  • "Never settle for nothing less".... Passion is beautiful!

  • I love this song and the lyrics. I can relate.... and find it humorous someone is giving a "literal" translation to the sing. It's poetry.... it's metaphorical and it is about a man she loves and the passion she feels for him. I am happy to have found my "misguided angel"... having waited for him to become more "guided" and learning more about myself and my own reactions.... I have found the one who I am truly passionate with. Our souls meet & bliss ensues.

  • good melody bad lyrics

    Truth set you free

  • I think it means the guy has a heart of gold but a troubled soul. The girl is intrigued by his unruly spirit and is willing to sacrifice comfort and/or approval from her peers and family for something deeper and passionate.

  • You people just don't get this song and probably never will. The song is symbolic. It's about a woman who meets and stays with a man that she knows is not good for her. Nobody she knows, including her family, does not approver. This is all she has. The feeling of being in love, only she really isn't.

  • You people just don't get this song and probably will never.

  • is this song satanic ?

  • Morningstar

  • lyrics:

    Misguided angel hangin' over me

Heart like a Gabriel, pure and white as ivory

    Soul like a Lucifer

Black and cold like a piece of lead

Misguided angel, love you 'til I'm dead

  • What the hell? The band Cowboy junkies is singing in reverence to Satan. Read the beginning lyrics below. The "misguided angel is Satan." Make the link people. Lyrics: I said "Mama, he's crazy and he scares me But I want him by my side though he's wild and he's bad and sometimes just plain mad I need him to keep me satisfied" I said "Papa, don't cry cause it's alright And I see you in some of his ways Though he might not give me the life that you wanted I'll love him the rest of my days"
  • just remembered this band amongst my diet of soul, jazz hip hop etc, lovely album that were :)

  • @graybeard1952 - yeah thank u 4 d post. this is my fav out of the trinity...

  • Extraordinary talent!

    Thank you.

  • Margo, you are my beautiful ange. I love you.

  • Definitely one of the top ten of all time songs. I'm so happy they didn't force youtube to remove it. Thank you for not being copyright jerks! People are more likely to buy a CD if they hear an awesome song. I own this CD, but, I have since stopped buying CDs because I hate the RIAA so much.

  • I think she means, being a young girl and all, It's not abusive. Like i previously stated my boyfriend isn't perfect but he is for me. Families often think we should go marrying some super amazing doctor type you know? Cause apparently that is ideal...but really a man with imperfections and slightly crazy can be even better than material, emotional need :) Maybe he's not "mr. perfect" but he truly does love her and needs her. Despite what family may think.

  • why is there not a the other way around..what bout the wife busing the husband..,.?

  • i'm sorry but i really don't think this is the case. It reminds me of my boyfriend, he's not perfect and sometimes my parents think he's meh. But i love him so much and he's perfect in my eyes, even with his faults. Not abuse at all. Just tormented maybe by past events as she said, misguided angel.

  • What the fuck man, Sorry that is not me that was my mom. I don't have bad grammer or I don't put '...' when I talk.

So you can delete that comment.

  • heh...just like my baby. <3.

  • What I like about CJ is that after many years of not listening to them, I've discovered a new meaning in some of their music. I have even heard a "piped" version of one of their songs at the airport where I work...and was SHOCKED to have heard it..but LOVED it when I did...CJ touches my heart in a very special way.

  • I love that song. Check out OIL SPILL ELIMINATOR on You Tube

  • I think this is about a sheltered woman who has finally met her one true love who is beautiful despite his imperfections and he is worldly which frightens her, but her love for him conquers all her fears of the outside world and leaving her family to lead her own life with him by her side....just my personal thoughts

  • I doubt it is an abusive relationship, she is scared about how she feels about him. She sees her papa in him, and her brother, tells her to settle for nothing left than passion. I think she is struggling with his dark side and good side. Which we all have.

  • Fabulous. thank you.

  • The only song I have heard that makes me misty-eyed.

  • I play with the Accordian guy - Jaroslaw Chervinec - also with Wiz Bryant...:)

  • love this song so much, takes me back a few years. i know i had the trinity sessions but i cant find it anywhere.....arrgggghhhh!!! love it even though its so sad i could cry, thanks for posting it

  • Still an inspiring song from an awesome band. I never tire of this song or Margo's voice.

  • Come on y'll, Natalie Merchant was around during the sessions and she scares demons away. I love her.

  • i agree with odacir. do not play this song in church.lucifer is lucifer a demon

  • you believe there's fairies at the end of your garden as well, don't you? *rolls eyes*

  • Religion is for the weak minded and faith is a mental illness. Wake up. Believe in yourself.

Priests talk about Lucifer and so does the bible - she's not talking about Devil worship. Did you even understand her lyrics?

