The rimshot doesn't sound so amazing in this setup, but this is probably because rimshots sortof sound best when they are heard with some acoustics, where this is mostly close miking so you don't get too much body to it. When in a large space with a good snare, rimshots can be the most epic sound in the world!!! :D
