I was living in Australia on the NW Cape when these girls burst onto the scene. I even have their debut album. It's relatively teeny-bopper music, but even after 16/17 years it still holds its own. Too bad they didn't have the promotions NSYNC, BSB, and Spice Girls had because they could have done something. Oh well.

Aussie's rock!! I reckon the reason why that girlfriend weren't as huge as other girl group these dayz is coz they actually could sing and dance!!! Not like some of the other (pop) girl groups,all fake,can't sing or dance, just looks. Besides,the competition back in the dayz (as far as comparing girl groups) they had was with rnb girl groups.-en vogue,s.w.v,tlc,brownstone...e­tc; as far as i can remember. Still,they rock. Shellsibelle, Yes okay Girlfriend were and are great, I think the difference came down to Simon Cowell's marketing. BUT hows this one (I know you would already know the words) but 56 seconds in "when you got girl power". This was 1992, 2 years before the Spice Girls. Don't know why they don't market this one. Spice Girls went multi platinium on this phrase "Girl Power", but little is know Girl Friend beat them to it!
