John Lasseter is my hero. Not only did he help bring us Pixar, the world's leading CGI film-makers, but he's also helping to bring back traditional hand-drawn animation, which I have been missing. He sees the importance in creating something new, without having to throw out old traditions. Modern animation wouldn't be the same without him and I hope this is a new start for Disney.
John Lasseter, John Musker, Ron Clements and the whole Disney Animation and Pixar team are capture the magical spirit in all our inner child's hearts. That may sound corny but I guess you just have to experience a Disney animated film at it's purest.
Aspiring animator here, but fears I'd never get to be as great. [heck, all the schools with traditional animation never returned my letters or calls...]
Keep trying my friend, the world is always in need of great animators. If you work hard enough, there's nothing you can't achieve (corny I know!) Good luck! :D
I've been hoping for a while now that traditional animation would make a comeback. 3D is good in its own way, but it stepped on hand-drawn animation's toes for almost a decade. Time to bring it back!
I have been waiting for this film for a long time now. I was in 1st grade when the little mermaid was in theaters so this is truly taking me back to my Disney roots. This is the track I've been waiting to see Disney return to for so long. We had many debates about it our animations classes in college. You are going to be making a lot of very happy with this one I think. And I thank you for that...even if I know I'm gonna be tearing up at the opening screen like the big nerd I am ^_^
Amen, man. Amen.
