Your dad was the biggest influence on me when I first came to Jesus in 1992. I am still serving God today. May God bless him and your family for using his gift to help disciple many into a life of radical obedience to Christ. <3
@ccmforever there's a copy of this videotape in our house...but every time i see this guy i can't help but think "Chris jericho" cause he kinda looks like him.
To Steve Camp I want to say a personal thank you for all the beautiful music you have written over the years! The music that touched my soul and enriched my personal walk with the Lord in my youngers has truly been a blessing in my life and Steve Camp was one of those who I listend to.
Thank you so much for sharing you wonderful gift that has touched so many out there. God bless and when you make it to Heaven before me, I hope you'll pray for me because I don't deserve Heaven. JB
Steve is still around, but has stepped back from the mainstream music scene. My wife and I heard him in a small show when in New York in 2001 and spoke briefly afterwards. Have deap respect for his convictions and reasons for no longer going mainstream.
how can someone like steve sing a song like this? you would think he would not be a stranger to god and his holiness. he seems so sincere and inspired.
although i know the feeling about being a stranger, the feelings gone
Steve is the young adults pastor of a church in the US, and runs a ministry called audience of One - google that for his website. His wife left him and he hit a few hard times, but he continues to 'guard the trust'
Steve left CCM in 1999 to concentrate on other projects. He also wrote his "105 Theses" shortly before he left the industry to protest the commercialisation of CCM and their watering down of Biblical truth for the sake of record sales.
Steve became disenchanted with "the business" of Christian music because it became too much of just that, a business. He pretty much came out in the early 90s and denounced most of Contemporary Christian music as being no better than rock n roll and removed himself from it. It's a very personal thing for him, I assume. I wish he were still recording too. He is gifted and able to reach so many. But, he may be right in his stand.
@davidbruceworship It's my understanding that he divorced, and he remarried. Why do so many Christian singers divorce? I don't get it. Everytime I search the net about a Christian singer that I listened to all the time in my early walk, I read where this singer or that singer got a divorce. I'm just wondering. What gives?
Great video! Check out another powerful YouTube video reminding us of God's love for his children recorded by Sharon Morgan, at the age of 7. "Fearfully And Wonderfully Made - Voice Of The Children."
@marshallcamp13 Your dad was such a big part of my early Christian life. I was introduced to his music at Taylor University in Upland, IN. Going to his concert was like going to a worship service. It was uplifting, encouraging, convicting and inspirational. God used him in a powerful way.
@marshallcamp13 I will thank God for saving your dad, then. He pulled me out of the mud-stuck rut that I was in. Especially with this song and he covers me. I would be honored so much in this life to have the chance to be able to sit and talk with this man. He has a heart I feel is close to mine. I hope you can and are walking in the things that he has taught to you. God bless you
steve camp. i have been hearing his songs since 80s. wiw.. there you are..... thanks to youtube... thanks to the person that posted this video. but most of all...
Thank you Lord... for a Blessfull life you gave to you sons, your army, your people...
Steve is one of the best ever, and Stranger To Your Holiness is one of the best, and most underrated CCM songs ever written. Steve is one of the best, and most underrated singers and writers ever. Steve is a truly gifted brother.
you know, there is a lot of singer, who are singing about Jesus, but i really enjoy the songs by Steve Camp, because there is desire to know the God and this song is very good, perfect texts!
He aren't some superman, we are sinner, but there is Lord Jesus Christ, he paid for our sins and gave us His Love and Life!
I remember the first time I met Steve Camp. A group of us were gathered at TPAC in Nashville after Leon Patillo had performed with the girls who later became Vixen. We were terribly worried about Leon's soul. Steve put his arms around us and we all prayed for Leon.
This is the first time I've heard him and I am well pleased. I've subscribed and look forward to more. Good to see Bible believing song and lyrics being raised up. I'm a Family Radio listener. I'm happy newer biblically based songs are being sung. Praise God.
In a world where we need more truth, we need to pray Steve comes out with new music...One of the only people I have heard who "gets" it, he sings the truth, speaks the truth, and walks in the truth! I miss you Steve....
(go to Steve Camp in your search for his web site and writings)
Thank you so much.....this has blessed me more than you can imagine! I remember when I first listened to this song....I've been a Steve Camp fan for 20+ years! My first album was Fire and Ice and it was, and still is, one of my all time favourite albums....and I just love the collaboration of the musicians on his albums...Dann Huff, Jeff Porcaro, Michael Omartian, and other great musicians....
Great, inspirational. Steve Camp, where is he now? His music and devotion are very needed in today's christian music. I wish I could download this and more videos of Steve Camp. He is one of my heroes.
