  • @darkmatrix203 I'm sorry! :(

  • i'm sorry but the trumpet soloist totally screwed up big time on the solo

  • it would be nice if the orchestra could play something other than loud. but not bad overall.

  • i'm a bass player and going this summer (yay!!) i hope to god i can get into this orchestra. then again even their lower orchestra is friggin amazing

  • Why play B. in the bowl and not Kresge?

  • It's the final concert - it's always played in the bowl and then WYSO, IP, WYWS, and ISB all come together to play Liszt's Les Preludes

  • great playing but that conductor is really wierd and crazy

  • You've obviously never played with him. In all honesty, he is the single best conductor I have ever known. EVER.

  • i suppose you may think he is amazing but i dont think i would be able to play with a conductor who makes motions like that.

  • Jung-Ho Pak is the greatest conductor alive. Literally no joke. Once you have played under him nothing else compares, nothing even comes close.

  • Oh yes you do EMOCLARINETIST. Search for a wind ensemble playing this...much much better

  • Ummm no EMOCLARINETIST, I don't believe so. I'm pretty sure that wind ensemble members tend to have more creativity than others

  • well you sure as hell don't get any more creative than this, LANGLEYWIL

  • CLASSIC!!!!!

  • Oh yeah...this is good. I'm a bandy and we usually don't look to fond on orchestra folk, but this was goooooood....great job

  • you also gotta remember, us band people are wanna-be's compared to orchestras.

  • Great to see the original orchestral version - with the full instrumentation - electric guitar, soprano sax, piano and the prerecorded speeches tape (unlike the band arr. which omits it). Brass solos were very good -- the good use of the growling (perhaps they studied Bernstein's own recording?) and not fracking every other note.

  • Oh my, the trombone feature could have been so much better than that, a bit upsetting almost. I always heard that WYSO was better than that. I am too young to go. I wish I coud though.

  • slava is like, the best song ever

were playing it in band now

    love it<3

  • I met Jung-Ho today, at my orchestra festival. :)

That guy is the most inspirational conductor I've ever worked with...

    his techniques are so helpful.

  • i was sitting in the audience for this.. yeah jung-ho!!!!!!!!!

  • This was great, I was glad i was a part of it

  • I was there too!

  • oh yea i was there!!!

  • Holy ass...this is amazing.

  • What happened to the Eb clarinet solo....that was my part when we played this in school

  • The band version is different than the orchestral version. In the orchestral version, the piano has the solo you're talking about.

  • Great job! This is the best recording of Slava that I have heard on youtube so far!

  • *sighs* I miss Interlochen SO much.

  • yay Interlochen Bowl! I love this piece. =)

  • Interlochen rocks :D

  • haha cool cool... go slide whistle! lol man i wish there were more videos of wyso. like west side story, and mahler. all we have is this video and the clip of the ending of mahler. lol o well :(

  • sick. you can actually hear my slide whistle!

  • work ben!

  • holy smokes. you've been savin this one eh? haha awesome summer, and what better way to end it.

  • I just figured out how to put these on youtube, that's why! lol.
