  • Those are the same pickups Paul uses in his Fireman?

  • Presumably there's a boost somewhere?

  • @zombielolocaust - No boost. Guitar plugged straight into a crunchy Splawn Nitro. - Carl Roa

  • your sick ... i mean great

  • @nemtall - I've been getting over a cold ... oh ... Thank you! - Carl Roa

  • How are the clean sounds on the Injector pickups???

  • @gorfjorf2112112 - you can get great clean strat tones with the Injectors. They also respond nicely to rolling down the guitar volume. I will be working on a clean demo of these pickups soon. As well as a demo of other Dimarzio's. - Carl Roa

  • Nice playing and awesome tone! Please let me know what value of volume & tone pot did you use for this pickup in this guitar to achieve this tone? 250k or 500k? Thank you.

  • @rschua7 250

  • @rschua7 - I actually have a 250k pot in this guitar. My tech admitted it was an accident! But it sounded good, so we left it! - Carl Roa

  • I've got an Area '58 in the neck, '67 in the middle, and a '61 in the bridge. I have been struggling with these pickups for about a year and have decided it's time to move on to something else. The Injectors seem to be a more balanced pickup whereas the '58 and '61 are bright and thin sounding to me. I may try these Injector's in the neck and bridge.

  • Sweet Strat!!! It sounds great into that Splawn. I'm thinkin of gettin one but I would have to sell my Mesa V to afford it but I might just have to after hearin this!

  • @MrRsan1010 I do hope you're joking... It's the amplifier that stands for most of the sound, think of the pickups as spicing, not the actual meal.

  • @Xaederaz Agreed. But of course, sticking with the food theme here, the amp is just like a bland piece of chicken - it's the actual food as you've put it, but the olive oils, herbs, and basting really make it come alive ala the pickups. Both are equally just as important...but then again you've got the actual guitar to worry about...what's that gonna be, seasoning?

  • @Xaederaz i also hope you're joking. food is not a valid metaphor for a fricken rockin' guitar amp \m/

  • I really like the sound of Injector here for high gain. Much more than Paul Gilbert's clips with these. Not a fan of that real plinky Area tone. I hear that in ever clip of these pickups. I'll stay with the real deal for that. Maybe some day they will be able to make a great noiseless single coil that sounds right.

  • It's great in the bridge. Ultra fat, Girthy, it bites, growls and ROARS. great bridge.

But I still say the Steve Vai Breed Neck is the most tank neck pickup because it's more articulate on high gain settings, and then you've got the strat setting in the middle pickup (or middle switch setting for us double humbucker people)

  • nice playin man great job!

  • I so totally understand that face he's making when rocking out....sometimes you just have to look like you smell sh*t. Because its just a stinkin' nice, fat, thick riff!!! I LIKE!!!

  • nice guitar

  • I like the whole EVH theme with the tone woods and A 2 magnets, and those Red Bear picks sound great..

  • Awsome guitarface

  • Killer tones!

  • Nice playing, but a demo of their clean sound would be useful, if you could do that, it would be awesome. please.

  • great demo!

  • Extremely impressive all around. Those DiMarzios sound amazing, as does the rest of the chain. Outstanding!!! I want those pick-ups!!! Scary chops here, this guy can really play. I'm gonna go practice now.

  • Smokin! Killer chops and tone ... Carl sounds awesome with these single coils.

  • the neck one sounds like a cruiser :)

  • Sounds Awesome!!!!!