  • I have always been more a rocker but the first time I heard The Trinity Sessions, I knew it was a timeless piece of work. Always worth playing on occasion and one to share. Still gives me cold chills. This album was my "calm down" music in Iraq.

  • Lucifer? are they even listening to the song? Listen please, she is singing aboput her man, he is not perfect but he makes her, her! Its a song to hear, it speaks to me of everyone, the good and bad, but the real person still there... thank you for posting this song. Cheers!

  • I just heard Margo again. It is the same after 15 years. Sleeping in the Glades or Cypress, with one Gator around me and those boars running and snorting in the woods. A billion stars overhead and a big ass reptile near me. A Million years of evolution and we could touch each other. We heard Margo.

  • One of the few songs ever performed that could bring tears to my eyes.

  • Try camping in the Everglades and listening to Margo at night. Tears?? Yup.

  • I think I hear a cult calling someone... one of those backwoods snake handling ones...

  • thanks "M" for sharing this, truly beautiful.

  • I don't understand what you are talking about. This song was recorded in a church. It's simply a beautiful song that reaches people. You don't have to be strange to love this song.

Christian and Muslim (and many others, those are just the two main ones) religions are GIANT cults full of people with a mental illness called "faith". What could be more backwards and stupid than killing in the name of God?

  • OMG - Lucifer....I can't even comprehend the ignorance here, I AM truly on the floor laughing...

  • Almost forgot. odacir64; this is NOT a song in praise of Lucifer. It's a song about a woman who loves a man who might be good or bad for her. She just has so much to give him she's willing to take a chance on him.

Besides son, she also compares him to Gabriel, so which one is he?

  • In a time when we have such "music" stars as Britny Spears, or Emenem it's revealing how much power there can be in a simple song with bare bones presentation. This recording was made in a Church using nothing but one ambisonic microphone. And just listen to how gorgeous it is. And this song will last longer than anything being put out today.

  • @SkivMarine very good comment that you posted....and I agreed with you totally.

  • @SkivMarine and eminem created his music with just a pen, notebook, and a story to tell.

  • @zcanooodles I agree with both of you s'all true. s'all good

  • awesome!!!

  • this song takes me back when my ma and pa did not let me date the angel in my eyes

  • thanks for reminding me how much i love this song... i had forgotten.

  • My ex from Mississippi taught me to LOVE this band. That was a long time ago and I still listen to them!

  • Song reminds me of camping

  • I love this song...

  • when u love some one . they make you do things . like lucifer makes plp do things to . thats when you love that person so much . i guess you do not know what love is

  • omg..she is not praising Lucifer..listen to the words..she is so in love with a man that she is very willing to take a chance on him and doesn't care what her family says about him..as for church...well, the church has done some vry nasty things to people too...think about it..

  • odacir64... they are not praising anything; they are using similes to create an image of the man she loves. He has a heart like a Gabriel, but a soul like a lucifer. It's a dichotomy she cannot understand, but she loves this person anyway. How you get from there to Satan worship is beyond me

  • >_> wow. this isn't about lucifer at all, it's just a metaphor to show the opposing things in him, listen to also "pure and white like ivory, black and cold like a piece of lead" we all have that balance in us, what better statement to use than lucifer and gabriel? writing.

  • Trinity Sessions = lightning in a bottle.

Not that the Cowboy Junkies suck or anything, but they never came close to equaling the out and out mastery of this record. One of the best ever.

  • The trinnity sessions in my opinion is one of the best albums put out in a long time. Definitely im my top one hundred

  • erfica...maybe she married a Canadian lawyer because she's Canadian, too? Long live Margo and the Junkies..Neil, Joni and Colin..

  • I love them. When do they deliever a new record???? I'm waiting for that there's a long long time...

  • My Fav Too

  • thank you for the great video. One of my fav songs of theirs

  • My all time favorite song

  • wish someone would post "cheap is how i feel" video.

  • The 80's. The 90's? I used to camp,,,there was nothing better at the end of day than Margo. She just went off and married this Canadian lawyer. I was crushed.

  • Yuck! A lawyer!!! Why didn't someone try to stop her??!!??

  • great song, another exception from the eighties

  • Antidote to rap.

  • indeed!!

  • Thank you so much for uploading this, it is my all time favourite song, never fails to move me.

  • Downtown Toronto. Right behind the Eaton Centre. One of the greatest Canadian albums, ever!

  • recorded in an old church with only one mic and they still sound this great? Just a testament to how good they really really are. Let's the the bands of today try this with out their pitch correctors, etc......

  • Thanx-Did'nt know that-no Surprise-They Could play in a forest, and Take ya There!!!!!!

    Apache -_-Sky
