  • i'd love to see a mac user and a windows user switch computers, and see which one adjusts faster. just saying.

  • You know the funny thing is that even on "all in one" pc's you would have to do the same thing as an iMac. So you just either add ram or hd space or buy a new one. The argument that mac cannot be easily upgradable only applies if your comparing "like" items like a tower ( mac pro) to a pc equivalent since the form factor is different from the iMac and the iMac is not design to be easily upgradable because of space constraints as in other all in ones. But the mac pro can to a limit.

  • Running Lion on a Snow Leopard computer right now. :/

  • I like the second mac

  • @Naughtonator Macbook Air...

  • @Naughtonator Oh I think there's a bit of a mis-match going on here. I'm talking about proper big PC's. As-in desktop gaming pc's, development pc's etc etc. and comparing them to like the Mac-Pro for example (not mac-book pro). I would personally never even bother with a laptop, but thats because I need power from my machine. I am a 3d games programmer working with the latest in graphics and physics api's, so the latest tech is required. Something you cant get with a laptop.

  • @Naughtonator They are not real upgrades. I'm talking new processor, gpu, sound card, motherboard etc.

  • @Naughtonator Yeah in the same way you can "upgrade" a laptop.

  • @jharris459 could you explain why it was a damn sight easier on a mac as opposed to a pc? lol i've got a pc and i can't honestly believe it was easier. the cpu, ram, hard drives gpus (i mean gpu for you mac guys) i can't see it. i wish i could argue the pc being easier but hell you and i both know it's not true just like a mac being easier to upgrade. i know this was post is old but you needed to be called on that stupidity....

  • @blueovalfan23 you know how many ram options we had when upgrading macs ram and price. We had 2 option of manufacturer not of speed had to buy from apple and jacked up price $50 for 4 gigs. I can get better 8 gigs of faster ram for $34. Its not that its harder both relatively easy about as hard as legos clip together and go. But pcs have way more compatibility and your full of shiz cause really you cant upgrade cpu on mac cause they use intel which have mobos only good for one cpu type.

  • @trilintia i am full of shit? i think not. did you even read my comment? i was saying pcs are easy to upgrade. i'm not gonna go insulting your itelligence here but i've seen it done on an older setup. the newer stuff maybe i don't mess wityh overpriced, under powered (at their price range) stuff. i've built a few in my day and i can't see why you couldn't just buy ram of the same specs and it work. it makes no sense. in anycase, that is what you get for buying a computer from a hardware company.

  • @blueovalfan23 damn sight easier on a mac direct quote from you got me turned around didn't the person you were talking to comment as for using same spec ram they completely void any warranty even extended if you use non mac hardware. Awesome warrantys really apples biggest selling point

  • @trilintia look, i'm being nice here and not really pointing out things you are obviously mistaken. the guy i was talking to was saying macs are easier to upgrade than pcs. my point was pretty much that installing hardware is not hard on either. the quote you are repeating was part of a question not a statement. you wanna keep your warranty, pay the extra. i do not care either way but you can physically put in something not branded with an apple and it work, correct?

  • @Naughtonator yeah tbh ive uprgraded hard rvie ram cpu and gpu on macs and its a dam sight easier than on a shitty pc maybe your pc people are just shit with computers

  • @jharris459 lying is a sin sir

  • Hi I'm a Mac, and I'm a Jew.....

  • a perfect metaphor. its impossible to crack open a mac. most pc shells slide right off.

  • Ok with the whole upgrade thing there is one more point to consider. I have only used PCs my entire life, because I am competent enough to use one. When mine gets old or I want to get a new one, and I sell and old computer even if it is only a year old, I'll get 1/5 of what I paid if I am lucky. Conversely Macs have great resell prices. So yes you pay 3000 up front, but when you sell it 4 years later, you'll still get a sizable 1000+. Just something to think about.

  • @DawnOfEos Why not just upgrade the Hardware. and I've heard this "great resale value" thing before. Not a good argument. Why would anyone buy a mac, and a used one at that.

