I loved SGU from the start. Every single episode. I am just happy in a small way they ended the last few episodes like they did. Because frankly them going out the way they did is ironic and Eli's face is telling of the ling wait he (and scifi in general) have before things transition to pay-per-view and netflix formats where scifi can be viable again long-term.

I guess im the only one who loved SGU from the beginning! Actuall I just liked it from the beginning until the DVD came out and I watched it all from the start. That's when I got the story all in one shot! Then there's the hardcore nature of the show and the stark dramatic elements that underlined SGU. After all - it's about the people. NOT about stuff blowing up. It would seem only some of us have managed to walk out of the caves...

I completely feel your pain. SyFy changed from "SciFi" because they couldn't make enough with advertisers on science fiction alone. They air wrestling because it gets viewers that give them 5x the ad money from other programming. Scifi series cost more than most standard tv shows (though they shouldn't now) so networks are scared to keep them going. Fewer tv shows make the big hit money now so the network solution is to cancel shows quickly if they aren't "huge"

Also Farscape was cancelled pretty suddenly, and then the miniseries that finished the story was NOT funded by the former hosting network.

@Arkatox I managed to never see Farscape and Firefly was only released as movie in Austria. I had no idea for a long time that there was actually a Series behind it.

@maximumrisk2004 My family is actually only getting into Farscape now, but I've heard so much about it beforehand.

As for Firefly, It was a series that lasted for 14 episodes (3 of which were never released until the DVD series release) before it was cancelled by Fox. But it did, however, get such a giant fan "cult" that they eventually they created the movie, Serenity, to conclude the story. The series is still getting media added to it, though not in the form of TV. Look it up on Wikiedpia.

@iampotts02 Well, it got a lot of People to start posting on Forums about it, so it has to have got something others dont see.Still, I am also into Supernatural, Fringe and the Big band Theory(that one is my Fave), but how many of those series do you expect to be on by 2012? Supernatural is probably not going to make it, Fringe may just make it and at least Big Bang Theory has Potential for 10 Seasons, so I am not worried about them. I am more worried about Sanctuary.

@iampotts02 It looks like with SGUs Cancellation, they will now try to start off a Direct-to-DVD franchise. In other words putting the long time planned SGA and SG1 movies out and if the sales go good, they might just continue the Story. One of the SGA Characters is also supposed to appear in one of the last SGU Episodes, so I cant wait for that one.

To be honest, I didnt like Sanctuary either, but the recent Season got me hooked. I just watched the first Ep out of Boredom, but it was Epic.

@iampotts02 As said, you should give the newest Sanctuary Season a Chance, I think it has gotten a lot better. Also, there is a post on which Character of SGA is Gay(since they always had one of the main characters set up, just never actually outet him/her). I am working on a vid now to make a Vote, which one People think it is. The General assumption so far is either Zelenka or Lorne. I would say Lorne. :D

Like i said i didnt watch the last season but i watched all the others and i really dont care for the characters that is why i didnt like the show as much as the others. I think the wraith in sga were the best bad guys ever and i loved the cast!

@iampotts02 I really undestand the creators for making SGU. They simply wanted to go a different route for once in the Franchise. SG1 and SGA where simply funny and SGU tried to be more serious with the "Lost in Space" Theme and I admire that. People got pissed because of the drastic change and the way Syfy handled the Series. It could have done better, thats all I am saying.

Yes alantis and sg1 were funny but they were serious when they need to be! Both shows had a great great cast and that makes a world of difference! everything that made sg1 and alantis great they took out of sgu and that was a big no no!!!!

@iampotts02 I still think that SGU was something special. I usually hate Dramas, but in the form of SGU it worked for me. I just hate that it took them 1 Season to actually get to a good pace. The first Season really was bad in terms of Story development. I just hope that they make the last Episodes good enough that a few more join the fight.

The remaining Eps where already filmed when the decision came, so I guess SGU is going to leave us with a big cliffhanger that might not get resolved. I swore I wouldnt let that happen again after Persons Unknown.

SCI-FI digged the grave for SGU, not SGU itself. The series was finnaly picking up pace in season 2. There where many series wich started to pick up after season 2. Babylon 5 for example. spawned 3 more seasons after that and like 10 movies.

@F4Wildcat I think it was an accomplishment of both parties that killed SGU. Syfy made a BIG mistake by killing SGA for SGU. SGU was good, but they should have ran it Simultaniously at least in order to let the Fans get used to it, just like they did with SG1.

SGU is just to different to fit in with the Mindless TV we get served with now. If People would have given it a fair chance and the writers would have speed up the Arc development more, it would have been Perfect.

@F4Wildcat Also, dont forgett, that this is the Death of ALL Stargate! MGM has the rights to Stargate. They are about broke at the moment and without the Income from Stargate they are done for. We can hope for a reboot in about 5 Years, but in the meantime TV is going to be dominated by Reality-TV. There are still some shows that challenge our Imagination and we need to keep them going. I am still going to try to make People listen, but there is only so much a single voice can do.
