Being a non-asian person myself,it's rare that i add movie like IP man to my most favorite list. This movie is not a stupid superman-like flying kung fu type action movie. This movie depicts a tragical period with a historical touch in it. Donnie yen's character really hooked me into this movie series: he was humble, charismatic, disciplined, and a "true Chinese man". I am glad i didnt prejudice against this movie and actually watched it exhilarately. Give this movie a shot people!

Kung fu is the mother of martial arts, sure but who ever said a child can't overgrow it's mother? That's no big wisdom. Modern martial arts evolve to suit reality and become practical, while kung fu, cuz of it's famous tradition, remains. It really depends on the point of view. I'm sure if you'll look closely you'll find a 100 tournaments won by japs.
