  • can you help me find this "1 - 5p to 30p air trimmer" i have looked everywhere and can not find it... possibly a link to it or a replacement.

  • please tell me the coil's henry and frequency of the transmitter.

  • plz tell me the coil's henri and the feqvance of the trasmittar.

  • Complete schedule on my website: silaseletronica.webnode.com.br

  • @dazaro3

Can you tell me where I can buy (online) the electret mic?

    Thanks.

  • I only have condenser electret mic's layign around, which require a mini driver circuit to run them.If I add the driver circuit to this, do you think it will work?

  • Bravo! Very well done, video and project.

  • not being funny or anything, but i dont really want a 35cm antenna wire coming off a bug if its meant to be discreet.

  • What is the use of this?

    thanks!

  • @marc1979Guitare

The small mic will pick up sounds and send them

over the Air to any FM radio ,you can hear a pin drop

from 30 feet away! used for Wildlife, Surveillance

    and more .

  • @dazaro3 Can i make portable short-wave transmitter? I want range to be alot more

  • what should i use to listen to this ?? should i use a separate receiver or a just a normal radio ???

    :D

  • is the 4.7 pf capacitor needed? cuz i cant find one

  • Could you provide a link where we can download your circuit board printing please?

  • I feel like a dumbass for asking, but, what is this for?

  • @outspolsis Basically it is like a radio except other people hear what you say , abit like a mini radio station.

  • Very Nice!!!

  • how long must be the antenna

  • @MatthewNoah1 nice

  • Do you need a power amplifier to increase the range?

How long must be the antenna?

  • Why does the schematics say 330ohm instead of 360ohm...will it make any difference???

    Please reply...Thanks..

  • Ingenious. Two thumbs up. By the way, the music is great what is the name of the song. Thanks. Do you make and sell this? I am interested in getting one.

  • can i replace the mic with jack to connect for guitar?

  • can a 2-22pf trimmer work ???

  • @dazaro3 can u please please tell me alternatives to the air trimmer capacitor and copper enamel wire !!!!! Please :) :) :) :)

    Thanks !!!!!!!

  • WHAT EXACTLY IS THE TRIMMER CAPACITOR ?

WHAT SHOULD I TELL THE VENDOR TO GIVE ??

    @dazaro3 ...please reply !

  • how do we find out what station to tune to to hear the fm transmission?

  • @GeneralPretzle You take the FM receiver you want to listen on and tune the transmitter to that by turning the variable capacitor to change it's transmit frequency..

  • @pyromaneak47 Have FUN! Should be a great little project for you.

  • @pyromaneak47 The most expensive part will be the PC Board, so I recommend you use something called "perf board" instead to keep cost down. It is a grid of holes and each hole has a copper pad to solder to. Check and see if you have an electronics surplus store where you live that just sells components. Take your schematic and get them to help you pick out the parts. The parts in the video above can be had at mine for under $4.

  • @pyromaneak47 That's not exactly how it works, but that's a good initial assumption. The output power is limited by how much the transistor amplifies the microphone signal. The coil and capacitor that you turn make up a "tuned circuit" and changing it would alter frequency. The coil inductor and capacitor are dependent on each other.

Equation: 2*pi*F= 1/sqrt(("coil value in henries")*("capacitor value in farads"))

The antenna need not be tweaked for distance. (the transistor is what amplifies)

  • @pyromaneak47 Not theoretically, you can do that exactly :-) The ceramic tuning capacitor (the teal one you turn) is what determines what frequency it transmits on. It's a classic LC oscillator.

  • @pyromaneak47 It picks up sound over the microphone and transmits it to an FM radio. I believe the transistor amplifies the mic minimally as well.

  • @pyromaneak47 A car radio, or any radio that will receive FM broadcast radio.

  • the antenna is made out of simple wire right

  • 1000pF 500V Ceramic Capacitors the same as a 1n ceramic capacitor?????

  • For your inductor (coil), what is that value in henries? I'd like to explore buying an off the shelf inductor with a fixed value, since the variable cap is doing the tuning anyway. Thanks!

  • awesome mini transmitter, i have just made one using your design but when i powered it up with 3v nothing happened i could not find a trasnsmision of any fm channel ( i thoroughly tinkered). the only differences to my design is instead of using an axil cap on the power i used a ceramic and my trim cap is rated at 6.3p-30p. please help me im desprite to get your desing working. many thanks.

