I can tell she can sing but she just got nervous and she was all over the place. The National Anthem is a very difficult song to sing. I believe she started in the wrong key and it messed her up. At least she had guts to plow through.
@playingforpeanuts - You're just absolutely incorrect. A vocalist hears themselves from within their chest. Whether or not the sound system was cutting in and out should have absolutely nothing to do with her staying within one key. If anything, it probably distracted her and she got nervous, and that's a performance failure on her part. You absolutely cannot say that her jumping from one key to another to another was because of the mic turning on and off. She has a poor sense of pitch.
okay she has a beautiful tone! BUT the mics have nothing to do with her inability to sing on key she doesnt have a musical ear! no excuses she has a nice tone BUT is not a singer a singer can sing and stay on key EVEN through a faulty mic!
She's a terrible singer period. even though the mic wasn't working she could hear her own voice since everybody were quiet. Heck, i can even sing in tune in someone else's concert.
What happened was that there were two guys in the booth and one was like " shut her up " and the other was like " dude come on " then they were like fighting over the on and off button..
I think the guy up in the sound booth just got sick of listening to her butcher the Anthem.
And to all of the people who are saying that it was the sound that threw her off... the mic didn't begin to cut-out until well after she started sucking. It's also very unlikely that she had monitors to begin with, and that does not make up for the fact that she is obviously tone deaf.
@AngryActivist45 - Haha. Let me start over - "Wow, you have no idea what you're talking about."
My point is, we don't KNOW if she can sing or not. The mic (or PA, or both) wasn't working. If you're not aware how that can affect anyone trying to sing, then you're simply ill informed.
@AngryActivist45 - Wow, you guys are HARSH. Try this - put some earplugs in your ear and record yourself singing something. Then play it back. It's going to sound AWFUL.
a defective mic means defective monitors for her to hear herself... it is a very real possibility that she is a great singer. Its hard to sing acappella when you cant hear yourself. Maybe she awful..but she also may have a good reason..
RedRanger23, how in fuck would it be hard to hear herself when there was apparently no significant external noise? you and "put some earplugs in your ear" guy are just butt stupid. given most setups at ballparks, she'd be worse with the microphone working.
@RedRanger23 Yeh, she probably can't hear herself over the loud accompaniment.......lol. You don't need speakers to hear yourself sing when you're the only one making any noise. But, I do agree, it can be hard to sing acapella.
This chick sounds good. But she needs to learn to carry on the Same fucking keyy!!

Even though the constant key changing, you can tell that she has an excellent voice. I'd imagine that when there's music, she sings beautifully.

It would be nice if it was sung with the correct pitches :S

Fail. The mic did cut out periodically, but it would have been better if it stayed that way. Tone deaf for sure.