  • @Nrt2Pnt0 Don't ask me man, I wouldn't buy a mac even if it was new and carved from the wood of the True Cross. I am merely stating a fact though that even used macs from like 2-3 years back sell pretty well while any old PCs I have tried to flip get peanuts even if they are only a year old and in great condition. It doesn't matter to me since PCs are way more functional and versatile etc. but Macs resale prices are way higher. Why? I don't know and nor do I really care.

  • so true

  • Yeah and the the Pc gets a "fatal error" and the bsod appears. Ans the only thing he can tell you is : Bad pool header !

    Go fuck your pc

  • @MOMOFALCO

And then the mac gets the beach ball of death,or the greys out to the "please restart" shit screen,or just hard crashes entirely.

    My real computer(A PC) hasn't BSOD'd once.

    Fuck overpriced pos macs.

  • That guy on the left is so tall and beardless it's super weird. The last guy who kills the Mac with chloroform is a WAAAAY better actor than the PC!!!!!!!! P.S. chloroform rulezzzz

  • uhh.. i don't get this

  • @itsmeadrian1234 have you ever upgraded hardware on a mac?

the point is supposedly, you can't.

  • That's right you can't upgrade mac but pc can.

  • when in comes down to it all you are buying with a mac is a brand name, design all wrapped in a shitty OS. i found a laptop with my same specs, it was double the price of what i paid. i paid $640(my pc), $1280(my pc as a mac).have fun paying huge amounts of money for some fuckin eye candy cause the mac OS is horribly incompatible. It seeks to impress you with spiffy graphics and widgets but lacks any real functionality.

  • serious im so tired of tech illterate retards claiming macs are better simply cause apple said so. i could rant for a long time about apple and macintosh but let mejust say this..steve jobs you are an unbelievable douche bag

  • haha, funny Apple logo!

  • @gettinburned FUCK YOU MAC FAG SUCK SOME STEVE JOBS DICKsSSsS. GO REPLACE ur 20,000 DOLLAR CANDY aPPlE P.O.S THE ONlY REASON U overpay for your candy apple POS is because ur tiny FUCkiNG brain doesn't know how to handle a PC, which is incredibly easy and better than MAC u shot fuck hole

  • Normally you don't need to upgrade a Mac, and if you do, every Ten years. A Windows would be Slow as fuck after 2 Years, so you need to buy a new one. This video sucks.

  • @GettinBurned 6 years and running like a champ. Learn how to use a computer there pal.

  • @alexisonfiredb How many fuckin antiviruses did you download? How much money did you spend on all that shit? I can go on every Website with no problems, on my Mac. Anyways, it's an opinion. I prefer Mac, you prefer Windows.

  • @GettinBurned I dont have any anti-virus,spyware ..... protectors. I just don't download things were the file size is too big or small for that program or what ever im downloading. I wont lie though my other computers did die from virus because i wasnt cautious, even with Norton. It is an opinion and thats why i get annoyed when people flame others. btw hope ur enjoying steam about time you guys got it

  • @GettinBurned And you're a Mac , fucking fag!

  • @blacbraun Buy one, use it for 2 years and then talk to me again, you asshole.

  • @GettinBurned Or you could just reset the PC instead of throwing it away and saving all of your files on another hard drive.

  • @thenoobguru but you still fail

i can build a ship way beter than you

hell i can build an arc for free

you skills sux cheers - noah

  • Mac Pros Are upgradeable.

  • @RavenRecordsInc and so is your mom BOOOYAA !!!!

  • This acer PC has lasted me so far, and guess what it can gaem with out a fucking program to convert the shit

Fuck macs fuck the people who use them

  • srry but this video is seriously flawed, it is super easy to upgrade memory in a mac even a mac laptop, as well as hard drives and fans, as far as videocards, the mac pro can so ya srry but the video is wrong, to some extent lol

  • @JakesTechBox theres only one type of mem u can get and hd now when it comes to gpus well your boned u can get the 4 yo 285 that doesnt ove dx10 cause mac doesnt use dx and get nothing out of it now while your doing that ill be making games and 3d movies on my gtx 480 with dx 11 witch u will never get on a mac seance well they cant support it cause they cant run it g/j wasting your money although im sure the Asian kid they had put your mac together is enjoying his 2c aday

  • Mac sucks!

  • i dont get it....

