I grew up surfing southside in the 80s with Chris Menzie, Foster, Brandon Hayes...where ya at Brandon? Rob Ard SCSS Topper...jeez list goes on....RIP Clint Comstock...waves are still here 4 ya....Miss the times at Dream street, hanging out w Popp on Voltaire...Damn whered the time go? Dave Donahue
@daveddon Hi Dave, I was just looking to find vintage for my husband Brandon Hayes, as he surfed back in the 80's and I found this post. We both have been in Hawaii for almost 30 yrs. Do you know where I can find vintage photos, articles on Brandon, he's so very humble about it all, I want to surprise him. Thank you, Toni Hayes
I grew up between IB and OB (depending on where was cheaper) and never did we ever mess with anyone that wasn't a kook or a shoulder hopper. If you knew wave etiquitte, you wouldn't get hassled, it was only the Kelly Slater wannabees that got the shit. I live on the East Coast now and when I went home last year it was still a great vibe, no worries.
I have given my body up to that pier before figuring it was cheaper to fix me then the board!
Ive lived in SD since I was five. I came down to OB in 1994 and locals wanted to beat my me and my friends asses for just drinking on the beach.,....It was a heay locals only place............Now I live in OB and the place is over run with a bunch of east coast transplant kooks.......kinda sucks
Toni. Havent seen Brandon since 1982 Im not sure about any vintahe sryff, maybe talk to Robb Ard or Topper......uts been a while Dave

@lpickard64 Yea so true, I love the vibe there, as long as you're not a douche bag, you can surf.
