  • I hate Galloway anyway, but seriously....I've been playing the GTA games for 10 years and in that time I've never stolen a car or murdered anybody.

  • This is such a pile of shit. People who start blaming video games for violent incidents is a spanner of the highest order. I'm actually surprised Galloway believed this bullshit

Abdul isn't on fucking anything. He is just lauging at the bullshit spewing from Mr Galloway

  • @Shagrat65 i dont think hes blaming one game....people today lose their rag alot faster....there must be a reason for it woudlnt you say?

  • well i tend to disagree with george on this one, abdul is a pure twat!

  • it may ound funny but its true trust me, were controlled by the zionist through the medai, everything we do is alwaly associated and influneced by the media

  • Technically, if you speak out of a scientific perspective, Gta series have sold over 120 million copies,so it is safe to assume that over 120million people own a gta game, and that maybe even up to half a billion people have played a gta game. And out of those half a billion, maybe around 10-15 guys have done something bad and blamed it on the gta games, either by themselves or with the help of some asshole fundamentalists. So with such a tiny percentage, we can conclude it as being a coincidence

  • Abdul is so funny!

  • @Reqrezentin funny....in the head.

  • That was so clearly a fake laugh designed to annoy.

  • Imagine if Abdul wasnt a muslim, Geeeez, he'd be vaporized. On this rare occcsion, like lottery winning rare occasion, I agree with Galloway. GTA should be banned.

  • I don't think violence in entertainment like video games should be censored or removed but violence and so on shouldn't be shoved down our throats, either.

  • horror movies kinda suck in general

  • Yes, for the most part, people who watch and play these games or watch these films will not act in a violent manner, however, some people who have psychological problems may have their behavior triggered by such things. Anyone who looks at the gang culture in many of our cities and yet fails to realise it is often based on gangster rap and hip hop must be blind. Every generation for the last 60 years has been changed by the media, whether you accept that fact or not.

  • i think gta 4 is actually a moral story and 1 which speaks about corruption , the lowest forms of humanity and the drug trade . however most people skip these messages and just want the violence.

  • Unfortunatly. George doesnt really understand GTA games. The only people who take GTA further than a game have problems. If there are kids playing it who arnt mature enough to understand it, then that is their parents fault. True, there always will be a few idiots influenced by it, but you could say that about anything, eg. films or books. GTA is indoresing the behaviour, it is a game, no more than that. And a fucking great one too. George is a clever guy, but he doesnt get that.

  • I am a big fan of Galloway, but he is short-sighted here.

Galloway is right that art influences reality - but its reality from which all art emerges. We wouldn't have nearly as much fun with GTA if it weren't an believable depiction of criminal life. That doesn't mean, however, that it will influence our behavior - like how any movie or cartoon with violence doesn't turn us in to psychos.

Getting rid of violence requires changing social conditions - not attacking its mirror: art.

  • What cunt I've played the GTA games Mortal Kombats, Duke Nukem, Doom and I've watch crazy shit like Dexter, House of 1000 corpses and all kinds of other shit and that hasn't made me wanna do fucked up shit to ppl! Games and Movies have nothing to do with it. People who do that stuff are fucked up in the head to begin with and some of them might be crazy because of their family. So STOP BLAMING GAMES, MUSIC, AND MOVIES!!!

  • fool. gta is great. i bet gorgeous george loves it really.

thing is, the "media absorption" argument that galloway expounds has legs but only if you apply it to very young children who may be influenced. that's why IT's GOT AN 18 CERTIFICATE.

  • Hahaha, "Excuse me, I'm talking about a Wideo - Video game here."

(Indian people will get that one.)

  • gta4 is ace, couldnt give a fuck about george galloway

  • it'll be really ace when someone who has been affected by the game slits your throat :D

  • I remember this guy when I listened to George he is such a fuckin twat...What twat likes 'killing ppl' ?

  • "What twat likes 'killing ppl'?"

I agree people who enjoy killing people are scum, but the fact remains that this is a game and not real life.

Not enough study or scientific reports have been done on the subject of games. Untill then people should keep an open mind otherwise these games would have been banned allready.

  • an 'abdul' likes killing badbusta4lyf =p

  • i personally do not think that violence in video games is a problem, but i dislike too much "quentin tarantino" violence, as it shows a lack of decent storyline. i like ff.