  • @spuddapotato2494 every time you want to upgrade a mac you have to buy a new one :(

  • you can upgrade a mac pro

  • for $5000

  • even if u have an onboard video card, you can still buy another one and overlap (use the new one instead of theinbiult one) mac is overpriced to begin with, and buying new ones over and over again jsut to a get few new upgrades is a waste of money

    PC FTW!

  • HAHA!!!

  • P.S. If you need a computer-constructor (LEGOmputer, heh) - go ahead buy PC.

If you need a machine to work on, not dig in it - Macs are there for you.

  • Not dig in it? It takes a lot of time to pull out a video card and add a new video card thats at the top of the line?

For you maybe but for me it takes me roughly 3-4 minutes to swap it out and be ready to run. Get a real computer and toss away that toy of yours.

  • I'm speaking about a notebook, not desktop computer - they all have videocard integrated in motherboard. I'd like to see you replacing it in 3-4 minutes.

  • gotcha, well it will take longer obviously however it still can be done.

even if it takes 2 hours to replace. How long do you use yoru computer? 1 year? 2 years? whats 2 hours in 2 years?

  • What "still can be done"? Replacement of _integrated_ videocard? How, with soldering-iron? Integrated means welded into motherboard, undetachable. Have you ever tried to replace a videocard in notebooks? Looks like not.

  • yes i have actually. I have soldered a video card on my first laptop and on my last one it was a pull off clip on type deal. You undo couple screws that held it in place and then it pulled right off. The mounting was similar design to an CPU. Only on the video card it was one long strand of needles, not all of them in a small square.

  • You soldered a video card? O_o Was it working afterwards? (-:

I guess upgrading a mac also isn't a problem for you then...

  • sure upgrading a mac is not a problem.. if you want to replace something with the same speed :-)

PC on the other hand offers multiple speeds of the same package so their soldering points are identical which allows you to swap stuff. Yes it worked and its still working. I use it to tune my car with it since it has a 9 pin serial on it.

  • so you are saying imacs sucks ? grrr ¬¬'!! maybe i can't upgrade but i just buy one every 4 years is not that much.

  • Eh, you can upgrade the RAM and the Hard-drive yourself. But the rest can't be upgraded on an iMac. Maybe if you want to spend over hundreds of dollars upgrading the rest by taking it to an Apple Genius.

But let's face it, PC wins at reliability and do-it-yourself, and of course, cost-effectiveness. It's what makes PC stand out more than the Mac, aside from gaming rigs and enthusiast consoles, because people who do heavy rendering and play games at the same time go for PC.

  • yeah and I love spending $2000 each time I want to upgrade. So macs are only there for you when you want to go bankrupt.

  • Sure. BTW, if you're so good with the solderer, can you upgrade a inbuilt webcam and microphone in my colleague's HP/Compaq notebook? And also add a keyboard backlight as in MacBookPro. And firewire.

I even though of aluminium case, but I guess there's nothing we could do to make it thinner...

    (-;

  • This argument only applies to notebooks. Even the iMac has a soldered in mobile GPU. You can't just pop it open and replace the graphics card, power supply, and processor. Unless you buy a $2000+ tower. At least since after the G4's Apple computers don't have hidden RAM anymore. To upgrade a G4 iMac, there's one user accessible laptop sized slot and another under a plate that requires a torx screwdriver.. under there is a desktop sized module. I'm using simple terms because you're a moron.

  • Comment removed

  • ok macs and other manufacturer notebooks are not that upgradeable you discovered something new, now talk about workstation and desktops computers ^^ you start.

  • @Backfire37888 If your not poor, $2000 is nothing, mac is the way to go. Typed from my new $1800 macbook pro.

  • @BlingBIow Why pay so much for something so shitty sir?

  • Even in macbook it's very easy to upgrade RAM, and it's fairly easy to upgrade HDD (it's not so easy in some PC notebooks).

As for soundcard for example - most PCs now also has onboard one. And how often do you really upgrade it? (How often do you actually approach your computer with a screwdriver?)

Macs come with decent hardware, so rarely you need it, and for soundcard only better you can get is external, so no difference (except for that most PCs don't have firewire while macs have it).

