I competed in an ODE in august, and while I was waiting for show jumping or something, you could here this girl screaming at her horse. I was using my voice alot, turns out I didnt have my horse loves xc. You gotta do the same thing, Im guessing your wayyy better now? he didnt buck by the way, just your normal cought off guard refusal (: Your a brilliant rider.

oh how annoying!! althogh the first few fences are always a bit smaller they are the ones that always catch riders out...i say always take it handy in the first few, even trot up to the first few until the horse gets into the swing of it and the bloods up....what a shame for your first trial....not to worry....you'll be grand next time!

your horse looks a lot like my 4 yr old irish sport horse lir.....ill prob have the exact same vid as you when i take him to his first hunter trial! lol

I know I do pre training (I am 12) and me and My horse Jojo were going along over all the bigger fences and then at this little tiny jump (just a log no ditch no flowers nothing) and she spooked and bolted away from it:P I am glad I didnt fsll off though cause she is 17.2 hh :P

Agreed he did not buck at all. He just pop'd his shoulder out. In the description you go on about how scary it was... why wern't you prepared for a refusal then? When you jump cross country especially.. you need to ride defensively. I can't be to hard on you I dont know if it was just an off day... but just try to ride more defensively and agressive when you do scary jumps.

1/2 the D's fell off on that first jump. The first jump is to be not scarry and going to the barn. this jump shouldn't have been the first one. Sarah, you were one of the many... good fall though!
