Great performance. This must be 1973-1974 era, since Norman Bailey has been replaced by Laroon Holt on trumpet but Buddy Merrill is still on the show on guitar. The arrangement is an amusing mix of styles. It opens with a classic Welk Champagne Music sound for the first two minutes and then switches to conductor George Cates's preferred concert sound. Cates undoubtedly pushed the band to a more professional sound, but at the expense of the classic Welk style.
