Why did Blue Bird buses had swing-out doors back then? Blue Bird didn't have swing-out doors until the late 1990s.

@mkend3 This bus has one door that swings out and the other door swings in. Both doors do not swing out on this one. I used to ride a bus just like this when I was a kid. The driver made me sit up front and hold the inside door so she could stay cool in september. It is not up to Bluebird how the doors open, it's federal guide lines. Then they changed it to they had to bi-fold and swing inside to where it is now and both have to swing open.

plus the factory 5 speed trans helps too

yes you were hearing the quad (700 grizzly with an HMF pipe). The bus is a 350 with straight pipe duals and yes it is a 5 speed. It has plenty of power but is geared low and tops out at about 50 mph.

@joegfjh The Chevy 292 is not a V6, it's a straight six. It drives me nuts when people call straight sixes a V6. When I see ads for 1960's american cars that say V6 I know the owner probably knows very little about the car.
