Have you ever worked in retail before?

A few candy wrappers is NOTHING compared to the colossal bulk of useable stuff that is thrown into the trash every day by retail stores.

@Vinifera7 That's the worst attitude to have, because Canada and the USA have a combined population of 330 - 350 million people. Even if each person threw away the equivlent of 1 gram of candy wrapper per year, that would put an additional 175 tonnes of garbage in landfills each year in those two countries alone. Then add every other "don't bother to recycle" item and see how it adds up.

Anyway, it's not MY attitude. I was making a statement of *fact* about the insane amount of waste produced by retail stores all across the United States.. every single day. In light of that, worrying about recycling effing candy wrappers is an insignificant gesture when it comes to alleviating the accumulation of trash in our landfills.

I actually bother to recycle most things: plastic bags, cans, glass jars, cardboard, etc.

I know lot more terrible things that pollute our environment on a much more massive scale than stupid candy wrappers. How about these parasites that occupy our government and serve the bankers and corporations. You get rid off them and believe the world will be a lot cleaner and beautiful.