  • Here's the only problem with this video. I have a mac. I have upgraded it. My mac was getting slow, so I bought more memory. IN MY OWN HOME, I unscrewed 4 screws, put in the new memory, put the screws back, and now it works fine again.

  • you own a mac, you obviously know nothing about computers by buying one, therefore your comment is invailid.

  • You own a pc, you obviously think you're a tech genius because you're computer breaks all the time and you have to fix it. Now you are acting like a douche, responding to rational fact-based comments with immature put-downs. Therefore your comment is invalid.

  • A PC with the Mac OS instead on Windows is the best period. You get the best of both worlds, windows sucks

  • Hi my Friend has a 2 gig mac that barely runs wow,

Hi I have a pc with 3 gig and almost the same specs as my friends mac and i run WoW at highest graphics..

    Im a pc.

  • I am not fussy about mac os but i love thier macbooks thats all not their os though... hehe

  • hahahaha

Yea, the mac is a piece of shit.

  • i agree, i have only have had my mac crash, many times, my pc only shutdown, because it overheated

    I'm Dan and I'm a PC

  • U can upgrade memory and harddrive on all Macs.

Why would u want to upgrade anything else?

When a laptop is outdated you buy a new one anyway.

And nobody buys all-in-ones for their performance. It takes a long time before they are outdated. (And U can always sell an "outdated" iMac for quite a lot of money.)

  • LOL

I made my gaming laptop last for 4 years because I kept upgrading it. All the parts cost me less than $400 when you account for selling the old parts.

Oh but sure, I should have just spent $2,000 on a new one every year according to you. The price of used laptops go down VERY quickly. Just opening the thing makes it go down $300 or more.

  • I had a gaming laptop once (a Dell) and the graphics card fried after 1.5years or so.

Tried getting a replacement card but the cheapest one would have been something like 300€.

300€ for mobile graphics card that is at least 1 or 2 generations old? no thanks!

Spend 500€ upgrading my desktop PC for gaming and bought a Macbook for when I'm on the go. (Needed a mobile Laptop anyway - and no gaming laptop is mobile!)

The only reason to own a PC today is Gaming.

  • Your graphics probably fried because you don't know how to properly ventilate your laptop while playing WoW for 10 hours straight.

Yes, 17" gaming laptops are easily portable unless you are weak. You say you just bought a macbook instead, but what did you spend $1,500 for 1/3 the specs? Mac prices are a joke, the specs are a joke, and software development is a joke.

  • The graphics card fried because of the inherent problem of laptops: It's difficult to keep high performance hardware cool in such a small case.

and NO, gaming laptops are NOT portable.

They are heavy and bulky to carry, don't fit on small tables (the ones you would find in a train, airplane, university, etc.) and most importantly: they don't have any battery life. (2hours of battery life is pathetic)

Why did I buy a macbook?

long battery life and awesome touchpad, keyboard and screen.

  • I have no problems carrying my 17" around, sorry.

Just as I suspected, you bought a mac only for the looks as most people do. That is fine I guess, as long as you admit it.

  • I'll talk current 13" macbook pro here (similar arguments were true for my macbook 2 or 3 years go):

    - long battery life (7hours)

    - 13" (great size for a portable)

    - awesome quality display (like all apple displays)

    - best touchpad on the market.

    - good quality and silent keyboard

    - small&light power adapter (sometimes u need to carry that too. though not often with 7hours of battery)

    - not bad performance. (will run all the games I can think of right now. Crysis, COD4, GTA4, etc.)

  • I bought my gaming laptop for a good price,

came with an extended life battery,

    great specs,

    and great look,

all for lower than a mac.

And I can carry it around and play WoW for ten hours and nothing goes wrong. I can take it every where and play WoW everywhere.

    No issues, no wasted money.

  • What about your powersuppy, graphics card, Sound card, or anything else for that matter?

  • In general, no one makes after market parts for Laptops. Also, getting an All-in-one, no matter what platform, is kind of a scam. For $1300, you can get an Alienware. Sure a damn good one. But if you buy the parts you can get a comparable, if not equal PC for about $500-$1000 depending on where you shop and if there are any sales going on.

