Don't forget tho that you need to also think at how the system starts (let's say you don't want your Z to be running all the time, and i guess you also don't want to visit your trunk at least 2 times a day to switch the system on/off using the power switch behind the subwoofer).

To me , it's not worth it, but that's me.

How do you power the system? 12DC to 220/110AC ? Or you took the 12V directly from the battery to the subwoofer after the power supply ? And don't you have noises and shit when the engine in on ?

And the last thing, how did you connect your radio to the pod? It has an RCA output preamplified ? I was sure all those radios output only the amplified signals.

Please answer this because I'm thinking about doing this too, I already have Z5500 which isn't used and my car speaker's are super crappy.

I don't know WTF is people's problem with the Z5500 in a car, for their price they are a million times better than proper amplifiers+car CD/DVD/DOK reader+2 rear component speakers+2 front speakers+subwoofer+professiona­l install for the sub and the doors speakers without breaking the doors in 300$.

@shlomiya First of all , it wasn't meant to be used in a car , it's a home theatre system.

Secondly , you have to make an investiment into a powerful , stable 12-230 V converter (they are quite expensive you know).

Thirdly , you need to hide the console somewhere to make it slightly integrate with the rest of the car (which in my opinion will never do,but it's up to you).

Forthly,You have to pass the wires and install the speakers throughout the car, and not do what this dude did.

j'ai utilisé un convertisseur 12V/220V que j'ai placé dans le coffre a droite

celà marchait très bien je pouvais écouter a pleine puissance pendant plus de 1h30 :) moteur coupé sans que cela ne bouffe trop la batterie
