How to Draw Realistic Eyes (Photorealistic)

Hey, I got into drawing recently and photorealism may be done with just grey-scale pencils, charcoal etc. (like a desaturated photo) but are all the details a matter of work or is there some specific technique? :)

Mark. This is simply amazing. I love it that in the day and age of digital painting, you choose a rather inexpensive and "basic" medium to, frankly, show off your super amazing talent.

I'm in agreement with this and what you had to say afterward about hyperrealistic visual art. I spent some time at an art school that prioritized that aesthetic to a pointless extent.  Granted it's good practice and there are people like Ron Mueck who really do something spectacular with it, but there's hardly a point if it's hyperrealism for the sake of hyperrealism.