  • i wanna recieve the emitted sound on my walky-talky but they goes from 446.00625MHz to 446.09375MHz so what will i have to change to be able to recienve them??

  • what would you sell one for? And what did it cost to make one in U.S. dollars? -Thanks! and great build!

  • spelt penny wrong and idc

  • nvm comment below

  • whats 90p? 90 penneys?

  • I know it was probably mentioned in the video, but i can't be buggered watching it again, so, what frequency was this transmitting at? and if you can listen to it with your car radio, couldn't anyone else that does a scan on there car radio pick it up?

If they could, how would you make one so that it was transmitting to a unique fequency, so that only you could pick it up with some other kind of device? if you know what i mean.

  • One last bit of advice: if you will pursue becoming a ham radio operator, you will have no shortage whatsoever of free instruction, help, advice, parts and materials, and friends all over the world who WANT to help you succeed. Not to mention that you will learn everything you are WILLING to learn about electronics, electronic hobbies and all the jobs you can get! Not to mention it is awesome talking to other hams all over the world on a small, cheap station you built yourself! Good luck!

  • To you beginning kit builders, may I recommend that you find someone in your neighborhood who is willing to be your 'go-to' guy; someone willing to answer your questions and give you advice...a ham radio operator, the engineer at a TV or radio station, a tech at an electronics repair facility. Also, learn all about, and take great pride in learning to solder PROPERLY, and take a basic electronics course; available for free on the net. This hobby can become a profitable job for you some day!

  • I commend you on the quality of your assembly; VERY nice job. To others who may wish to build this kit or other similar projects, and concerning what voltage rating your components should be: generally, if you are using a 9-volt battery to power the device, it is a good idea to use parts rated approximately twice your supply voltage. Just remember that the higher the voltage or current rating, the larger the part will be. In this kit it is important to be as small as possible!

  • the diagram says 3v but you use 9v... this is not accurate. can you show me the real schematics?

  • @jorkey0roblox

It does not show in this video using 9v.

    Its a 9v battery clip

    2 x 1.5v cells in a battery holder with PP3-type terminals

  • @dazaro3 ohhh ok, well i have most of the supplies to make this but in your schematic its says the capacitors are 1n, 4p7, 22n, and your ressistor is 4k7... im american and your british? arent you? I have not seen these, and i looked on the internet for conversions but they dont seem to help. do you know?

  • @jorkey0roblox 3V is the minimum voltage. the 2n3904 transistor can run on max 40v

  • please send me the picture of the circuit board

    thanx

  • does 4.7p mean 4.7pf? like are they the same?

  • where can i buy a 5p to 30p trimmer??

  • what is the chemical?

  • man can you post me a good frequency counter circuit diagram because i cant find a cheep one in my country ...and i no you don't want to read these stupid comments because i wouldn't read them...: ) just make an exception for this one

  • what if insert a MP3 PLAYER signal instead of the mic? will that work?

  • why is the antenna so long, can i make it a short on elike 10 cm or something or wihout one

  • Will you sell me one? :)

  • do the parts have to be exactly the same like the ceramic trimmer capacitor

  • awsome!!!!!

  • how do you know which type of resistor, transistor, and capacitor to use? Im almost positive that you don't just arbitrarily put any...

  • what is the power of the resistors?

  • can i make it without PCB?

  • How much will you charge me to make me one

  • pretty smart guy...

  • Hey can you send me the lay-out of the PCB it would be so nice i was searcing around the f..king web pleas it will be so help full

  • Mouser actually has a lot of mics to choose from;

    mouser.com/Search/Refine.aspx?FS=TRUE&N=4292975598+1525695+4294735016+1323043

  • im nt sure abt hw 2 affix the antenna?

  • Thanks for replying....

  • if you can tell me volt of all items it will be awusum.....

  • what is voltage of capacitors?

I went to shop ,the person asks me for voltage....?????

    ---

    Plz tell me the voltage

  • @teanager008

All items are 15v all the way up to 100v will work ok.

  • @dazaro3 wtf

  • @teanager008 the capacitor voltage has to be greater than the supply voltage

  • it took me like a year to do the PCB board. but if dont know how to do it with a printer i broke the lid of a pen got a sloppy version of the PCB board. but it works

  • how many dollars is approximately 90p? please answer.thanks

  • where can i buy all the parts. ??????

    in EU.

