  • This is the only time where I liked the sequel more than the original

  • @RollOnToVictory Yeah...actually all the lame and pointless sequels that were direct to video were ones created by DisneyToon studios...but yeah there should be a law saying that only Walt Disney Animation Studios should do their own sequels and only if the found it necessary...or an amendment either way. 8)

  • Why did the eagle tickle the kid? its like so random but the scene was really really cute! :D

  • I used to think eagles were really that huge

  • I watched this when I was so young , I loved it , I laghed , I got scared , I felt weird, I felt sad, awessooome epicness :=),

  • kinda hard to see but i think i saw a wee tear there at 0:22 (keep watching till you see tear or play over)

  • @WorgenWOWlife Well, if I was close to death, I would tear up also. Plus, he is falling really far and fast.

  • @WorgenWOWlife Its natural for your eyes to tear up at insane wind speeds like that. Which is why Skydivers generally wear eye protection. The more you know. Also an example of the move makers to have shown their work.

  • I really thought it was cute when the bird tickled the kid.

  • I wish someone on youtube. Could just up load this movie on here! Without any wonder pets in the middle of the movie.... -.-

  • that. is a big. ass. bird. XD

  • The Rescuers Toy Toon Short (1937)

  • I hadn't seen this movie since I was a little girl! My grandmother recorded it on VHS for me and I watched it all the time! Until my brother decided to use it to record stuff. I went to FYE just last week and found the Gold Collection edition! Watching it brought back sooooo many fond memories <3 I still love Bianca so much!

  • Ah, a nice trip back in the days when animation soundtracks were intelligent and effective...

  • man i wanted a golden eagle sooo bad for a pet when i was younger

  • I remember I told my parents I wanted a Golden Eagle for a pet after I watched this movie when I was younger! lol! They said no.

  • Sorry but this film was stupid. Golden eagles do not exist in Australia, and they don't have a 30 foot wingspan. And it's funny how the kid had an American accent. Americans love to have everything from 'outside' all fantasized and packaged to them in a way that they can understand it better.

  • @drazen86 Yeah because Australia has such a rich history of making animated films. Until then I hope a dingo doesn't eat your baby. (It's all in good fun)

  • @drazen86 and you are going to let some inaccuracies and FANTASY ruin solid animation?

  • This movie has a lot of nostalgic value for me, but it's also the reason I was sorely disappointed when I saw my first real eagle in a zoo. I was expecting it to be that huge xD

  • While its sad that movies like Great Mouse Detective and Rescuer's Down Under are relatively obscure compared to the other Disney films, at least obscurity prevented the creation of crappy sequels based off these classics.

  • The flying seans are the beast seans ever!!!!!!!!!!!!

  • @TheMormonSorceress like i said Glen is a god

  • That kid has balls of steal.

  • Then it takes him to nest and eats him.

  • If there's anybody who doesn't have the guts to go back and watch their childhood movies, what guts do they have?

  • I always like it when Cody shouts HIGHER!!!!!!

  • That would be so friggin terrifying. You know those talons would shred you up.

  • I doubt tickling with a talon... actually... tickles...

  • even after 20 years this scene still gives me goosebumps!

  • So apparently Disney used to put this thing called.... "effort" into their animated sequels

  • is it me or could i see a bit of "young Tarzan" in the blonde boys face expressions?

  • Steve Irwin- the younger years

  • @PaleWolf007 Hahah That shit is sooo funnny

  • You can feel the wind , that's grandiose! One of the best animated sequences from Disney movies, powered by Glen Keane :)

  • mY favorite part is when the boy gets tickle tortured, although it was brief. ^^

  • when i was a kid i was so jealous, i wanted to ride a bird too. :[

  • Beyond epic.

  • 0:38 That kangaroo was all "What the fuck am I looking at right now"

  • I think many people overlook this Disney movie. It's definitely a classic!

  • 2:48 that's what she said.

  • @karatefoo lol

  • Familyguyfangirl I SO AGREE WITH YOU 100%!!!

