I saw and heard him for the first time on Idol finale night here in Oz and I was simply gobsmacked. This guy has the most gorgeous voice ......think dark chocolate on a winters night. Such a nice young chap with a loving supportive family. This guy is going to go far. I'll buy his records when they become available.

My Sister & I were just saying the other day that It's amazing how many Christians there were on the show that we didn't know were Christians until they were off the show recording their albums. I don't watch American Idol, I listen and judge each contestant. Scotty is usually the only one that caught my attention at being good enough to want to vote for and see win. Plus the only one in this years competition that I would [pay] to buy record albums of. Wow, at 17 he's just begun and already a great performer. And thank goodness he's had the sense and respect for his body to not mark it up [permanently] with tattoos.

I was always taught "Judge and thou shall be judged" and i have had many people in my life i idolized, [ in a manner of speaking] from my parents, grandparents, and to my Lord and savior. As far as Scotty, here is a young man only 17 who not only wasn't afraid to show the world his emotions and tears at his homecoming but also in his 911 song where he teared up and almost lost it while singing this song. Many times you have heard Scotty quote Bible scriptures.

@bmxshowtime Oh, Of course. I wasnt saying I dont love Scotty. I do, he is so talented and I have noticed he talks about God. I admire that about him as well. I was more so saying my comment as in general.. I am turned off at calling them idols and its playing with fire to be a christian and to do so as well. The bible clearly states having idols are a sin, And praising or honoring God is not making him an idol btw. God is God. Scotty is a great boy, But I wouldnt "worship" anyone as my "idol"

@kimolainen Did you forget country Super Star, Carrie Underwood? I truly believe that Scotty will surpass what Carrie has done based on his popularity from even other countries. He even has the # 1 Download from i-tunes already on his new song. But you never know as sucess is promised to no one but from what i have seen from Scotty so far and his ability to re-sing songs better than the originals such as "AMAZED" and what a performance with Tim Mcgraw. A lot of people feel he outsang Tim Mcgraw.

@bmxshowtime Absolutely. It is his values that got him so far. There were so many good talented singers, but he & lauren both had certain values that people saw & really loved. My Sister & I were just saying the other day that It's amazing how many Christians there were on the show that we didn't know were Christians until they were off the show recording their albums. Take Carrie Underwood didn't know she was a Christian until she recorded "Jesus take the wheel"

He has nothing original to offer the country genre. His whacked out Alfred Neauman faces, and his peculiar stage presence is nothing above what you can find in karaoke bars in every town across the nation. This is a singing competition, but the tweens and cougars will vote for this clown because Haley is sexier and prettier than them, or their mothers.

I don't watch American Idol, I listen and judge each contestant. Scotty is usually the only one that caught my attention at being good enough to want to vote for and see win. Plus the only one in this years competition that I would [pay] to buy record albums of. Wow, at 17 he's just begun and already a great performer. And thank goodness he's had the sense and respect for his body to not mark it up [permanently] with tattoos.

Go Scotty! To me, Scotty is the the perfect 'American Idol'. He has a great voice, beautiful personality, right attitudes and knows exactly what he wants, also amazingly humble. I wouldnt choose an idol who just have a good voice but not good attitudes or personality. I am proud of my idol, 'Scotty McCreery' and I am proud to say that. Go Scotty !

I think Scotty has the best voice in the competition. The people who find him boring are those that dont appreciate country music... just as people who dont appreciate bluesy jazzy music will find Haley boring. thoseOr who dont appreciate heavy rock or metal will find James boring. People says he's a one trick pony and expects him to sing rock and jazz. Well, Haley sings bluezy and jazz all the time as well, James sings mostly heavy rock and metal.....'one trick pony?'

SCOTTY FANS........I've been reading ALOT of Scotty's comments and I have come across several of (what I would call) 'anti Scotty' commentators--not really haters but always saying negative things. I believe they are trying to get through the weakness of some, I don't believe Scotty has any weak fans, and steer votes away from Scotty. C'mon, Haley is a spinto-soprano, Scotty is a contra-bass. They're both good, it's just that, Haley is more talented... Scotty is talented but he's not a "CHAMPION-MATERIAL", IMHO :)
