  • cool special effects. how the hell did you do that?

  • Its a long story. ;)

If you're serious about learning, I can direct you to the website where I bought the software. There's a number of us on Youtube who have tried to duplicate the leap effect, and no two of us did it the same way.

  • @SpreadingtheMuse cool. whats the website? does the leap effect always look the same for you? this IS you in the video right?

  • Thats me. ;)

Youtube objects to posting websites, lets see here:

triple w FXHOME with a com

That gives you the lightning and glow. You'll need editing software with Chroma Key to glue it all together.

The leap always looks the same for me as I always use the same method. There's another example online. Search for "quantum leap of Bernie" here on youtube. Its under my other name.

  • thanks, i will check it out. i'm not really too hip on computers, but my son will enjoy this.

    great job, keep it up

  • You Sir, are the most cool freak i ever seen. :)

  • yay! I found IT!! Omg i've been looking for this for years! no kidding. :D ah, i'm so happy.

  • Does that mean that the movie is famous somewhere? Woo hoo! ;)

  • "Oh....son of a bitch"

    HAHA!

  • I really like your space physics videos, and I am actually learning a lot of that stuff in Chemistry right now. Make more! lol Im a sci fi guy, and those are really cool. Could you also tell me where some of the big space battles are from? (besides the ones from star trek, which are obvious).

    :)

  • The scenes of space battles come from two major sources besides Star Trek.

    Babylon 5 (1994-1999)

    Space: Above and Beyond (1995-1996)

    Both available on DVD. ;)

  • awsome. how long did it take to make?

  • I'd say 2 1/2 months.

  • lmao.

Nice Bernie. I love the Borg. But you just had to pick the creepy clips to show.

    I prefer 7 of 9.

    Jeri Ryan MmMMmm

  • Awesome Idea!

  • LOL super kudos that was funny

  • Amaxing professional job!

  • lol, nice!

  • he he , its crazy !!

    ...great job ;)

  • That was brillient!!!!!!!! :D

  • Dude that was the best fan vid i've seen in a while, thank you.

  • i'm still amazed by this! well done!

  • This is hilarious. And the leaping effects are awesome. How did you manage to mimic them? Good job! :-)

  • 20% Patience and 80% yelling at my computer. ;)

Seriously, any decent FX program can duplicate the blue glow and lightning. The only hard part is the Leap Matrix itself, which I solved by employing a stone cold cheat--just bluescreening it off the TV Show. The final leap of the whole show was into black empty space, and it just BEGGED to by chroma keyed. I obliged. ;)

  • That was absolutely fantastic. A lot of spare time must be needed to make this.

  • wow. that is amazing

  • Ha, really cool! I had an idea sort of like this a while back but never got around to do it. Good job dude!

  • LOL great stuff man :)

  • LOL! That was awesome. I'd watch that show too!

  • INGENIOUS!

I hope you know... You must make MOAR.

  • What FUN!!!!! This was excellent. Wish I was there!

  • Hahaha, I'd watch that TV show.

    Meta-humour is good.

  • I like it. And I don't like anything.

  • Imaginative use of stock clips, and an appropriate nod to The Outer Limits.

  • If Barry could parody the Outer Limits ep where Kevin Nealon got stuck in a time loop, that would be classic. I haven't looked at Nealon the same way since I saw him scream "Oh no, not again! AHHHHHHHHH!".

  • lol, that was pretty sweet dude!!! I bet that took a long time to make!! VERY cool!!!
