Hey it is me again, from a looong time ago and I looked back at this and felt like an ass and I am trying to fix my computer since, w.o.w mucked it up. If I do I will raise 46$ for the game Mc and to apply... I hope you do not look down me from before. ;(
I love how people are such ignorant fucks who do not understand that the server has amazing builds and pay to play is one of the precautions to keep out griefers and idiots like you guys. Really to be honest I didn't like it too but it ended up being worth it. The work they put into entertaining the members. I think it is worth more then 10 dollars. By the way people Notch and his crew made the came but people and servers like this made the game more popular you dumb dogs.

one thing i dont get is how people say that paying 10$ is redictulas, but actually, this server is so epic i would pay 1000$ (not really, just lightning the mood). They spent months of their lives working on this for your enjoyment. So enjoy it and pay the small fee that can get you a epic, more, epic, and more and more epic awsome server to role play with friends :) just be happy what they give you. :)
@HammyNetwork it costs 200 dollars a month to keep the server running because of all of the great plugins and massive size of the server. Hopefully that puts into perspective why they ask for a mere 10 dollars.
Couldn't you pay $10 each with about 5 friends, and have a go at making a server pretty much exactly like it with a lot of effort? (all server's grow if there good)
@seigfried62 It is my understanding that Tales of Mel has to spend around 200$ a month to keep it running. So a 50$ server would not be the same experience like Tales of Mel, with a large active community and a great group of moderators and Admins who work hard everyday.

@IMxMultiMedia Actually, we're currently in the process of updating to 1.7. We tried a while ago, and it was unplayably glitchy, a problem with mobs spawning so much it lagged the game to 1 fps and you couldn't move. However, our plugin monkey fixed it, so we're updating.

@punpar It isn't ripping you off at all. If you don't think the server is worth the membership fee, you are under no obligation to purchase membership.
Guests have often participated in world events, however they are not allowed to join any factions or groups (as they are not Mel-Lenxian citizens).
The membership fee not only helps us keep the server funded, it also ensures that the people playing on the server really want to be there. This has kept the server grief free since it started.
@MelLenxia Yeah, actually it is. We've already paid to become premium on Minecraft, so why in the hell should we have to pay to be premium on the "Premium servers"? Its not cool. If you can't afford the server on your own, why put it up?

I am a student, I don't know about you, but I can't afford $200 a month. I don't think that should mean I can't dream to run a server (which is what I have done with the help of my friends). I think saying "if you can't afford it, don't put it up" is pretty unfair.
So, Let me get this straight. When you purchase, does this mean you play through it once, and thats it? or when you buy citizen does it last forever? or a certain period of time?
@leemo4lifey Hey mate, Mel-Lenxia isn't something that you "play through". It is a living breathing world that constantly changes over time. As a citizen you can play as long as you want before you have had enough (we have players who have been on the server for over 6 months). Guests are able to visit the world but can not get involved in any activities such as building, property purchases, gaining favour etc. Citizens (i.e. people who have payed the membership fee) can do all of these things.
You can apply on the website to get whitelisted as a guest, and then you can tour around Mel and talk to people before deciding whether you would like to pay or not(:

@Th3Fr33Burd Hey mate. There are two meanings to the word "die" in Mel-Lenxia. You can die in the usual way (i.e. you run out of hearts and you just re-spawn at the spoin point) or your chracter can die in RP. In either sense, you do not have to purchase a new character. People, there is a fee for joining the server because it costs ALOT of money to maintain the server each month (like 60 bucks). Also, that is the best 10 dollars I have ever spent. I have so much fun playing mel lenxia, I love the role play, the community, and the amazing beautiful world. THAT is why Mel-lenxia has made the spot for number one server mutlitple times.

However, the server costs are actually in the order of $200 each month (this can be seen in our financial reports), moreover, as people have said, the fee ensures that our server is filled with people who really want to play, not people who log-on to grief and troll. That is one of the reasons why our community is so friendly and willing to RP all the time :)

@UsArMyB1tBucKeT I play on free servers as well as Mel-Lenxia and I can tell you right now that paying to enter is SO much better. No random people can get in and greif the server, and everyone on Mel-Lenxia actually wants to be there for fun, not to troll people and stuff.

Man that is just sad.... I looked at your screenshots on your website. I saw alot of Ooc talks with no brackets of any-kind and it looks to me yeah its a fun server to play on and all but... what exactly is the player getting out of this other then fun... 10$ us.. now I know fun is not near worth that much enlighten me if I was to purchase... what would I be getting?
@imtoepicforu Hey mate, most of those screenshots were players talking in the OoC channel which..as you might be able to guess...is allowed to have OoC chat with no brackets. As far as "fun" not being worth $10, that is completely up to each individual player. That is why we insist players use the free guest pass before they pay the joining fee so they can come on the server and find out for themselves if they think it is worth it. You're welcome to come and check it out XD

@VenomDkoc That's a good question. In-game, our characters have to decide that for themselves. I like that about this server, have there's no defined line between good and evil. But I would have to say that the Mel-Lenxian empire were the evil ones for committing genocide. There's a faction, the Zealots, or 'rebels' that are on the Evil Wizard's side. The Evil Wizard's name is actually Melorean. But since I can fit so little into a comment on YouTube, you should probably check out the website.
@spyman328 Hey mate, thanks for the question. I am proud to say that 100% of local chat in Tales of Mel-Lenxia is completely in character. If we have to quickly say something out of character, we will put ((double brackets)) around the sentence, or we use the dedicated OOC channel.
So...yes...this is a serious RP server, players are always in character in local chat and that is something we, as a community, are really proud of.

Man that is just sad.... I looked at your screenshots on your website. I saw alot of Ooc talks with no brackets of any-kind and it looks to me yeah its a fun server to play on and all but... what exactly is the player getting out of this other then fun... 10$ us.. now I know fun is not near worth that much enlighten me if I was to purchase... what would I be getting?

@imtoepicforu Hey mate, most of those screenshots were players talking in the OoC channel which..as you might be able to guess...is allowed to have OoC chat with no brackets. As far as "fun" not being worth $10, that is completely up to each individual player. That is why we insist players use the free guest pass before they pay the joining fee so they can come on the server and find out for themselves if they think it is worth it. You're welcome to come and check it out XD

soo..one race genocides another race except one, and that one wants to genocide the race that genocided his, and our goal would be to finish off the genocide and kill that one person that is trying to get revenge for his entire race...
my question is...who is truelly the evil one? the first race to genocide, the "evil wizard", or us??

@VenomDkoc That's a good question. In-game, our characters have to decide that for themselves. I like that about this server, have there's no defined line between good and evil. But I would have to say that the Mel-Lenxian empire were the evil ones for committing genocide. There's a faction, the Zealots, or 'rebels' that are on the Evil Wizard's side. The Evil Wizard's name is actually Melorean. But since I can fit so little into a comment on YouTube, you should probably check out the website.

@spyman328 Hey mate, thanks for the question. I am proud to say that 100% of local chat in Tales of Mel-Lenxia is completely in character. If we have to quickly say something out of character, we will put ((double brackets)) around the sentence, or we use the dedicated OOC channel.
So...yes...this is a serious RP server, players are always in character in local chat and that is something we, as a community, are really proud of.
