  • INTI PIETRU, U FUQ DIN IL-BLATA SER NIBNI L-KNISJA TIEGHI U L-BIBIEN TAL-INFERN MA JGHELBUHIEX

  • We used to sing this song while I was in St. Theresa's Minor Seminary, Ibadan, Nigeria during our night prayers. Though in our school's version which is also wonderful. It is good to see this on this medium. May God's Name be blessed forever. Amen. Thanks for uploading this for our worship, Schmobot.

  • Credo in unam sanctam Catholicam Ecclesiam......Church of England get off of my cloud. You were only formed so that Henry VIII could commit adultery "legally". After 500 years you still don't get it!!!!!!!! You've got all the most beautiful old churches in my country - time you gave them back!!!!!

    An English Woman!

  • Et ego catholicus? Sic beautus esse decet homo?

  • what has it to do with this music?

  • Thank you for sharing this beautiful video

    God bless

  • na los tu es petrus

  • membris calo din glo xen forum con ur clorum congestum vellum tonus

  • ''Tu es Petrus, et super hanc petram aedificabo ecclesiam meam. Et portae inferi non praevalebunt ad versus eam: et tibi dabo claves regni caelorum.''

"Thou art Peter, and upon this rock I shall build my church. And the flames of hell shall not prevail against it: and I shall thee the keys to the kingdom of heaven."

    (Matthew 16:13 - 19)

  • *gates of hell.

    Portae means "gates" or "door"

  • yes.

  • Surely, you mean Matthew 16:18 - 19.

  • Matthew 16:18 - 19

  • @IXOYC3lhv matthew who ? do not trust a book written by an algerian man i mean the bible.

  • Who is the choir?

  • what type of music is this called?

  • Sacred polyphony. (16th century). Sorry about the minus point - I pressed the wrong tit!

  • The greatest.

  • Seriously, I recommend that you go to The Teaching Company website and order the DVD series, How to Listen to and Understand Great Music. He talks much of this music, along with much, much other music. The course is a tour de force.

  • This music is Sacred Renaissance Polyphony of the Italian School at its greatest!

    THANKS FOR SHARING!

  • Isn't this the anthem of Vatican City?

  • Yes it is!!! There is a youtube recording of it. Check it out. Different style but still good. Lots more vibrato though...I still believe in straight tone with little vibrato for warmth like this recording.

  • My choir is singing this in the Vatican in Rome for the High Mass in March :) Wonderful Piece, also Exaudi Domine by Palestrina is great as well

  • Which choir?

  • Wonderful! I think G. P. da Palestrina is a genius.

  • Please understand: Palestrina is one of the greatest geniuses in the history of music, and he would remain so whether I, you, or the rest of the world know it. I salute you for embracing him.

  • YOu're right man!!

  • i performed this in carnagy hall with rising starr ms and because of this song we have the best chorus in the country

  • Go smoke some more crack. It's not a song either, it's one of the most beautiful pieces of music of all time.

  • Very humbling! Thank you

  • Simply A kind of perfection!

  • I am an atheist and this composer always makes me feel respect and admiration for your religion.

  • I need the second part score... QUODCUMQUE LIGAVERIS. ¿Where can I get it? Thanks.

  • yeah... my chorus is singing this in Ireland this summer, but my score stops about half way through the song... CLAVES REGNI COELORUM, COELORUM

  • I performed this piece in HS

At Ankney HS Ankney Iowa In the mid 80's

  • We were going to do this piece in HS I think. We did Exultate Deo instead. I remember a few years before I was in HS my music teacher did this piece with her HS kids at the time and I was so inspired by it. One of the most beautiful piece's of music of all time. For real!

  • A Gorgeous piece of music

  • Beautiful! Who is singing?

  • The Westminster Abbey Choir directed by Simon Preston.

  • one of the pioneers of music, largely under-appreciated by the masses though. He deserves so much more recognition for his groundbreaking achievements in music.

  • very true! i think he's brilliant.

  • I pray that one day God calls me to compose something of such beauty and magnificence.

  • very good job.

    good voice , phrasing!

  • Unam Sanctam Catholicam...
