  • nice but im just wondering, i thought king's don't bite when they are spawing?

  • Guys this is my FAVORITE KING VID ON THE WEB!!! The editing, and all the nonstop action shots and the bushwacking cuts make this video a good summary of true roadside fishing in Alaska. Keep it up!!! Im headed to the Anchor River to fly fish for Kings on Memorial Day. Watching this vid makes me want to be there right now, LOL!!!

  • Do you use anything for bear protection like a firearm or bear spray?

  • @dennisndodie

We do carry a magnum pistol - mostly to use to make noise should we ever run into an issue.

  • A lot of spawned out ones but a few nice chromers. Good job guys tight lines

  • is there a reason why you release all your fish parallel to the bank or even facing the shore?

  • Not a bright fish in the bunch! Here in Oregon we may not yell "fish on" as much as they do in Alaska, but when we do, you can bet it's a mint bright beauty. They might be fun to hook, but those scroats were well past their prime.

  • another question what kind of waders did you guys use im looking for a good pair of breathables and i wanna know what stands up to beating brush in alaska

  • @buzzbaseball11

We used: Cabela's Dry-Plus® G-II Bootfoot Chest Waders. They only cost $139.99, but held up very well for us.

  • Very nice. i will try and go to alaska next spring . i intend on taking a copy of your book and dvd with me. Good job.

  • nice fishing im from wa and i go to columbia and catch some kings about 65 lbs. if you want to know the best bait for kings in columbia river its probly brads superbait

  • Nice job flossing all of those kings in knee deep creeks

    you guys are jokes

  • Im definitely checking out this dvd once I get my next paycheck!!! Do you think a berkley IM7 Medium heavy paired with a shimano corvalus 401 or abu 5501-6501 with 25lb big game would be good for fishing up there?

  • nice fish? come on now, those suckers are way past their prime as far as table fare goes. as far as putting up a fight yeah they fought all right, tight lines.

  • how many fish did you guys catch that day?

  • what kind of rods and reels are you guys using

  • We use g loomis casting rods - primarily the 8-17 lb 1025c IMX and shimano calcutta reels.

  • awwsome vid man!!! gonna have to come back next year... for I think a third time, but then 2nd time for fishin... now I learned by biology that the color red makes animals in maiting time verry agressive and they attack red& purple alot, and understand why u use those color lures... ,last time had a cupple of 200 fish-onns...but only got 3 in, all of them snaged. I'm gonna catch real fish next time...using everything I've learned.

  • A few nice Rainbow Trout too. You guys did alright. To bad I live in Australia, I so want to catch a king salmon. Oh well. Can you get them in Canada? I think atlantic salmon live in Canada but I'm not sure about king. I might be going there for a holiday so I thought I might as well check it out. If you know, do atlantic salmon grow as big as kings?

  • "small" kings in the great lakes. The current record king is from British columbia, that's west coast canada.

  • wow dude u are wrong the worlds biggest king salmon was caught on the kenai river in alaska and it weighed 97.5 pounds!

  • No, you are wrong. A woman caught one out of skeena river in BC that was bigger. It was still under 100 pounds but bigger than the alaska fish. I think it was 99 or 98 pounds.

  • I found a clip about it. search the name yourself and you'll see other stories about the record fish from BC canada.

    the clip....

The current sport caught World Record is over 99 lbs 6 oz. and was caught by Mrs Ingrid Oeder from Germany, guest at the Kermode Bear Fishing Lodge, in the Skeena River(Terrace)

  • give me the url to the video, pls thanx

  • did i see Tim Berg in there? I am going fishing in seward in July. Is there any place close to Anchorage to go where i can catch some salmon for the freezer? And, if so, what do i use?

  • I have a couple of question about fishing the streams in Anchorage, particulary, Ship and Bird Creeks. When fishing ship creek at low tide, can you see the schools of salmon holding in the shallow water, or is it too murky. As for Bird creek, apart from lining, what other methods work well, and during low tide, can you sight fish for the salmon? Thanks.

    Cory

  • Cory-

Ship Creek: Water is very murky making it difficult to see fish holding. You will see fish moving or fining near the surface. My best luck has been using a 4-inch blue and black crocodile lure with 6-O treble hook.

Bird Creek: Same comment, but I have had best luck with a catfish rig and single 5-O to 7-O hook with orange fake egg cluster at the hook eye.

Catfish rig: Let me know if you need details on this type of rigging. Killer for trout & river salmon.

  • ok for one fis seward there reds and kings from the beaches use 5/0 trebble snaging hooks go 2 naqsh road or the culverts for reds/kings if you want 2 go 2 anchorage for ship creek cause birds not open for {low} tide use 5/0../6/0 hooks i prefer singles and use yarn/beads with a 6ft/9ft leader and 2 size 2 split shit weights for high tide run eggs this year is very effective with a small chunk of herring either under a bobber or use a 4oz cannonball free slide sinker or bottem bait rig

  • NICE RELEASERS :D

I never was fishing for the pacific salmon.

I´m only fishing for the atlantic salmon in iceland.

Last year we caught a pacific salmon in a little river in iceland

The fish probably came the whole way from alaska to iceland and into our little mini river we were fishing in that moment :D

See you tight lines to you all
