The only implication of marijuana, is from your brain-dead commentary. That being said, it is far more likely that this is a song about a lost love.
P.S. If you want to be right, you could argue that the song is a metaphor for the singer's affection for drugs, (i.e. he is lost because he "did wrong" with the drugs..etc).
