  • sooooooooooooooooooooooooo cool lolz

  • I have a pic I took 2 years ago in the auditorium of this biulding that no one can explain. Very creapy! I Think its a ghost no Bs!

  • me and my cousin had a xmas party across the street and decided to go inside...we saw the doll in the auditorium 2 kinda creepy. i didnt know it was overrun with asbetos so be carefull wear a dust mask

  • It's amazing to me to actually see the inside of this building. I've lived accross the street from it since I was born (13 Yrs.) and I've never bothered to go inside. Many say in my town (Holley N.Y.) that it is haunted. And yes, It is toxic. It is completely overun with Asbestos.

  • @XXyo80XX Unfortunately, you can't get in there now. I really don't think it's haunted, but people will say anything to keep children out of abandoned and crumbling structures. Asbestos only becomes toxic if you start messing around with the stuff. Lead paint is toxic if you breathe in the paint dust or eat paint chips.

  • @XXyo80XX it is haunted!!!! ive got some what proof it is haunted,i went there around 1 or 2 years ago and took pics of inside and outside of that school and i believe in 1 of the pics you c some1 staring at you through the window kinda like some of the rumors ive heard about that place.i live in brockport but my cousin goes to holley and she tells me all about that old school and i love it more and more haha

  • how did u get in yokes. this holley ny. is it a big city or a small town ?

  • Research Services for the Lazy are provided at a rate pf $100/hr with a 4 hour minimum. To what address should I send your bill?

  • too be quit onest. i live there and it is so small that if you were to look at a map of just the buffallo rochester area it would faintly be there.

  • @specialkboi34 so small, we only have one traffic light.

  • I really wish they could of tried to restore that awesome school!I want to go there(if it wasnt toxic)! But there must be some kind of reason 2 why they didnt fix it.Our new school is pretty small.1 floor and the 7th and 8th graders share the building as well.So as a result we only get 4 minutes between each period T_T.Nice vid!

  • Nice place! Wish we could see it...

  • Whats with the doll?

  • Yes, Strong was a liar and Passarell sold 'em the cornfield for the new school. The machine-shop owner's (from 1981-1994) family couldn't even pay the toxic cleanup bill and the state & village cannot demolish the building without sacrificing some other major village project. The current board is making progress.

That school graduated decades of the area's best. Memories good and bad, but the rock still stands. Got a header in the art storeroom, Bless that student teacher!

  • @dang9391 The current board is making progress? You sound like a politician who lives in Holley. That old high school still stands today because nobody knows what to do with it. Sure glad I didn't buy a house in Holley.

  • Great video, interesting read, too. What's the story with the doll?

  • If you read the comments, some of the story comes out.

  • I read all the posts before I asked the question, lol. But, I went back and read them again. All I get from the comments is that it's an 'evil' doll and is now in the new school possibly. It's at 1:42 whatever that means. And, it's the destroyer of worlds. Other than that, I didn't get much else from the comments about the doll, but I think it makes an interesting part of the story and would like to know more about it. Thanks.

  • All I know is that the doll belonged to the sister of a commenter. His dad owned a part of the building in the 1980s when the gym was used as a machine shop.

  • @moonlightcowboy i went to holley highschool (the new one) and a couple buddys of mine actually went into the place one night got the cool and came back to school with it the next day that was in 2009 all the doll is is a cabbage patch like doll that old no real creepiness to it other then its setting where it was found

  • ominous

  • My father taught both at the old school and new one. Even though I never had the chance to walk through that place, my father said he always kind of liked the place. Seeing this video makes me sad to see what has happened.

  • I graduated from that school in '72. It's a shame what was happened to that grand old building. I no longer live in Holley, and it's too bad the village appears to have the same fate as the building.

  • Restore the damn place lazies.

  • Ooops, I meant that your cousin is an idiot.... Holley cops are all morons! It has been corrupt since the day that the FAT ASS Lewis Passarell became police chief. He is such a scumbag! Awesome video man... My mother enjoyed watching it, brought back many good memories.

  • Actually, the cops in Holley aren't as bad as some big city cops I have known. Holley is a typical small town with a typical small town police force.

  • this is awesome i live in holley and the doll is in our school now yea every1 was kinda freaked out walkin into class and seeing the doll. How did u get it the with out getting caught after seein the video some of my friends tried and got busted ahahaha well thanks 4 the video all us young ppls wondered what it was like in there

  • This is so cool!!! I grew up here!

  • i live in holley and is still going to the school

  • Would have been really cool to end this with some of the images the photogroup got that day.

    Very cool. Thanks.

  • flickr dot com / photos / smlg / tags / holley (remove spaces)

  • I graduated from Holley High School in 1967 and have been back to visit Holley many times and I always look at that school building with nostalgic memories and a bit of sadness because of its derelict condition. I loved being raised and schooled in my home town of Holley NY and this vid is a trip back in time to when the world made sense and America was a great and good place. Oh the memories...thanks! WOW!

  • Why was this high school abandoned? I can't seem to find any information on as to why it was closed.

  • I think they simply built a new one and closed the old one. It was quite old, so I'm sure the upkeep cost was punishing.

  • Because Charlie Strong said Holley would grow, and his brother needed the work. Okay, really,,Holley and western NY didn't grow as expected. The school population is not much greater now then in 1968. The upkeep was not as bad as Strong said it was, he lied.

  • this is really cool . i go to holley and is saw that doll before.

  • So cool.. I have watched that grand HS rot for 16 years. Shame on the government! The generic box schools will never have character like a grand school of the 50s and 60s era. Your videos are awesome.. Keep up the good work. You have a nitch in recent history photo journalism..You need a cable channel!!! Get to work! Awesome Job. Thankx. Todd Brockport NY.

