A lot of beginners simply just run forward and try to set people on fire with the flamethrowers (degreaser etc) without using the other weapons such as shotgun (Flare gun etc) or the melee (the axtinguisher is most used)

I like the direction pyro is headed. Used to hate that class in every way possible (except pyro tennis..), then degreaser + Axtinguisher went infront of my eyes, and now Detonator.

I prefer to actually use the pyro the way it was made to be used; in ambushes. It's really fun defending in payload, because all the players are massed in one group and looking in one direction; really easy to kill them from behind......... with the hadouken.

The backburner is more suitable on some maps more than others, like nucleus, but it obviously depends on your play style. Great video btw, it's nice to see mid-air flare kills
I have a technical question. how do you switch from Primary to Secondary to Melee so fast? I know there is a switch to last weapon key, but is there a way to make it so that I can hit 3 without having to also hit the fire key to switch weapons?

Wow dude, that is some pretty intense Pyro gameplay there. I myself love Pyro and the Flare Gun is my fave. Just thought I would ask for some tips on reflection; as it seems to be the last Pyro ability I have yet to master. Everyone will tell you to wait till its in flamer range, then poof it back etc, but I have issues making it work. Any advice?
Generally, shotguns are the better choice short-range. Flare guns are great for supressing from med-long range. It's also great for picking off those annoying snipers.
The shotgun gives you more precision. The flare needs more training than the shotgun. With the flare you can go so far as to kill of two only shots and according to the distance it gives critical attacks or mini critics. The shotgun does not possess properties extra but it helps very much in the combat at half a distance.
In TF2 beta they added random crits so it MIGHT become somewhat useful now. But right now I'd better instakill someone with my trusty axtinguisher than risking my life even more for some healing.
I've heard that it's a bad idea to use the flare gun with the Degreaser because the lowered burn damage applies to the flare gun's burns too but I've also heard that the flare gun's effects are mostly psychological. What's your take on the situation?
I love pyro, but I have trouble timing the compression blast, especially at medium and close range. Do you have any advice on how to time it correctly? Also, I dig your videos, keep up the good work.
@bassoonistfromhell At close range, ping requires you to know when to airblast before the rocket even comes out. It's not as much about reaction as it is prediction.
Against the most basic spamming ones, you just have to determine the firing rate and reload rate of the launcher and airblast as the rocket comes out. Smarter, more experienced soldiers may delay their firing or wait until a certain point to start firing at you, making prediction harder, but you get a feel for them as time goes on.

@K0ragg Backburner is for (lowskill) players that wants to be solo. If you want to be a teamplayer, you go flamethrower or degreaser for the airblast. With the new patch, the backburner can also blast some air now, but its way too ammo expensive.

@MrDpsc After the flaregun update,i recommend to use it. Instant -90 hp against burning enemies. (Only chargin targe demos will suffer less damage, -45 hp) Now its a really powerful weapon. I love it.

Problem is, this class endorses dumbasses.
Backburner needs to be changed to minicrits, and ill be at ease.
But still, The class doesnt call for amazing players like Unpro, it simply brings out more and more horrible ones.
And you cant pwn them for points, because the actual items for the class can often HELP "noobs" in becoming insanely overpowered.

Wow dude, that is some pretty intense Pyro gameplay there. I myself love Pyro and the Flare Gun is my fave. Just thought I would ask for some tips on reflection; as it seems to be the last Pyro ability I have yet to master. Everyone will tell you to wait till its in flamer range, then poof it back etc, but I have issues making it work. Any advice?

Generally, shotguns are the better choice short-range. Flare guns are great for supressing from med-long range. It's also great for picking off those annoying snipers.

The shotgun gives you more precision. The flare needs more training than the shotgun. With the flare you can go so far as to kill of two only shots and according to the distance it gives critical attacks or mini critics. The shotgun does not possess properties extra but it helps very much in the combat at half a distance.

In TF2 beta they added random crits so it MIGHT become somewhat useful now. But right now I'd better instakill someone with my trusty axtinguisher than risking my life even more for some healing.

I've heard that it's a bad idea to use the flare gun with the Degreaser because the lowered burn damage applies to the flare gun's burns too but I've also heard that the flare gun's effects are mostly psychological. What's your take on the situation?

I love pyro, but I have trouble timing the compression blast, especially at medium and close range. Do you have any advice on how to time it correctly? Also, I dig your videos, keep up the good work.

@bassoonistfromhell At close range, ping requires you to know when to airblast before the rocket even comes out. It's not as much about reaction as it is prediction.
Against the most basic spamming ones, you just have to determine the firing rate and reload rate of the launcher and airblast as the rocket comes out. Smarter, more experienced soldiers may delay their firing or wait until a certain point to start firing at you, making prediction harder, but you get a feel for them as time goes on.

@UnproTF2 I so agree :D.But whats wrong with backburner?I mean ok with axtinguisher u can still do crits on burning bastards and kill em fast but i find it nice too kill em fast from behind rather than eat that heavys bullets before running :P.Again nice video

@K0ragg Backburner is for (lowskill) players that wants to be solo. If you want to be a teamplayer, you go flamethrower or degreaser for the airblast. With the new patch, the backburner can also blast some air now, but its way too ammo expensive.

@N0van3 yeah i realized now...i preffer much more the degreaser/axtinguisher combo.And i take homewrecker when i go on protecting engies duty.Also airblast from degreaser and flamethrower helps me extinguish my mates.Backburner sucks.

@MrDpsc After the flaregun update,i recommend to use it. Instant -90 hp against burning enemies. (Only chargin targe demos will suffer less damage, -45 hp) Now its a really powerful weapon. I love it.