  • Good way of making my self a iPod transmitter :P or a pirate radio station >:)

  • a BC 547 C transistor would work better ....

  • Whats the coils real configurations ????

  • @DUKKU1

6 -8 turns 3mm ,depends on what transistor is used,

but a 6 or 8 turn will work with most NPN transistors

  • hey , whats the specifications of the coil, in the circuit design you have given 8 turns and in the video 6 turns. Whats the real value ?

  • do u have to cover ur pcb in ferric chloride?

  • hi budy DAZARO3 plz explain the values of the components used in this video because i just know the (uf, ohm, V)

    waiting for ur response

  • can you give the capacitors in farads please?

  • will a electrolytie capacitor work instead of ceramic?

  • PCB file?

  • Hi, I gonna try it.

Can I use an enamel copper wire from a transformer for the coil? I need to remove the wire enamel?

To find the frequency I need the trimmer + the radio dial?

    Are many questions!

    Thanks!

  • @Neodymio Now i see better, is enamel coil.

  • Nerd

  • I cant seem to find the ceramic trimmer capacitor anywhere, I live in hte U.S. Any site you would suggest.

  • @1lovesoni Mouser electronics has the trimmer (part # 81-TZ03R300F169B00) and the microphone.(part # 665-POM2738PC33R) Also in the USA the 22n cap is a .022uf and the 100n is a 0.1uf. For some reason they don't list as nano-farads here..

  • "It costed 90p" well i don't know the currency around there , that means 90 pennies < 1pound ?

  • @TheKaos90 90 pennies is correct less than £1 or $2 or 1 euro 30 cents

  • remember when i use do these kind of stuff at school. (I went to a special developed program that was called "Electronical Engineering and Computer Science".

    AWESOME!!!!!!! video! 5/5 easy!

please do more! I'm starting to become a fan. ;D

  • i realy cant wait to build it it looks so awsome and can any body hear what you are hearing

  • before i click to this video, i've checked the username involuntary. and it's because of fuking kipkay.

  • Where can i get this "picture" From circuit board.

  • i just dont know where to get the parts

  • in da schematic is 8turn so why u make only 6 turns?

  • Cool

  • Comment removed

  • i wouldnt what to be in ur house :P haaha

  • what would happen if you stick your finger in the ferric chloride

  • Thanks for sharing...very interesting!

  • ok so i just got done attemping to build this and i failed i think i have the wrong air trimmer and a few other parts but i tested it and i got nothing.... where would i be able to buy this as a kit.... i think i would have a better chance at it that way

  • Dear Sir: Question, pardon the ignorance. If you were to built/have say, 4 or 5 together, will this increase the range? Yes / No Will be sufficient. Explanation would be welcome : -)

  • if you want to connect an minijack to it, would you connect it on the same spot as the mic?

  • This is great but where do you buy all the bits from?

  • @leknifmy jameco(dot)com is a great place

  • wow u made that for 90 cents very nice job !!!!

  • it don't works

  • @ghostman982

They do work very well ,we make and sell 100s

    of them every year.

When you start making them they can be hard to find

out what frequency it is running on ,thats only if

its been made very well.best to use a cheap frequency counter

to is if its working and if so then you will see what

frequency its on ,abour £15 on Ebay.

  • @dazaro3 can u use a stereo jack instead of the mic to use it as auxiliary input jack for an MP3 or IPod? and then transmit the music via fm?

  • where can i get these items?

  • Why doesn't the schematic and the parts list match?

  • I made myself a super spy bug transmitter, but it doesn't work!

I used a 223k ceramic capacitor in place of the 22n axial ceramic capacitor, would that be the problem?

Also, when soldering the parts in does it matter if the parts heat up to the point we're they are hot to touch, is that real bad for the parts?

One more thing, how does it have to be tuned in, what station/frequency?

  • @dazaro3 Do you have a schematics sheet? When you say a mic, How many dB's and the power required? You also said 90p for the cost. what is p? Pennies

  • Any alternatives to the 360R resistor??

  • hey man, whats that 360R resistor??? cant seem to find it in the electronic shop. its not a typical 360 ohm resistor? i think it's not.