  • Yokes, My name is Jake, my father owned that building from 1981 to 1994. The basement was gutted from a Gymnasium to a machine shop. We remodeled the first floor from a school like setting to a residence. There was also an apartment on the first floor, an art studio on the second floor and a dance studio as well. Any other questions you have about this location or layout I can awnser in detail. Great Job guys. P.S. that was my little sister Kristina's doll.

  • Hi Jake,

It is things like this that make what I do worthwhile.. the human stories and connections that spaces and places have.

thanks for sharing, I'll be sure to be in touch if I have questions.

  • great work again guys.

  • I used to go to the roof of that building all the time to be alone, the view is amazing... Then one time some old people saw me go in and they called the cops... That's why they boarded it up so much.

    -Adrian

  • I didn't even think to check out the roof.

  • Thanks so much for this video. It's great. I also graduated from Holley High School but it was from the new High School. I was a junior when we moved out of this building. I remember moving stuff with a lot of teachers. It's too bad that things fell through that nothing has come of this building. It's beautiful and I'm amazed at how good it looks after 30 years of being abandoned.

    Great Job

  • I think it is wonderful that you all did this bringing back memories.I am glad no one got hurt!I think everyone should embrace historical landmarks maybe it should be cleaned up and made into a museum or something!!!Great job guys!!!!!!CAKB AND WAP

  • great video, nice idea showing the moments from your journey to, and at the end, from this school. The footage put together with the music create a nostalgic mood, well done! (5 stars) What's the tune/song called?

  • The band is Mogwai, and I think the song is Christmas Song. Thanks for watching.

  • thanks!

  • Yokes, I don't know who the assclown was that took it but I've have sources that tell me the evil doll is now in Mrs. Rorbachs class in the new high school. Very cool video! I've never seen the inside of the old high school but alwasys wondered what it looks like. Not nearly as bad as I thought it would be after 40 years.

  • I wonder what tragedies will befall the class. The doll is the destroyer of worlds. Thanks for watching.

  • I really liked the video, you guys did a great job.I graduated in 2003 and have never been in there. Even though it is a mess inside, it makes you think about the people that did walk through that building decades ago. I have heard talk about tearing it down. Our town should learn to definitely respect the past.

  • This video is is excellent !!! I was born & raised in Holley, New York and graduated from this high school in 1975. I cannot believe what the inside of the building looks like. I still remeber where we used to smoke cigarettes there !!! lol....Thanks you all did a great job with this video.

  • You're welcome. Glad you liked it.

  • evil doll at 1:42!

  • I believe that I may be the person walking outside the old high school at the end of the video. Does anyone know for sure who that is??

  • The only person at the end is my team mate Lopix. I'm not sure who you are talking about.

  • Bad things happen to those who steal awesome creepy dolls from abandoned high schools.

  • Im in 8th grade at Holley and I see that doll everyday. It scares the living shit outta me! But this is a cool vid. Everyones talkin bout it

    -Banana Muffin

  • That's unfortunate. Bad things come to people who steal. :-)

  • This was a great video...since I belonged to the last class in this high school..class of 1976..it was very sad to see the condition of this school...it would have been neat to see the writing on all of those auditorium chairs and the rest of that chalk board whose names I recognized...great job!

  • I have video of the backs of the chairs, actually.

  • that is freaking sweet

  • Wow! This was really goood! I use to go to holley...but not to that school. I'm a senior right now and everything. All the kids in holley are talking about this video. I go to a different school now, but my brother still goes there and he went on youtube to look at this video. Again, amazing job. :)

  • Tell them to be careful. Don't want anyone getting hurt doing the things we do. I'd also say "don't trash the place", but it is pretty far gone. Also, don't get arrested.

  • Welcome to Holley; where the cops do nothing but run radar and harass people going to church.

Ever been to the Buffalo Train Center, the abandoned one? It is quite insane. There are a few websites dedicated to what you do for local places in Rochester. I highly recommend checking them out. Ill try and post the link.

  • My cousin is the police chief...hmmm

  • Your cousin is an IDIOT!!!! Holley cops are all blow boys! CORRUPT, all due to the FAT ASS Lewis Passarell.. Awesome Video man! Great job, my mom really enjoyed, brought back many memories for her....

  • That's funny you say that...suffering the harrassment from Passarell is one of the primary reasons I left Holley way back when...the more things change...the more they stay the same.

  • I remember Charlie Strong warning the people of Holley that this school was going to fall down around their ears way back in 1968. RIP Charlie, but the school still stands and it laughs at you because it was built to last by people who thought doing so was important.

  • I graduated from this school in '75 and it looked the same then...kidding, this film leaves me sad cause I remember when it was alive. It was a great old building to school in...makes me want to sneak in...hmmm, maybe I will

  • That's cool. Feel free to share any stories or knowledge of the school, if you don't mind. I love hearing first hand accounts of places.

  • I remember as a kid going to band concerts in the aud and sitting up in the balcony...thought it was great. Then in high school, the balcony was off limits for safety concerns. You had some great shots of the majestic old aud. I remember it had these great window curtains and stage curtains. Haunting is a great description of your film for me. Brings back a lot of memories from 30+ years ago. We were the last class to graduate from this school. Thanks for bringing back the memories...

  • wow...i go to holley high school, the new one-obviously. this footage is creepy and awesome at the same time. id like to go in there-but were not allowed. Did you have permission to be in there??

  • Permission? I'm not sure what that is.

  • This is awesome--I love exploring and photographing abandoned schools, houses, buildings, etc...! They fascinate me. They sort of have a 'haunting' but captivating sadness about them. Make more videos like this!!

  • ditto...make more of these!

  • Nicely done!
