One of the main reasons I bought a wii was so I could play nintendo franchise games like zelda and mario, another was for the virtual console. And when you think about it, the wii is more casual and great for parties. That's why I'm taking it to college instead of my ps3, so i can have wii parties in my dorm lol. if nintendo allows me to transfer all my virtual games to the wii u i buy the wii u. if i'm told tough, you can't transfer them but buy a wii u, then i don't buy a wii u and wii becomes the last nintendo console i ever buy.

Nintendo just released news on a new console called the Wii U. (or something to that nature) I say the best time to trade in the Wii is a couple months after the Wii U comes out.
Actually black ops for wii made online play easy but no one seems to use that for example. It was almost like playing on the other consoles plus the controls were great plus you could ACTUALLY aim!

@TheMisterManGuy I have the Wii version of Twilight Princess, and I've played the Gamecube version. There is nothing satisfying about the Wiimote. Ever.
You just wave it around and if it feels like it, it'll register the motion a few seconds before or after you wanted it to.
What's satisfying is consistent, instantaneous responses, like you get with a freaking button.
@TheSmackerlacker Many reviewers said the Wii controls are better than the gamecube controller, especially in aiming. If it's your opinion fine. But there's no denying that Motion controls offer benifits traditional control schemes can't match.
@TheMisterManGuy Motion controllers offer unresponsive, physically tiring controls which serve only to put more distance between thought and on-screen action, which is the exact opposite of what a controller should do.
Motion controls bring exactly nothing of value to the world of video games.
As for aiming, the Wiimote is somewhat better, until the thing you want to shoot is off-screen. Then you're fucked.

Not only do the controls work, but they add more depth to the combat system & makes the game more satisfying to play. @TheMisterManGuy I have only two Wii games at the moment. Twilight Princess and Red Steel two. Red Steel 2 has pretty responsive controls, but that doesn't change the fact that waving my arms around the room and getting stiff joints does not enhance my enjoyment of a game.
If I want to feel stiff and sore, I'll go to the gym. When I want to sit on my ass and play a game, I won't be using my Wii.
@TheSmackerlacker I understand if you don't prefer motion controls, but to me, it adds more depth & immersion in ther gameplay. Plus, not all Wii games require motion controls. A ton of Wii games are compatible with the classic controller or gamecube controller.

You just wave it around and if it feels like it, it'll register the motion a few seconds before or after you wanted it to.
What's satisfying is consistent, instantaneous responses, like you get with a freaking button.

@TheMisterManGuy Motion controllers offer unresponsive, physically tiring controls which serve only to put more distance between thought and on-screen action, which is the exact opposite of what a controller should do.
Motion controls bring exactly nothing of value to the world of video games.
As for aiming, the Wiimote is somewhat better, until the thing you want to shoot is off-screen. Then you're fucked.

@TheSmackerlacker ......What Wii games have you been playing? Because I doubt it's games like Skyward Sword. Not only do the controls work, but they add more depth to the combat system & makes the game more satisfying to play. If you try to deny that, then that tells me you never played any motion controlled game done right.

@TheMisterManGuy I have only two Wii games at the moment. Twilight Princess and Red Steel two. Red Steel 2 has pretty responsive controls, but that doesn't change the fact that waving my arms around the room and getting stiff joints does not enhance my enjoyment of a game.
If I want to feel stiff and sore, I'll go to the gym. When I want to sit on my ass and play a game, I won't be using my Wii.

@TheSmackerlacker I understand if you don't prefer motion controls, but to me, it adds more depth & immersion in ther gameplay. Plus, not all Wii games require motion controls. A ton of Wii games are compatible with the classic controller or gamecube controller.

Funny. I don't recall caring about any of the Trade in reasons.
5) I don't really care about those other systems, they really don't have many games I like, or I would have gotten them instead.
4) I don't watch DVD's, I play games. besides that, get Netflix and it's cheaper than renting the same amount of DVD's from a media store.
3) I don't play many, if any, 3 party games. I don't have a diverse series/company list.
2) I don't care about online stuff, I use the stuff on Steam for that.

@juanaman well, I know graphics arent everything, but gamers today need more than gimmics, sure the Wii was innovative for a while but after that...Nintendos games were the only real thing keeping the wii alive. Very few 3rd party games were good. If i had to choose between playing a Nintendo game on the wii or Xbox 360, it would def. be the 360. If both games played the same on both consoles, why bother playing on a system with cheaper graphics....

@DmoneyBrown When this was made the PS3 had just come out for a shitload of money and very few good games and was not worth the purchase. As of now the PS3 is morethan satisfactory and worth it. I like the wii best, though.:D