  • abdul is not what u could call a interlectual heavyweight

  • The way the guy was laughing I would guess he most likely wasn't an 'Abdul'

  • abdul must be high lmao

  • oh so THATS IT

  • Abdul fails.

  • I feel upset now. boo hoo.

    keep on swallowing elecaptano.

  • I think Galloway is wrong. Simulated violence in a game, in a virtual reality, shouldn't be compared to things like fashion, which are based on the idea that you SHOULD do this in real life, etc.

  • You cant blame everything on the media..

If GTA was so influencial then every single player would be out bashing people.

  • .....that's seriously your argument, dude? That's like saying "if Karl Marx was so influential, every single person that read him would become a Communist".

Give that "Audio Preview" button a click before posting your comments, bro.

  • you're stupid

  • The world's just a messed up place.

  • It fucks me off that Abdul is a complete and utter fucktard.

He could've brought up the fact that GTA4 is pretty moral in the sense that Niko doesn't indulge in Drugs or drink, nor does he particularly like getting with Whores, but he will do anything to protect his friends and family.

I think that's a pretty good message, tbh.

  • I hates violence but he loves Islam

  • People wish to ban GTA 4 for inciting and arousing violence.. but they never target Hollywood for its' violent films... Besides mature people should be able to play GTA 4 without being criticized for being violent people.

  • lol... goerge galloway is loved even when he's Hated. Everyone knows he's the hero of the oppresed...its not his fault he can see through the biased powers of the world. Respect to him, as he is the only one with balls to say what his heart believes. go on goerge, fight for the freedom, peace and rally against all wars.

p.s. suicide bombin is totally wrong and true muslims never resort to suicide.. you dont go to heaven for killing innocent ppl. YOU GO TO HELL. GOD is GREAT. peace to all.

  • would you like me to be the cat???..prick

  • thats bullshit george!!!! they didnt have midia and video games in the medievil ages and they still shoved hot pokers up arses back then...if your evil your evil.

  • Uh no. They lacked the morals and ethics in the medievil ages that exist today, the value of a human life was worth less in the medieval ages. that's why they "shoved hot pokers up arses back then..." Nothing more, nothing less. It's an empirical fact..a FACT that humans, and especially young children immitate what they see and hear. Now to ban certain images from soceity is another matter, but please don't fall into the lazy trap of blaming violent acts on evil, it solves nothing.

  • i like george galloway ,but i disagree with his point of view here ..grand theft auto is an 18 certifcate game for over 18s only...and just because people play the game ...doesnt mean they will copy the actions in the game.unless they are just evil and insane to carry out sick acts they see in gamees...i would go out shooting people dressed in army camoflauge just cos i played a war game...so its a stupid point of view .i do agree that some games and movies do go over the top though

  • Some people are highly influenced by what they see and what they're told. It's nothing to do with being evil or insane.

  • When people criticise and blame games like GTA, they cite examples of violence and attach tags like 'young people' and 'young teenagers'. Their whole argument falls apart with the fact that GTA and most other violet games carry an 18 certificate. Browse any number of gaming forums and you'll come across kids who are playing games like GTA. That's not the fault of game companys, its the fault of retailers and more significantly the parents of these under-age players

  • And on the topic since George seems to love Islam and Muslims so much , that book Qu'ran is a much more violent book then GTA4 and people really believe that is how they should live and act in there life.

If you ban GTA4 you should first ban the Qu'ran.

  • no batavian , they should ban your mother from sexually assaualting animals first.

  • It's like suggesting people will start jumping off buildings and thinking they can fly because of reading superman comics.

  • The game GTA4 is for adults only meaning you have to be 18 years or older in order to play it.

    It's a game it's not real life.

  • Square button, triangal button. I can now see videogames as part of the conditioning process. Watch Clockwork Orange. This is a good example of conditioning.

  • GTA4 has influenced the way i drive. I find myself doing dangerous u-turns. The game numbs the mind and makes violence more acceptable. I know this because i have just been on it for 5 hours. For me it is a quick fix although i would much rather get into a good book. Games pre-condition people, the way tv does.

