These are my buddies and friends. I am so happy for them. I basically have just met Scotty through the show indirectly. Lauren through a co-writer and publishers I work with that has known Lauren for many years. Richard McGibony lives in Rossville GA and Lauren has helped nurse Jean, Richard's wife, back from a serious illness and are close also. Lauren has a few of our originals and we sure hope she will record a few and hopefully Scotty will also. Ron Dennis Wheeler

Lauren is only 16 and I must say since hollywood week has matured into a beautiful lady. I would say she is figuring herself daily and with her strong family support she is going to be fantactic.
Next to LAUREN, SCOTTY becomes more and more bubbly and outgoing.Next to SCOTTY,LAUREN becomes more and more elegant.They both love Jesu ( both are Christians) , love country music and love sport.It‘s hard to find a person who share interest.So alsolutely they are so perfect for each other. this is now one of my favorite interviews of scotty and lauren (and i've seen pretty much all of their interviews), just because they seem relaxed and natural. & it's good to see that they both have a good sense of humor. i've never seen scotty tell so many jokes! there are so many cute moments in this video, but one that nobody's pointed out is at around 19:16, when lauren is telling her story and scotty is trying not to laugh, but then he laughs and it's adorable! i love them! :)
I love scotty response is clever, and funny, I like to be careful in responding, and is so sincere. lauren is always a little overexposed, is his personality. But although she is more out he is, are the comments from him that I take more laughter, for example in the minute 11:12 (funny) 16:07 (sweet), 19:44 (love it) (but did not answer the question), 25:18 (hahaha) they complement , are happy and comfortable next to each other. I love how he smiles at her, I love how she looks at him.
Hilarious that they can't quite categorize their relationship! If they were just friends, I think the first thing he would have said was friends! That's an easy question if you ARE friends. So yeah, that's pretty suspect. And LOL at 2:43, Lauren makes it sound like they sleep together. hahaha... this brother/sister thing is working out for them about as well as it did for Justin and Selena. :P

After watching the whole interview, I became more impressed of these two. They are young but they proved to be sensible, witty and smart in the way they answered the question. It was so relaxing to watch them and to just listen to them talk. Thank you google. The interviewer was equally clever. I find it funny STILL, that when asked a question they most of the time answer "we", instead of I. They answered for each other during the show as well. Such a great duo and they balance each other nicely!! More than friendship or not, this will be one of THE most talked about relationships from AI. Can't wait to hear their new music!! I have to agree with scotty, I don't think Simon would have liked him or James for that matter, at all... I think Kara would have had issues with them too. It would have been a very different season and I don't think my favorites [Scotty and James] would have made it quite as far.
What I do know is that they are two extremely talented individuals, which I adore and wish them nothing but the best in their future. I will continue to support them both in all they do.
I just can't pick a favorite moment the whole 34.41 minutes were amazing!

All the speculation on their relationship “are they” or “are they not”, who cares.
I am happy that they have a really great friendship and I can't state it enough the respect and admiration I feel for them and it wouldn’t change if they were a couple or not.
I am fairly sure that all American Idol contestants sign contracts saying they agree to have no "personal" relationships with other idol members/staff/ etc., etc.. If Idol didn't do that, and fights started in the midst of a traveling show (for example), performances could seriously suffer, which would not be in Idol's best interest. There is no way they would allow those relationships to blossom until the tour was over. Nonetheless, their chemistry is clear. Scotty is harsh with "block".
oh you guys are over-analyzing things here lol. Lauren shows more personality than Scotty, she tries to strike conversations and makes an extra effort with her sweet mouth and that is something I find so attractive about her. Scotty is calm/confident and lets Lauren do the talking while she in turn finds comfort in his confidence. they are better off as friends in the meantime they have got so much time ahead. if there are feelings they sure are taking it slow.
@jklnyy i agree...it's clear that they have a nice friendship going on and i am glad they are taking things slow...coz then again people "over annalyze" every move they make, every eye contact, every smile, every time they touch, whether scotty is helping lauren up and down the stairs or not and so on...i love both of them and its crazy how people overindulge in interpreting EVERYTHING they do and say.
@kruxii I think that Lauren has better stories like the cousin and twitter answers,she's witty and smart. Scotty answers in a more neutral way which is nice as well. they balance each other well and both are naturals! (:

