@612curtis Actually, I have posted over 200 videos, but I deleted lots of them because they were pretty lame. I am just not the world's best video maker!
@debcoart wow.. I can really relate to this... I LOVE art, and I do it well... but I can't help feeling like I put my audience to sleep.. (I hate narrating my video.) =/ ...I'm actually a funny person though, but no one would know watching my videos.. lol oO
@TheBroodingTom Visual artists don't always make good performing artists, and that's a fact. I have some art technique videos here that are so monotonous and boring that I nearly go into a coma. The artists are very talented and they have great techniques and instructions, but OMG....it's almost like sitting in Mr. Grogan's History class all over again...zzzzzzzzzz
I hear you about being turned off by too much art history & detailed blah blah...most of us are impatient and want to get down to the art....techniques, hands-on..
Besides having an artistic mind......you are also psychic....It's all revealed in the hands
Is your journal done with 3d neon paint? It glows and pops out in the video. Also what's the difference from acrylic waterbased painting & oil painting? What's better? Thanks, Zoe
@AF0093 Actually no, there is no 3D neon paint used. It is the lighting and adjustments that I made to the color when I edited the video. It was too washed out in color and didn't match the real artwork, so I had to use an enhancer....and that made it glowy, which isn't what I wanted. However, after making adjustments to the original video 8 different times, I finally said....fine.
As far as which medium is better....that is an individual preference. I find it impossible to stick with one medium so I am always jumping back and forth. Acrylics can be made to look like oils by adding some thickening mediums by Golden or Liquitex, and they can closely approximate the oils with some practice.
@AF0093 However, nothing will ever quite replace that buttery wonderfulness that the oils have when you brush them across a surface, or the glow that seems to emanate from within. It takes much longer for the oils to dry, which is wearing on us impatient types. heheheh Some day you must try using some oils just to find out for yourself.