  • It sounds to me like you are obviously amongst the percentage of the population whose brains are to soft to be able to handle and process information at the high rates of speed that playing video games offer.

It is recommended that you try playing games more suitable to your intellect, such as "tic tac toe" or "pin the tail on the donkey".

  • No, the problem is that i find playing these games too easy. Intelect does not come into the equation. It is a matter of conditioning the mind into pressing the triangle, square, circle or x button. When i press the square button, the polygonic man jumps. Yes my friend, you have to be special to play, and i am sure you are.

  • i love George Galloway but i love Niko Bellic more :) srry george lolz

  • it's dick heads like the guy who rang who don't have the inteligence to see a game as fiction and think that they can can make there pathetic life better by copying a cartoon game

  • Well said!

  • But people also have the intelligence to filter out the fantasy from the reality, and try to strike a more balanced chord when manufacturing games, films, books etc

  • Abdul your a fool,

GTA4 is a daft game 'if you think about it,

example : kicking a innocent person in and high-jacking the car.

  • Mate I love Galloway

But only a nut would follow a game, but it's not the games fault. The nut could get the same message from a violent book.

  • Books are a million times better than videogames.

  • Yes I agree with that 100%. Both of them however, can draw you into there world in much the same way. Although admittedly, video games are obviously much more interactive.

From a story telling aspect, I think that the creation of a video game storyline can offer an interesting medium for telling a tale. I would love to be involved in the writing process for a video game.

  • Yes I love books, but games are good too.

A bit of color in life does no harm.

  • Blaming society's ills on computer games...

Sounds alot like George "W" Galloway is more of a fundamentalist Christian than we thought.

  • how is "blaming society's ills on a computer games..." being a fundamentalist Christian?

  • George Galloway=salad tossing git

  • Galloway is a fool all he has to do is open a history book and arguably the most terrible crimes have been committed before tv, mass advertisement. He can't argue something without facts. He doesn't name 1 study that shows a link between films/music/computer games and violence. If anything his favourite tv show Al Jazerra shows more gruesome events than any film or computer game, therefore I suggest we shut down all news channels to prevent kids from de-sensitising themselves. George=Looser

  • Actually he linked numerous studies.

  • I like Galloway but I believe on this one he is wrong.

  • I think his main concern is with the extreme examples from society, where children are distanced from their family's and main influence in life is from what they see and do with their TV sets, and this is a very real problem and leads to all kinds of social disorders, where people might go around trying to relive what they do in a game like GTA.

I play a game like GTA in order to have fun where non of the actions have implications on anyone or anything, in reality I wouldn't hurt a fly.

  • George i've agreed with you on EVERY point you've ever made, up until now. People see movies, games, as a form of entertainment, an escapists fantasy. Now, if people see Julius Caesar stabbed in the back at the theatre, or on telly, that doesn't turn them into knife wielding murderor's. Like wise, Computer games are entertainment, unlike the Iraq War which is reality, it's real events like the war that affect people. The more people see death, the more they realize just how prescious life is =)

  • I quite agree. The idea of banning forms of entertainment because some stuffy middle aged men in the Commons disapprove of it, who do not understand video games and are very often technophobes, is just not on. I bet these same men enjoy watching the gratuitously violent plays of Shakespeare, like Hamlet and Macbeth. These games have already been regulated through the certification system - banning them is disproportionate, misconceived and hypocritical.

  • Old george takes everything so literally, he's showing his age! I like GG alot but he is going down to defeat at the next election.

  • Your giggling like an idiot Abdul..George is the man....

  • what a foolish caller

  • This is sooo funny!

  • I love George Galloway but I do not agree with him on this point.

  • the same

  • Yus. Likewise.

It's not that I disagree that these sorts of games shouldn't be the standard for entertainment, but moreso the fact that he overstates the effects these games have on people.

In reality, they don't have much of an effect at all. That's the thing though, there is a reality, and as a people we have a firm grasp of what that is.

  • Hilarious!

  • What nonsense. As if people mindlessly imitated everything they are shown like robots. Do Sims players buy all kinds of overpriced stuff and try to build graveyards in their garden? No. Ads work in an entirely different way than video games.

  • "I'm against violence, unless it's aimed against America or israel, in which case I support it"

  • ur probably a right wing asshole, am i wrong?
