The quality of some of the music started to go downhill by X3. Fortunatly there were several stand out tracks that will never be forgotten like this one!
Watch the Extra Credits episode on Video Game Music, they explain pretty well what makes these tunes so memorable, and why modern Video Game Music isn't as much so.
A couple of months ago, I went to go pick up my sister from the airport. The sun was setting, and I had this song blasting. Man, I got big time nostalgia at that moment. Try plane spotting with this song playing, it's frickin awesome.
I always though X looked him of funny on the box cover. I get how he's trying to look tough, but his waist looks a little feminine and his arm cannon looks like a dick.
The problem I have with the X series when it went to PS is that they decided the majority of tunes have a techno/electronic sound to them, over complicating and missing the point of what Rockman is.
@juan5557903 oh my god i so agree, i literally don't favor any track from that game, in any X game there's always at least one, but the arranged versions of the songs just seem so...un 8-bit just doesn't fit the mood, but this...is EPIC! snes forever!
I love this game and the music. But I never really found out what the armor shield is good for? You know when you get hit when you obtain the armor... then you are sorrounded by a blue shield. What is it good for anyway? I never figured that one out. :)
I think x1-x3 had an amazing soundtrack overall but i think your right that x3 has deeper songs, like there's something really sad about blizzard buffalo theme that i love.
lol his theme or him i just think everybody loves off storm eagles theme but alot of other ones are just as good in my opinion if your talking about him haha i think he deserves more credit poor guy doesn't stand a chance with shotgun ice not that i use it :O
I thank god for youtube and for all you people who appreciate these kind of things. god bless you. these are memories of my childhood that i cannot and will not ever forget. thank you.

i have them now on my pc and ill never delete them, theyre priceless souvenirs that i dont think any games nowadays could ever top in terms of story and music. :)
@woohookittys *shakes head in severe dissagreement* you're are one of those many people who always has to compare things from back then to now as if "back then" was like your god that you were breastfed off of and today is like living in the hell that is afganistan. you always complain about things today as if nothing good has happend in this society even though that's not true at all. listen to the music in half-life and then try to repeat that phrase.
@mindmonkey00 I agree with you, but half life is a bad example, seeing as how it's 12 years old, and if you mean half life 2, that's still 6 years old.
@Movieviewer2 looking at the megaman x3 cover art is weird why choose toxic seahorse stage as the background maybe he liked that boss i think using the intro utopian city or gravity beetle stage as the background would have looked cooler :)
I was on a plane to Orlando a few weeks ago. I had a window seat, and we were cruising just barely above the cumulus clouds during an awesome sunset. I had this song playing on my iPod, and man, those precious moments above the clouds at sunset were amazing.
True, but basically what I mean is that Gravity Beetle's song is more of a triumphant heroic theme, while Sigma stage 1 is more of what you said, more tragic.
wasn't this song remixed in megaman x4? the final sigma stage where you get to battle all the bosses....the song in the background isn't a remixed version of Gravity Beetles's theme?
Cool song. The beginning reminds me of the 2nd part from the Megaman 4 intro when Megaman is standing on a train. The first few seconds have the same melody.
then you haven't heard the arrange version of these levels.
These are the original SNES version, the arrange songs are remixed, and on my opinion, sound quite better. (No offense to anybody who likes the SNES version)
The weird thing is that, according to the MM canon, Boomer Kuwanger from X1 and Gravity Beetle are 'brother' reploids; and you can hear common themes in their stage music.
This song always reminds me of sunsets because of the level's background =) I remember I would always come home from school on fridays and listen to this song.

i noticed something.
if u want to make heroic sounding songs, u make use of off scale notes.
off scale notes make everything sound more epic, like "oo say can you see?" analyze that song, and theres tons of off scsale notes.

Awesome. ^_^

nah man the most heroic is sigma stage 1 from X1

Sigma stage 1? Heroic...?
Mannnnnn........
That song is just depressing. Hahaha. Especially knowing that Zero dies in that stage, I'd say it rather fits the downfall of a hero.
MiDSinister 2 years ago
mannnn ur high. lol. sigma stage 1 has like the perfect balance of epic heroism, tragic downfall, and "im gonna fux u up"ness

to me, having a tragic theme goes hand in hand with heroism, so sigma stage 1 gets my vote