  • @johnlovejenet

    Hello

    The 360R is a 360 ohm

  • @johnlovejenet dude 360R means 360 ohms, 360K means 360KiloOhms, 360K2 means 360.2 KOhm 10M2 mean 10.2 MegaOhms

The letters serve as function of magnitude and also as a decimal point.

Get it? this is the Tech world. Learn it or don't mess w it. you will hurt yourself.

  • What have i to do if i want instead the mic a 3.5 mm earphone plug?

  • You should sell me one

  • can you make me one ?

  • @dazaro3 can put link for image of the pcb layout?

  • hey dazaro3 :) I just wanted to ask.....

is the sound of this transmitter mic clear and loud ???

  • @nazi2leader

Yes ,the sound is very clear ,you can hear a pin drop from over 20 feet!

  • may i buy one? lol

  • For 90p you made that little teensy weensy transmitter. Now imagine what someone could do with some real money! you could make one fit inside a button! orite, yea.

  • have somone tried this out?? Has I worked?

  • where can i print that pcb layout pls give me that link

  • Hi, thanks for the video, I really wanted to have a go at building one of these, but I can not find the (22n axial ceramic capacitor) that you refer to in the vid.

Any assistance you could give me would be greatly appreciated......

    Yours sincerely

    S. Stalgis

  • @mrzigscott A 22n axial ceramic capacitor does the same job as a 22n radial ceramic capacitor, or (i forget if they're the same thing, but) a regular ceramic capacitor. any 22n ceramic should do. he maybe just used the axial because it was more form fitting, but shouldn't notice any bad things happening with your radio if you change the shape of your cap. other than that the axial cap is less obtrusive.

  • dude can u send me that circuit board print out?

  • can i use a audio jack instead of a mic?

  • can you send me the circuit board my mail is nick0418@live.nl

  • can you send me the circuit board my mail is nick0418@live.nl

  • can u add a camera to this circuit?

  • this not work i cant find suitable radio statio

  • Nice little transmitter, I used to spend hours making things like that, Then i started making push/pull transmitters they were more stable and a lot more power out Sayin that i used to use 2N3866 Transistors and run them too hot to touch so you needed a heat sink.... Good Vid!

  • can we use 1-5p to 30p air trimmer ???? instead of ceramic trimmer capacitor- 5.2-30pF?

  • @francisroan

    Yes thats fine

  • @dazaro3 can you send me the PCB design?

  • can you make one that runs on three 3volt watch batteries? the small circular ones since it adds up to 9 volts, couldn't you just use those to make it smaller?, a nine volt battery is pretty big.

  • Comment removed

  • you are good!

  • were did you buy all of this?

  • can I use a 2 nf capacitor instead of a 1 nf?

  • how would i be able to connect ipod instead of using a microphone

  • Sorry, but as I really can't find the unit nf, can you convert these in pf or uf? Thanks!

  • I can't find the 4.7pf capacitor, only the 4pf or 5pf, which one can I use? Neither can't find the 22n (that's equal the 0.022uf - can I use this one? This axial would be the same as the lamination capacitor?

  • @ivielvis

4 of 5pf will be fine ,if you can not find a 22nf use 1nf or 10nf

  • Can you use a lower voltage on this say 5v, 3v or even 1.5 and what are the affects? shorter distance that it transmits??

  • Hi i need your help. I have trimmer on 3.0 - 40 pF and 4.0 - 40 pF

which i need to take. this trimmer are with 3 wires. Its ok and how i need to connect that 3 wires?? Thank.

  • One more question - do I need to have a PCB? do the components have to be very close together, can they be apart connected with 22 gauge wire? I'm new, just for testing purposes, eventually I will build it on a PCB.

  • Will 1/4W resistors work fine, and will 50V ceramic capacitors work fine? Also a 5-30pf ceramic capacitor 100V, will this work fine in this circuit?

  • @bradkirwan

Yes all the parts will work fine

  • @dazaro3

  • instead of using a printer and transfering. you can draw it with a sharpy if u have good art skills

  • I am trying to build wireless headphones for my xbox. Can I put a heaphone jack in place of the mic and put a radio tuner in the headset? Or if any one has a better idea please let me know.

  • so basically you would plant this device, say, in a room to listen in on a conversation and then tune your radio to correct frequency to listen in?

  • Im a little lost... whats 90p? :S sorry still learning lol
