El Paso needs to do something, the downtown area has potential. For Texas San Antonio and Austin have the best downtowns. San Antonio has the most downtown residents in Texas and the most lively, over 400 dining places, scores of clubs and nearly 30k residents. Followed by Austin Houston and Dallas.
Each loft has'nt sold, go their website?? They look great, I just cant imagine living in that area, kinda bad, and too much violence, and theres nothing to do or nothing open on the weekends! Plus there are no young couples in el paso, (target audience for a loft) with any money, they all move!
>>"...cant imagine living in that area, kinda bad, and too much violence"
the lofts are 1 block from the police dept., court houses, & fire dept.
>>"theres nothing to do or nothing open on the weekends!"
The Plaza, museums, The Percolator, El Pisto, Union Plaza Bar District, La Catrina, The Dome Bar, Cafe Central, Oasis Lounge, The Tap, Lynx Exhibit, Soho Lounge, Rulis, The Grounds, Mills Plaza, etc...
people in this town need to see the potential el paso has!
Its good to see that theres people out there with good ideas. BUT this is El Paso and I dont think theres people out there willing to pay very much for lofts in an area thats pretty ghetto.
turmoil, invisible borders, lots and lots of young people, a little wealth, poverty, and in between, great story, great vision, regardless of the rhyme and reason of the naysayer, rest a sure that it is going to work-its not hopeful thinking, but a fact!
Its a nice dream, but El Paso is a Poor Community and city.. its not Manhatten. What flys in other parts of the country wont substain here. And with the Government of Mexico about to collapse, who is going to want to be that close to the war zone?
It's always such a pleasure to hear negative comments about El Paso, seeing as that I'm from El Paso, you tend to get used to it. A invisible shield almost.
I actually do live in 'Manhattan' now. The possibilities that El Paso has are endless, it's a great idea & concept. And its a big change from the overpopulation of strip malls & shopping centers.
how much are these lofts going to go for

Thankfully El Paso has great people with a vision and a sense of urgency to develop something beautiful in our town. El paso, support your town.
