No, it was poison found in certain brands of cat and dog food. there was a recall of it in march of 2007 in southern Canada and North-eastern US. A lot of pets lost their lives within this time period. He got poisoned early march, but we gave him some medication and he recovered, but my family didn't realize it was due to the poison in the cat food, so they never changed it, and he got poisoned again two weeks later, and we had to put him to sleep to prevent him from dying in pain. Quite sad.
My close friend lost his cat to the same thing, and I don't think he'll ever fully recover. He had a cat that would follow him around and talk to him and come when called and play fetch and the cat just thought he was god. He loved that cat so much...

You poor little cat, how could this happen? I lost my cat in August at 18 months old after she was hit by a car, that day my heart broke in to and even now 6 months later I miss her so much. I know what you mean Pebbles was much more to me than just a cat, she was everything :o). Kola was a beautiful cat and like Pebbles taken from us at such a young age, but we were the lucky ones to have know them.x

I lost my cat on December 27th, or the 28th. Were not sure, it was over-night at the vets. He had kidney failure, probly from the cat food. :(
