  • I actually learned this grammar in Japanese intermediate 1. ^-^

  • Hot chick who's into grammar - how awesome is that!

  • Good intermediate lesson but simply it's the same pattern as:

koto ga dekiru-can do, changed to:

    koto ga suki-like to do.

Oyogu koto ga dekinai-I can't swim.

Oyogu koto ga suki ja nai-I don't like swimming.

Oyogu being an intransitive verb, but with transitive verbs it's better to go with potential forms rather than use koto ga dekiru.

Nihongo ga hanaseru-sounds better than nihongo o hanasu koto ga dekiru.

  • what was the verb they used for "Read"? i only know about 読む

  • @GenerationDarkness Dokusho.

  • I like to have some freedom.

  • "Super awesome high-level"? I don't know about that. This is actually rather basic grammar. :P Still very interesting lesson though. Thanks for posting it here on YT.

  • We loved this at the beginning of semester 2 at my college. : )

  • I get a sense from this video that not only are we learning a few tips on the Japanese language, but that George is teaching the two girls some English lol! ^_^

  • For those studying or taking a course using the genki textbooks, this is covered in lesson 8 of the first book.

  • (週末に)何をするのが好きですか。

It is one of the most important sentences we have to learn at 1st year college (Naples, Italy) :-)

Now it's 4th year already! *sweet memories*

  • lol this is very useful.. like very very

  • lol ok?

  • i love it! suki no koto? haha

    great vid :D

  • @MoonliteMemory well rather suki na koto ...from purely gramatical point of view...

  • Well shit! These girls are having trouble, how am I supposed to understand?! :(

    Interesting, nonetheless.

  • @AbePwns Sometimes its hard to think about the way you speak and the structure of your own sentences. Its like taking a grammar class where you'll be listening to the sentence structures but you'll be thinking .."but.. I already know that". Its just hard to actually put it into words when you're used to just speak without putting effort into forming sentences.

  • ty for upload!xD

  • awesome!

  • Yeeeah, too advanced. Haha, I dont want to sound like a gaijin but im sure ill allways will. And never sound as good as you George. T_T

  • I already knew how to say i like doing something Using "koto" i feel special now ^-^ But i didn`t know about "するのは" so i think ill use that from now on too. Thanks :D

  • Interesting. I have yet to come across any lesson on this >_< Very helpful!

  • 相変わらずあなた達面白いね!でもこのレッスンは別に長高いレベルじゃないと思うけど・・それよりあのシャツは!イッタイどこで買ったの? ^_^

  • Good stuff, love your show, keep up the good work

  • the girl on the right talking about reciting Buddhist scriptures?

before I read the subtitles I thought she was talking about singing alone... I'm kinda curious now, because it's unusual to find someone who spends their weekend that way.

  • was Natsuyo-san (that her name? the one on the right) talking about reciting Buddhist scriptures?

before I read the subtitles I thought she was talking about singing alone... I'm kinda curious now, because it's unusual to find someone who spends their weekend that way.

  • Thank you, that was very informative. I've always wondered how you would say that. =]
