  • @Trento1982 The mushroom is a fruit of the mycelia, so it's OK to take the whole thing, you aren't causing any unnecessary damage. One thing you can do is brush the spores out of the mushroom before bagging it but that could be difficult with boletes I suppose.

  • next time cut the mushroom away leaving the roots it may grow another

  • Yeah, you can eat them. This is the porcini mushroom quite expensive. You get them dried in supermarkets.

  • @KraZieKracker69 I don't how is it with boletes in USA. Here it is quite rare and expencive.. they sell them only dried In Czech Rep. So it is better for us to go hunt in forest. :)