  • pc laptop and mac books can be upgrade. you can upgrade the hdd and the memory and on some brands, video card, wireless card, etc. If you dont know how do it, ask a pc user to do it for you;)

  • I don't get it,i mean pc laptop can't be upgraded, neither all-in-ones.

The only type of computer which can be upgraded is the tower.A mac pro is a tower.

  • Actually, PC laptops now-a-days can be bought where you can replace the CPU and graphics card on top of the RAM and hard drive.

All in ones typically can only have basics upgraded, but it's possible.

  • Macs are great for people who don't want to mess with any settings. Windows 7 will make a big difference when it comes out.

Both PC and Mac have pretty much the same capabilities out of the box.

  • Seal all hatches! We have winy ass Mac fanboy on the loose! Make sure all children are present and accounted for, this one is a doosey folks!!!

    Now to be serious.

Windows 7 is designed to take about as much memory as XP. It does it's job well on many videos I have seen, and those videos do include 5 to 7 year old computers.

Microsoft actually thought about those lazy ass people that don't want to get off their asses and upgrade for once!

  • lol, I had the beta, on my pc, and it's definitely not a resource hog. Quit being such a whiny bitch just because your a apple fagboy.

  • I have installed Windows 7 beta on 2 computers, currently, I have the RC running on 4 computers. Even with half a gig of RAM it's better than XP.

  • Any OS that requires 2GB of RAM minimally (x64) is a resource hog, i can run other current 64 bit operating systems with as little as 256 MB of ram that still perform better than Windows anyways.

It's idiotic to base your opinion on a beta version. The beta started out better than it ended the RTM is abominable. To the best of my knowledge, the highest system requirements of any operating system in existence. But you claim it's not a resource hog, well on what scale, compared to what?

  • Hahahaha, Mac doesn't upgrade they just get new ones and take more money off you.

  • Look, alot of you are having a good bitch about mac and windows and thats fine. But can some1 tell me which would be better to use recording music? Which is a better multitasker straight out of the box. I realy don't care about all the little things. I know alot of people in the music industry use macs. Also how true is it that macs can't get viruses? I would think that windows would be more prone to viruses. But i just want you guys to tell me what you think?

  • It's not true at all that Macs can't get viruses. There are just a lot fewer viruses written for Mac because a lot fewer people use them, and because a lot of the people who do use them are tech literate and know how to protect themselves against viruses, rendering the whole process of writing one a bit useless. As Macs become more popular and mainstream, though, Mac viruses are going to increase as well.

  • Best multitasker straight out of the box? osx86 on a PC. I can build a 500$ PC and buy a 200$ monitor that's as good as an 2600$ iMac. Or I can double both those sums and get a beast that runs osx86.

  • PCs are far more useful than Macs. Although Macs are better designed, and are stable, let me see a Mac user open up their Mac and change the MOTHERBOARD. With PC's it's easy, and all drivers are supplied with Windows. With Mac, well… not really that simple.

  • Why would I want to change the Mainboard on my Mac? The way OSX & apps are designed the run very efficient - even on older Macs.A G5 for example can still run Leopard.Lets see an 8 year old PC try to run Vista ;-)

The two components that require updates (Memory & HDD) can be changed on all the Macs (the mini is a bit more trouble).

The way Macs are designed are like consoles.Instead of Programmers saying "forget code optimizing, just say you need XYZ on board) the code gets optimized.

  • now try to run Snow Leopard on a G5. LOL

  • I think it is safe to say that all things eventually must come to an end. And running the most current OS ATM, Leopard on an eight year old machine is more than you could expect from an Windows based PC ;-)

  • An 8 year old PC can essentially run anything to this day. I mean, Buying up-to date hardware is cheaper than a new PC, and the computer itself is really just a shell, you can get it to work with any hardware, and it'll work better than a Mac's dreams.

I don't understand this "Stability" argument for Macs. Only time I've ever gotten a crash with Vista was when I got faulty drivers for hardware I don't possess, and I've never crashed with Windows 7.

  • Actually, I can run Vista on a 2004 workstation with Opteron CPUs flawlessly which is when the G5 Macs came out!, 2004, count with me, 2005 2006 2007 2008 2009 thats 5 years, not 8! douchebag.