  • they dont make awesome movies like this anymore. :(

  • This is one of the all-time great movie scenes. A majestic and breathtaking opening to a great adventure. When I saw this on the big screen as a six year old I had goosepimples from head to toe. The sight of that giant eagle and that boy astride her flying over these vistas and through wisping clouds and then that steep waterfall... oh just amazing.

  • Nostalgia Critic wasn't kiddin' when he said this movie was WAAAAY, WAY, WAY (not enough "ways" memorized") UNDER RATED. I mean, this scene is just killer! So epic and awesome!

  • @TheNobodyofaSOLDIER I think both Rescuers movies are under rated.

  • This is the scene I like to show to anime fanboys who complain about lack luster american animation. The truth is, there is more magic and better animation in this one scene than in any single Hayao Miyazaki film ever made. That's a fact.

  • @laserwolf65 As much as I can appreciate your admiration for this wonderful scene I have to disagree. Castle in the Sky, My Neighbor Totoro, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind, and Kiki's Delivery Service are all magical experiences and contain loads of cinema dazzle in every frame. You're doing a disservice to a master filmmaker.

  • @RedBandMagic02 nah this is animation at it's best anime is not animated as well as disney

  • @cartoonkingforeever Oh, I wasn't talking about animation quality. I was talking about basic storytelling and character development. Miyazaki is a master when it comes to crafting beautiful stories. As much as I love the animation style in The Rescuers Down Under, the story is very routine.

  • @RedBandMagic02 i think the storyline was very well developed and the characters too ,Miyazaki is a great storyteller but there's something about disney classic animation that makes me love it more than Miyazaki movies

  • @cartoonkingforeever Fair enough.

  • @cartoonkingforeever Miyazaki was, in fact, the main influence behind this scene.

  • @CeruleanFilms what are you talking about?

  • @CeruleanFilms The animation team talked in interviews about Miyazaki's work being a major inspiration behind the film, and in particular, this scene.

  • Faultless and sublime. When the boy leaps off the cliff, he is a human being experiencing flight.

  • Sadly, this film is not even considered to be in the Disney Renaissance...

    So underrated...

  • Cody reminds me a lot of the young Tarzan! =D

He loves animals too and makes the same expressions xD

  • Sziasztok Valakinek nincs meg magyarul ez a rajzfilm?

  • good times

  • That was an awesome scene from an amazing movie!

  • ever since i was little i always loved this scene. the music is just amazing and i always wanted to fly because of it lol.

  • This is one of the best action scenes in the whole Disney history, and one of my favourites.

  • I always loved the part When he cut the eagle free for some reason that part fascinated me

  • this movie is the best. this scene specifically always filled me with awe when i was a kid. i thought forever that golden eagles were giant like that haha. but anyways, great movie, great scene, awesome music.

  • He must've been pretty light weight! Birds can only lift half their body weight!

  • Comment removed

  • who needs a dog when you have a giant eagle!

  • all the other Disney movies like The Lion King are said to be the best Disney movies, but for me this one is the #1

seeing this part alone as a kid was just mesmerizing, to this day it still sends chills down my spine its so amazing

  • This scene manages to be both epic and beautiful. It truly captures the simulation of flight and the music is just amazing!!!! Thank you very much for posting this!!! This is definitely my favorite scene from the movie.

  • When I was little I'd watch "The Aristocats" and "The Rescuers" almost everyday. They were my first Disney movies :D

  • Too bad the first movie's animators were perverts and snuck in an image of a naked woman as a subliminal message :/

  • @LastEarthBender it wasn't a subliminal message, just a part in the background. they didn't realize the impact video was going to have causing people to re watch over and over until they caught it. and Nudity is not perverted.

  • music is the best part. whoever composed this was a genius

  • @vielsu best part? I would tend to argue all things work together for good on this one

  • this is the only disney sequel that actually surpasses the original, the original movie was good but a little bit boring

  • That's because THIS one came out during the Disney Renaissance. *nodnodnod*

So epic, so epic. *wanders off to watch more*

  • When I was little and to this day this part is my favorite! I wanted a bird like that to ride. I especially love the shot with it flying with all the smaller birds. <3

  • this is what its all about... right here, quality, just pure genius, well done disney, five stars :)

  • I'm sooo jealous! I want to fly on a golden eagle!

