

Go to your local Store adn try this one with the analogman and you´ll see the differcens (cuase they are)

The analogman is better... i think boutiquepedals are WAY better because of they are hadnmade

and MXR is made by machines...

with poor qualitie parts...compared to the boutiquepedasl...--

just try thenm i will save a couple of bucks more for the analogman

  • WHOA he does n all!

  • Sweet demo man. What kinda pickups you got in your SG? Are they real relics, or did you just pop some Bareknuckles or something in there?

Anyways, this thing sounds pretty sweet. Loved the chord at 5:30. Clear but fuzzy.

    (you sound like chris) ROCK!

    notGMD

  • they're just the stock pickups...probably burstbuckers of some sort....

    ROCK ON!

    GMD

  • What do you mean? Nobody's ever told me I sound like Jack Black? I think I sound like Chris Rock...

    ROCK ON!

    GMD

  • yep...it does clean up when you roll down the guitar volume...definately a bargain of a fuzzbox

    ROCK ON!

    GMD

  • OK..you fall off the ship with a fuzz-box in each hand, an MXR Classic 108 and a Barber Trifecta, and have to swim for shore carrying only ONE in your mouth...which one floats away ?

  • Both.

I own a Zvex Fuzz Factory which I wasn't stupid enough to take on a ship with me :)

  • the MXR floats away....the barber goes to the island with me for sure...gotta have my fuzz while stranded, and coconuts alone won't do it.....great question though...

    ROCK!

    GMD

  • sick pedal!

    great tones!

    hope there isn't

    a wait on production...

  • I've tried them all and this is a buy over the Fuzzface in my opinion because of the 9v power jack.

  • this or a fuzzface? AAHH i can't decide

  • This - consider it an better version of the Fuzz Face

  • ya after constant hours looking i did decide on this... it gets the fuzziest and coolest IMO

  • That's one nasty fuzz! You've got a pretty good variety, which one is your favorite and have you tried out the ZVEX Fuzz Factory or any kit versions (GGG or BYOC). Great vids!

  • GMD what is the chance you could demo/shootout this fuzz with the dunlop JH-F1 fuzz face? they say they are practically the same circuit but I'm not convinced. A demo comparing these two would be incredibly helpful.

  • Do you think you could do a demo of this fuzz with some low, slow, heavy riffage, a la Sleep or The Sword?

  • Hey great demo, but I have a question that I've been trying to answer for a while. I've had this pedal for over a month, and I can't use it without the buffer switch because theres oscillation. I like the sound way better without the buffer switch so I was wondering how I could get rid of the oscillation. My pedal chain is: Vox Wah/Budda Wah (both create oscillation), tubescreamer, fuzz, chorus, flanger, and delay. Im pretty sure the wah is causing the oscillation.

  • is the wah buffered? if not place it after the fuzz.

  • yah its true bypass but i figured out what was creating oscillation. It was my pedal tuner and tubescreamer, so i put my chain as wah-fuzz-tubescreamer... and on. But it works perfectly now.

  • killer boots man!

  • Can you do a demo with stratocaster and silicon mxr fuzz?

  • yep...will do!

    ROCK!

    GMD

  • How much is this pedal in the US?

  • They're $120....

    ROCK!

    GMD

  • Will you please do a demo with a Stratocaster?

As soon as possible... please GMD?

  • Clean up his amp up and this thing still was spittin mega fuzz.

  • man when you turn it up around 2:45 and do that first lick... it just sounds like sex, man.

  • great demo! you make that one sound really good!! 5 *****

    Rob

  • if it's not much of a trouble, can you do a shoot out between the red fuzz vs. JH fuzz vs. MXR sili fuzz?

  • yah! demo demo it german god

  • Good, good, really good demo. Love it. I think I gotta go get one of those, love the sound.

  • Hendrix rules!!

  • Thanks for the demo. Sounds like another version of the silicon Fuzz Face, and with the convenience of an adapter jack, easy-access battery door. I tried your LUTHER pedal in front of various fuzz pedals, and the LUTHER brightened the middle frequencies, making the overall sound less muddy.

  • Thanks. Was going to write you and ask you to demo the 108. Cross-atlantic ESP, I guess. Great demos. Keep going!

  • just got mine last week LOVE it

    nice demo! rock and roll!!!

  • So gearmanndude, when you get these pedals for comparison and shoot outs do you keep them all, send the one you don't want back, are you only testing it, how does it work because if you are keeping them all you sure are paying a lot of money!

    - Thanks

  • he wouldn't be gearmanndude if he didn't keep them. Greatest demo videos EVERRRRRR

  • could you please do a shootout between this and the jimi hendrix fuzzface

  • Great video man. I like this pedal too. With single coils, I believe this is my favorite fuzz. Keep the video's coming...your shootouts are the best comparisons I've seen. Loved the phaser one.

  • i just got mine a couple days ago and bam i see your review on here!

awesome pedal im really digging it as well, one thing to note from the manual and worth mentioning is that the buffer switch also should be engaged when used in front of a wah to cut down on the oscilation?

Im not exactly sure what it means but when i used it with my wah pedal i got no sound unless i had the buffer on.

    Keep em up coming gearman..

  • The oscillation is like a ring modulation sound that can occur in what pedals when following a distortion/fuzz using germanium transistors. It totally ruins the wah sound. However, by buffering the effect, the sound disappears. With this pedal its 97% gone...not quite 100%.

  • wah pedals...not what pedals...geeze I can't type today.

  • I love you demo's best on utube!

  • wow, nice demo man! That fuzz sounds fantastic!
