That changer working is just heavenly to watch. I have scoured the Internet, and eBay, etc, etc, for years now and still have yet to see one like we had when I was a kid. It was in our '58 RCA Victor console stereo - a Collaro with a Ronette turnover cartridge, the changer was all beige and brown and worked like a champ. It was badged exclusively for RCA.
I have the same record and it sounds great on your set. My Maggie Provincial has the same changer. Does your set still have the original cartridge? If so, is it the EV 26 flip over with individual stylus? I'm currently using an Astatic cartridge that they made to fit this changer, but I'm not happy with the sound. The rubber parts of my original EV 26 had hardened and the cartridges are hard to find and expensive when one is found. - Ray
@AstroSonic1967 HI Ray This did have the EV-26 cartrdige and I still have it, but I installed an Electro Voice 275, which is more compliant. You have good reason to not be happy with the Astatic sound. I have an exact Astatic EV-275 replacement, and when I installed it in this Imperial it diminished the sound quality, which might not be noticeable in smaller units, but really showed up in this one. E-V is more expensive but they make a difference in sound quality.
@maynardcat The EV 275 is the same cartridge I have in my '66 AstroSonic Provincial. It has a long tab attached to the cartridge with a single screw hole. How did you mount it on a bracket that fits the two hole tone arm used in your changer?
@AstroSonic1967 The EV- 275 fit in the front of the E-V 26 bracket ok, but I had to do some improvising for mounting the end of the cartridge, and I left the tab. I did this experimenting with an extra EV-26 bracket I had.

Sounds wonderful - it really does!
Just a thought - do you realize there's a whole generation of people here on YT who have never even *seen* a "record player"? :D