  • the scene at 0:20 to 0:23

and the sound at 2:39 to 2:40

    i don't have that version

  • is 1:16 from hercules?! It looks alllooooot like it.

  • No. Hercules was made after this movie.

  • this movie rocks

  • fuck hard ass,, this is the favorite movie in my childhood....................... oh my god brings so much memories....sweet.

  • Very beautiful scene.

Don't kill me for saying this, but these animated Disney films totally beat stuff like High School Musical and Hannah Montana to a pulp.

  • man your sooo right :D

  • i agree...and sadly kids these days don't know what they missed :/

  • @familyguyfangirl 100,000 times agreed

  • @familyguyfangirl

DUUUUH... High School Musical and Hannah Montana are the reason Disney is slowly moving towards it's downfall

  • @familyguyfangirl And screw Jonas Bros. and Wizard of Waverly Place too!!!

  • @familyguyfangirl

    I totally agree lol

  • @familyguyfangirl

    What about Pixar?

  • @Guyverman01 What about Pixar? They are Awesome! But they didn't become well known until 5 years later , Toy Story. They had been around since 1986 , but only with shorts like ``Tin Toy'' , & ``The Adventures of Wally B.'' and little moments in ``Oliver and Company'' e.g. the Syke's car , and ``The Little Mermaid'' Ariel running down the staircase. This film has great memories , i remember being 3 years old on our black leather sofa at our apartment watching this film in my pajamas.

  • @Retrofanatic10 I HAD a black leather sofa tooo ! ! ! ! ! And I was watching Lion King, Toy Story and The Rescuers on it when I was like 8, in the room where we had also piano and the first PC. Today I'm in collage in a different city, and this room is out of use. Mom puts there various stuff that she doesn't need anymore, and the room stays dark and forgotten.... And I went through so many adventures of Disney's films in this room when I was a child... I miss my childhood badly...

  • @familyguyfangirl i totally agree with you ( i dont even like hannah montana or high school musical

  • @familyguyfangirl I KNOW!

  • @familyguyfangirl Kill you? I could KISS you for saying that! Figuratively of course. Note that this, a sequel, is INFINITELY better than most of the stuff Disney keeps giving us these days. :/ Of course, this was one of those rare sequels that nearly equaled its original. <3 Brilliant film, still an inspiration in my life.

  • lol when i was little this movie made me cry. definately back in disney's renaissance days. ;p

  • Ah, Glen Keane... I can always tell he's animating, just buy the eyes....

  • @HavenDweller how so? I mean i know it is glen but what does he do with the eyes that stands out? I am trying to learn more about him

  • IMO, the best scene in the entire movie. TY so much. =D

  • i just got goose bumps. ahh, the refreshing animation of dsney...

  • why does Cody remind me of an early Steve Irwin

  • OMG YOUR SO RIGHT!

  • I love this film

  • with imageryand artistic skill like that who needs CGI

    I loe this film

  • I loved this movie to death as a child, but I remember how weird it was that you don't even see the rescuers until about half an hour into the movie, lol.

  • 2:24 is the most beautiful scene in all disney movies, period. Well, that and the Nala and Simba scene when 'Can you feel the love tonight?' is playing :D

  • i like how unrealistic this is. i enjoyed this movie as a kid but now that i see it all i think about is how that eagle would probably have just eaten the kid after he set him free.

  • @mrpickles478 I know, huh? Not only is there a giant golden eagle that would likely eat the kid, but also animals that talk and sometimes socially interact with humans! All this surrealism... what gives??

  • That had to be one of the most beautiful scenes ive ever seen in an animated film. This brings back so many memories.

  • The ONLY Disney sequel I like. (Besides Toy Story)

  • Cody's face at 0:19. Lol! Lol! LOL!

  • lmaooo so fucking funny

  • That eagle joins the ranks of "endangered species" in films; a very majestic one if I do say so myself. Lots of great shots that are very engaging so far. A very 4 star scene right here; a break from the plot but very entertaining & exciting.

  • omg i love that movie part! Please don't ever delete this one cus this all mytime fav movie is or you'll feel regret. That movie is means alots to me when i was 4 years old. Im glad that you post this :) thank u so much!