  • I go Mac all the way but sadly this commercial is very true.

  • Lol so true..

  • Oh, Mac. I laugh at you.

  • Macs don't need to be upgraded as often as PCs, because generally a new release of Mac OS will run faster on the same hardware than the previous version. I'd like to see Vista or Windows 7 make an old machine running XP faster.

Also, Macs can be upgraded. All iMacs have a memory door underneath that is used to easily access and upgrade RAM. You people also seem to be forgetting the Mac Pro, which is easier to upgrade than any Wintel box due to Apple's superior design.

  • Um only the bare essentials can be upgraded. You can't upgrade even the VGA on macbooks, which is annoying if you decide you want to use it for gaming. Basically everythin is not to be messed w/

  • Macs don't need to be upgraded because they run on the Unix base system which is far more efficient than MS-DOS that PC's run on.

  • MS-DOS went public domain a while ago, it's not underneath windows anymore.

  • but it still have some bugs, thats why upgrades r useful

  • For ME - a Mac is NOT a gaming machine. Its a machine to do work. Easy workflows in graphic and video editing. Superb, stable OS. If I want to play I buy a console - that way I don't have to worry about the next $500 graphics card just to keep up with a game that comes out 6 months after I purchased a gaming rig because Software Makers just say "don't optimize - just require a bigger CPU, bigger GFX Card, etc."

  • True Rosen, but I love both my PC and consoles. SO fun.

  • Since when is it required to have a $500 graphics card? The only time you need a $500 graphics card is when you want to play Crysis at 25x16 res, and Crysis is a shitty game anyway. Seriously, your argument is bullshit. Oh and mostly people who buy the most expensive hardware (or just own it) are people who are hardware enthusiasts, I have yet to see a gamer who would pay $500 to play a game, because no one ever does it.

  • Agreed, $500 video cards are for the HUGH resolutions. I have a 8800GTX, that's now $100-150, that can handle ANYTHING I've thrown at it at 1920x1200, with at bare minimum of 20 FPS.

  • Macs need to be upgraded more often than PC's due to the simple fact that the performance is very sub-par.

Mac Pro is also ridiculously overpriced - I mean, I can easily build PC's at a fourth of the price.

  • "I'd like to see Vista or Windows 7 make an old machine running XP faster."

Actually, my 3-year-old computer runs much faster with Windows 7 RC1 than it does with XP.

  • I'm not a fanboy but I would have to admit this is true.

I like both equally ok? but the fact in time you want to replace your mac you have to throw it away, something as simple as lets just say 1 more mb of ram makes you have to get a new mac. That's a lot of money too be honest.

  • nice video

  • are you sure your not using a pc? you might want to double check.

  • Why does every PC fanboy say this. I UPGRADE MY MAC ALL THE FUCKING TIME REALLY EASILY. I get really annoyed when stupid idiots say we cant.

  • LOL!! Yeah right. You can't upgrade a Mac all the time. You seem to think people who own PC's havent owned or do not own a Mac. You can't upgrade it all the time or do any significant upgrades on a single Mac. Quit lying.

  • im not lying. I upgrade my Mac every week. Drivers, System Updates, New Apps. But if you mean Speed and new hard drives, I've done that to

  • Lol. Yeah right.

  • You just a stupid PC fanboy.

  • Youre just a mac fag who needs to lie about Mac to justify spending more money than what the Mac is worth.

  • Macs have integrated graphics cards, lack driver support for new processor releases (see i7), are rarely compatible with new components, and generally get API's and java updates later than even Linux. Drivers and system updates are just updates. Upgrading RAM and Hard Drives are a joke of a utility that is practically mandatory. Finally, apps aren't upgrades by any definition. An upgrade requires the increased capacity of a previous function. Macs don't upgrade most hardware.

  • "Why does every PC fanboy say this. I UPGRADE MY MAC ALL THE FUCKING TIME REALLY EASILY. I get really annoyed when stupid idiots say we cant" lol buying a new mac isn't "upgrading hardware"...just so you know...(i used to own one)

  • what makes it funny = 100% true

  • couldn't agree with you more

  • lol

  • nice!

  • Back to your cult.

"Oi, Jobs, think you're missing a sheep!"