from my POV, my guess is this. she wanted to KNOW where he would place her in the circle that;s why she looked down and said "don't know", trying to get him say his answer first. and he goes "oh Block!" she wasn't expecting that and looked taken aback! "well, come on Scotty!... i get blocked and you get friends", that line meant something, it was the hint from Lauren. ah Scotty might just be a little slow for the obviously more experienced Lauren hahaa. think he needs some lady lessons (:
@lanyvgsf Their show that night (13 Jul) was in San Jose. That was the very uncomfortable-to-watch duet where she didn't look at him until 2 minutes into the performance. Maybe a little payback for the "blocked" comment!? :)
I must say this is one of their best interviews and thanks google for sharing. Because we have not seen them in many interview together lately it was very refreshing to see how they carried themselves. As always Scotty would answer "we" for both of them. Lauren is showing a more mature side and I am proud of her. Although it is one of their longest interviews I do not agree that he is bored. He is allowing Lauren her moment to shine and I must say she was funny as always they both were.
Oh you people, if she really is his 'girlfriend' why would he say that he would block her. I know it's a joke but that seems harsh to say to a 'girlfriend'.

Hilarious that they can't quite categorize their relationship! If they were just friends, I think the first thing he would have said was friends! That's an easy question if you ARE friends. So yeah, that's pretty suspect. And LOL at 2:43, Lauren makes it sound like they sleep together. hahaha... this brother/sister thing is working out for them about as well as it did for Justin and Selena. :P

i think its funny how neither scotty or lauren could answer what circle they would put each other in! but yet when the interviewer asked him, he replied friends! so idk about u ppl but to me it seems like they are more than friends but wont let it out to the public just yet!

After watching the whole interview, I became more impressed of these two. They are young but they proved to be sensible, witty and smart in the way they answered the question. It was so relaxing to watch them and to just listen to them talk. Thank you google. The interviewer was equally clever. I like the way she conducted the session.This interview made me more interested to know more'bout Google+. I'm not sure if it was after this interview or before some people interviewed Scotty and some top 11 idol was behind him and was asked about his Mother and he said she went home and Lauren's Mother will take care of him while his Mother is away aw sweet

I find it funny STILL, that when asked a question they most of the time answer "we", instead of I. They answered for each other during the show as well. Such a great duo and they balance each other nicely!! More than friendship or not, this will be one of THE most talked about relationships from AI. Can't wait to hear their new music!! I have to agree with scotty, I don't think Simon would have liked him or James for that matter, at all... I think Kara would have had issues with them too. It would have been a very different season and I don't think my favorites [Scotty and James] would have made it quite as far.

What I do know is that they are two extremely talented individuals, which I adore and wish them nothing but the best in their future. I will continue to support them both in all they do.

I am happy that they have a really great friendship and I can't state it enough the respect and admiration I feel for them and it wouldn’t change if they were a couple or not.

I am fairly sure that all American Idol contestants sign contracts saying they agree to have no "personal" relationships with other idol members/staff/ etc., etc.. If Idol didn't do that, and fights started in the midst of a traveling show (for example), performances could seriously suffer, which would not be in Idol's best interest. There is no way they would allow those relationships to blossom until the tour was over. Nonetheless, their chemistry is clear. Scotty is harsh with "block".

oh you guys are over-analyzing things here lol. Lauren shows more personality than Scotty, she tries to strike conversations and makes an extra effort with her sweet mouth and that is something I find so attractive about her. Scotty is calm/confident and lets Lauren do the talking while she in turn finds comfort in his confidence. they are better off as friends in the meantime they have got so much time ahead. if there are feelings they sure are taking it slow.

@jklnyy i agree...it's clear that they have a nice friendship going on and i am glad they are taking things slow...coz then again people "over annalyze" every move they make, every eye contact, every smile, every time they touch, whether scotty is helping lauren up and down the stairs or not and so on...i love both of them and its crazy how people overindulge in interpreting EVERYTHING they do and say.

from my POV, my guess is this. she wanted to KNOW where he would place her in the circle that;s why she looked down and said "don't know", trying to get him say his answer first. and he goes "oh Block!" she wasn't expecting that and looked taken aback! "well, come on Scotty!... i get blocked and you get friends", that line meant something, it was the hint from Lauren. ah Scotty might just be a little slow for the obviously more experienced Lauren hahaa. think he needs some lady lessons (:

@lanyvgsf Their show that night (13 Jul) was in San Jose. That was the very uncomfortable-to-watch duet where she didn't look at him until 2 minutes into the performance. Maybe a little payback for the "blocked" comment!? :)

I must say this is one of their best interviews and thanks google for sharing. Because we have not seen them in many interview together lately it was very refreshing to see how they carried themselves. As always Scotty would answer "we" for both of them. Lauren is showing a more mature side and I am proud of her. Although it is one of their longest interviews I do not agree that he is bored. He is allowing Lauren her moment to shine and I must say she was funny as always they both were.