  • 1:32

I'm not even gonna say my famous catchphrase there because THAT just defies the laws of reality...

  • You know what? Screw it, I'm saying it anyways...

    Cody is TICKLISH?!

    OH THE INHUMANITY!!!

  • I love it!

  • THIS IS A CARTOON! Cartoon are allowed to defy the laws of time and space while still living in the real world. It's cartoon okay this is not a... freaken nature documentary.

  • Omfg I love this movie. How could I forget about it? 8D OMG. I have to watch it again. eep.

  • Where's Joanna?

"Oh, Joanna? Did you know, that there was a razer in the back of my truck? Did ya'? Did ya'?! THERE WAS A RAZER IN THE BACK OF MY TRUCK!!"

    >x-D

    Damn salamander is so funny.

  • Actually he says "razorback" as in a wild hog, but yeah, funny parts abound in this classic movie.

  • Oh. >x-P

"I'm gonna' kill her. I'm gonna' kill that stupid slimy SALAMADER!!"

    >x-D

  • hah, when they land i always thought the eagle was saying "these are my eggs"

  • <:-D

Sadly the Great Golden Eagles are now extinct.

    <:-(

  • what really?? i didn't think they were!

    when did that happen??

  • Honastly, I don't know exactly when but the Golden Eagles that were wite with the Golden wings (Great Golden Eagle) are gone. :(

  • He was "soarin'" over Australia ;)

  • This was always my favorite part of this movie. :]

  • Does anyone remember a song with the opening lyric, "I would fly on the back of an eagle on a warm and windy day"?? My brother and I sang it as kids in the early 90s; we thought it was from the soundtrack of this film but can't remember! Anyone else recall it?

  • OMG i haven't seen this in ages nice

  • OMG this scene is so awesome! I love this movie. I want to go to Australia right now.

  • same here.

  • Always loved this movie... my favorite part being the Sugar Glider flight, and the airport-like Albatross operations.

  • that look like fun.

  • that's one big bird :) this movie rocks.

  • I remember thinking that all eagles were that size. My mom says that when I was little, I used to ask why all the eagles we ever saw were baby eagles, because none of the eagles were that HUGE.

  • wonderful

  • I love Marahute's screech.

  • I'd be scared if I saw an eagle that big... Of course, if Marahute's on the scene, I wouldn't feel so bad... Where did they get her name from and what does it mean?

  • I might be an aboriginal word for eagle. I'm not sure about that.

  • Probably right, seeing as the movie takes place in Australia. I want to go there so bad.

  • me too!! omg i hope i have money enough for me to go Australia on this christmas! (i know Dec is still far away) XD

  • LOL! Someday soon for me I guess!

  • Gorgeous animation and an equally beautiful music score. Truly the pinnacle of Disney Animation.

  • I'd be scared shitless if that happened to me.

Still, this movie was, and still is today, the best sequel Disney ever made. <3 I always loved Joanna the creepy and demented lizard thingy McLeach had.

  • One of the most epic sequences ever. Every shot is simply amazing and you can just feel the weight in the animation. It's kind of breathtaking.

  • Marahute is a sweetie. I'm sorry.

  • poor eagle

  • One scene I'll never forget.

  • 2:15 is beautiful

  • One of my favourite...including the soundtrack...2D cartoon rules!

  • I still love this movie as it would be the first time! *_*~

    So wonderful music <3

  • Ooooh, I haven't seen this movie for so many years! I think it was one of my first Disney movies, haven't ever seen the first one either. The scene is beautiful; I always loved Marahute. Thanks for posting!

  • <333333 childhood favorite

  • i saw this so long ago but i still just love it!

  • I've always thought that's one freakishly gigantic eagle.

  • Brilliant! My fav part of the movie!

  • It's in mine already. Can't lose one of the best scenes of the film can we

  • What Happened!?

Did Palbucks get suspended or something and his videos remove because i can't find him or the "Scene From Rescuers Down Under". Thank god you've put this up on here. Nevertheless, i'm going to download it while i still can.

It'll also go in my favourites.