  • Anyone who knows anything builds their own computer anyway.

  • true that

  • Comment removed

  • while i refuse to buy apple products the only thing that can't be updated easily on a mac is a videocard

  • I beg to differ. The ram on a mac is not that different from the ram on a windows box. To upgrade my macbook it cost about the same if not less than it cost to upgrade a PC running windows.

  • Rofl... this is so cheesy!

It's hilarious because it's all true. That "apple" logo ought to be submitted to Apple to be used. >=)

  • hehe mac sucks

    nice apple

  • I love that last one! Is he supposed to be Leapord? He's all Shhh... Its true I work for a business as a tech support and we use macs. They are always going out on us. And the biggest reason is that you can't upgrade! On a PC you can get a completely new Motherboard and update things not on a Mac tho.

  • lol

  • the only thing you can upgrade on a mac(new one) is the ram. thats it, nothing else.

  • PC owns Mac. and what you said is totaly true!

  • You can upgrade everything on a mac. its also a lot easier to upgrade the hard drive and Ram on a mac laptop and Desktop than a PC.

  • That's complete bullshit and you know it. To upgrade a hard drive, you just unplug the old one and plug in the new one. You can go down the street to WAL-MART and buy a PC hard drive. There isn't an Apple Store for hundreds of miles around here, so if I had a mac, how would it be easier to upgrade? Plus, my PCs Ram is $60, Hard drive $100 for 500GB. How much would I spend upgrading a macs ram and hard drive??

  • Well, my guess is that the RAM would be outrageously expensive as it's proprietary, and the HDD will cost you an arm and a leg. Basically doing anything with Apple costs the virginity of your daughter.

  • fuck mac. I put windows xp on my macbook. mac computers are good as long as u get rid of their operating systems

  • Not really... this video kinda explains why. U can't upgrade them

  • Upgrading HARDWARE. It can't be done on a Mac, because it can't be done on the physical computer. It has NOTHING WHATSOEVER to do with the software.

  • If it has a standard mainboard with standard slots for RAM, and if it has other peripherials slots like PCI, and PCI-E slots, then it CAN BE upgraded. Of course MAC OS won't support non MAC standard hardware, but Windows XP WILL.

  • It's not the OS, it's the drivers. And on top of that, each PC takes different RAM, however the RAM for a Mac would doubtlessly be proprietary, or a totally unique variety made only by Apple and only compatible with Apple computers. They did this with older PCs to prevent pawning off processors and whatnot from blown computers for installation in other brands.

Also, the majority of Macs are notebook computers, which do not have the expansion slots you mention, especially in the case of Apple.

  • Well, when I said it's because the OS, I was thinking that the Os doesn't support the majority of new hardwares because they don't have proper drivers for them... The newer macs with core 2 duo processors are in fact upgradeable IMO, because they have standard ddr2 ram slots and standard slots for newer intel CPUS. Of course you'll need driver support for them, but with MAC OS it's unlikely to support them, but with Win XP, it's a different story. About laptops: You're right.

  • eh macs are like dells have custom crap that they dont want anyone to get from anywhere but them so try buying some ram for a mac good luck taking your mac apart for one and then trying to put in some new ram that may have a totally differnt configuration

  • Bad acting - bad sound - bad video quality - also not true. you can upgrade the ram on a mac, its just retardedly expensive.

  • well did we say we were upgrading ram? no. the PC said "lets upgrade memory". hence why the new mac killed the old mac

  • Um, this isn't truth. Get off your lazy ass and take it to an Apple store to upgrade if you can't even open a fucking computer, dickshit.

  • Upgrading a mac is possible but pointless. It's like pimping a Scion XP: no matter how pretty your box is, it's still a box.

  • lol nice PC win

  • uhm you can upgrade a mac

  • Uhm, Im pretty sure you cannot upgrade the OS on a mac.

  • pretty sure you can leopard is an upgrade just slam in the dvd and push upgrade

  • Hahaha this is so true! They just kill the old one off and introduce a new one that looks different, can run World of Warcraft, and costs you another $2000.

  • mac is sooo gay!

  • Um...since when can't you upgrade macs? Macs are upgradeable, the message in this film is not accurate.
