Hmmm nice monitor ,i have a panasonic 3D TV where you dont need the Tri Def 3D software as the panasonic has its own built in 2D to 3D conversion in the TV settings .Wish LG did the same idea !!
But im tempted to purchase the LG for my PC and see how it fairs up .
How much did argos sell it for ??
I have seen prices going for about £149 upwards for your model .
Sorry, I don't have an Xbox, but see "HDMI 1.4 stereo 3D arrives on Xbox 360" on eurogamer. It describes Batman: Arkham City at 720p per eye top and bottom.
170º/160º". So the horizontal viewing angle is quite wide, but it is only a 23 inch monitor, so the 4 people would have to sit close together to get a good view!
@SneekZuidRecordz It is OK for 2 or 3 people to sit up side by side and watch a 3D movie. The screen is not really big enough for any more than that. Your eyes need to at the same height as the monitor to get the 3D effect.
@FunnyUnleashed1 As I understand it, Tridef 3D is provided for PC games (google: TriDef 3D Ignition - Supported Games. Any other broadcast, game, and movie platforms are OK if they can output a HDMI 1.4a 3D format video signal frame packing 3D format at either 720p50 and 1080p24 or 720p60 and 1080p24, side-by-side horizontal at either 1080i50 or 1080i60, and top-and-bottom at either 720p50 and 1080p24 or 720p60 and 1080p24
@HoldMyPieRS Not unless your computer has a tv tuner (e.g. WinTV-HVR-4400) , you probably want the LG DM2350D 23 inch Widescreen LED 1080p 3D TV Monitor with TV Tuner
@Salee1204 I tried an old game with Tridef 3D and it worked OK for me. But I am not a gamer, I just wanted to watch 3D movies. Unfortunately I have not been able to persuade my wife to get a big screen 3D TV for lounge ;-)
@othmanalakeel Sorry don't know. You would probably need to get an HDMI audio and video output using a third-party Mini DisplayPort to HDMI Adapter, or Mini DisplayPort to DVI Adapter (optional) (my daughter hasn't got such an adapter for her mac book pro).
Most 3D settings are enabled only for HDMI VIDEO TIMING (so initially I got a DVI-HDMI cable, before getting a graphics card with HDMI output). 3D settings include:
SIDE BY SIDE Left and right pictures are arranged in Side by Side layout.
TOP & BOTTOM Left and right pictures are arranged in Top and Bottom layout.
LINE INTERLACED Left and right pictures are arranged in line by line.
@CrazyComputerGameR As I understand it the 9800 has DVI-I (dual link) output aimed at 120HZ active 3d monitors, you could use a DVi to HDMI cable to use it with the LG D2342P at 60 Hz
@FRANCISCOXBOX That's right,FRANCISCOXBOX, no speakers, just an earphone socket for sound coming in over the HDMI cable from the computer graphics card.
i have one of these and its not good. be aware before you buy - 2d has visible lines accross the screen due to the polarisation filter which also makes the image look faded. in 3d you have to be in exactly the correct position for it to work but its ok.
@ Ferret61 and adelwwe74 thnx guys i c difference now, good for me i have a MSI Nvidia GTS 450 Cyclone n it stands 3D graphics i think, not as good as the GTX series but something is something lol xD, also it has 2DVIs and 1 Mini HDMI output
Hi EV1LDRAG0N, cables are cheap. The main thing is it has the connections: VGA (for old computers) + DVI (for graphics cards) + HDMI (for 3D blu-ray player). Alternatively you can get a DVI to HDMI cable assuming your computer has digital DVI output.
wtf? no HDMI cable? xD think i gotta buy 1, but... DVI is the same as HDMI cable? just difference is that HDMI has sound interface and DVI no, right? or its about graphics too?
Sorry sodia1 , I don't know. I have an old nvidia GEForce 7300 LE, which is borderline OK for HD and Side-By-side 3D, but struggles with Blu-ray 3D. I did consider an upgrade to GeForce GT 210, but for recoding video I would be better off upgrading my dual CPU to a 4 or 8 way CPU instead.
@sodia1 Hi, sodia1, it works with the AMD Radeon HD 6450 (via HDMI 1.4a) that I have just got (1920x1080 60Hz Scaling Option Overscan 0%) My system still struggles with 3D bluray (probably due to Athlon 64 X2 3800+) but better than my old NVIDIA 7300 LE.
@iiH3R3T1C It does through "nVidia 3D Vision 3DTV" This is a feature that enables you to use a 3D display that uses its own glasses system(like here) and the signal is provided through a HDMI 1.4 cable, so you need a graphics card that has a HDMI 1.4 port. Personally, I am going to use such kit in the near future and as I have researched, it would work.

What are the viewing angles like, could 4 people watch this at slightly different angles and still get the 3d effect??
DesignerLukeFX 4 weeks ago
@DesignerLukeFX The spec says "Viewing Angle (CR>10)
170º/160º". So the horizontal viewing angle is quite wide, but it is only a 23 inch monitor, so the 4 people would have to sit close together to get a good view!
Ferret61 3 weeks ago
is it good to play/watch games/movies with 2 or more persons? or do you really need to be in front of the monitor to get the optimal 3d effect?

Does the TriDef (DDD) software comes with a serial or do you need to purchase one for $50,- in order to make use of it?
